Grid-based auras

A toggle option of some kind to enable a character's aura representation, normally circular, to be based on "Manhattan" calculated diagonals and shaped more square-like to match the grid instead. Think of tactical-style grid based games and genres, like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics. Apologies if something like this is already possible, but it doesn't seem so to my knowledge without very fancy API (which would tax a lot of allowed useage from heavy interface alterations).

Is your suggestion more about creating those "pixelated" circles for auras?
hmmm, could you use a token like a spell template token and just group it to your normal token? I would think that would be the best work around right now, if I understand your intent correctly. It also has the benefit of if you need different angles of sight for different vision types you can set the second angle on the template token. The suggestion does seem interesting though.
I believe what he means is measuring distance in an orthogonal manner, I.E. if a character was on grid space B5 and another was on a grid space D4, the distance measured this way would be 3. Like this, basically.
Hi ! I agree with this idea, it will be very useful for my "tactical-RPG" fight mode :D Is there a script to do this ?
