One of my player didn't get the dynamic lighting effect

Tonight, one of my player could see everything on the map (except the gm layer). All the tokens that were suppose to be hidden by dynamic lighting walls were visible for him... he just had a top view like the gm minus the gm layer. It was only my third time using roll20, and we are still having a blast with it, but it's the first time we get this problem. Anything I can do to solve this problem ?

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the site. Edit: Please check out these two guides: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Dynamic_Lighting#Adding_Li" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Dynamic_Lighting#Adding_Li</a>... <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Dynamic_Lighting_Examples" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Dynamic_Lighting_Examples</a> If neither of them resolve your issue please follow Steps 1-3, taking special care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, temporarily pause your anti-virus, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you.

Hi Mat. One thing to check, players can see thru each token they have control of. Is it possible that player had control over multiple tokens(that have sight) on the map? Setting Token Permission and Dynamic Lighting or good places to start.

The first thing I checked is if the permissions were set correctly on the token and they were (afaik). He only had control of his token and things were linked correctly with his sheet. I removed the token from the character sheet, checked the properties on the token and assigned it back. I tried turning off the global illumination option: the other players were affected (couldn't see anything because they had no light source) but not him, he told me it was clear as in daylight. I'll ask him to try the steps in Steve K's posts and report back the results ! Thanks

If a player was made a co-gm, that would also have a similar effect, although they would also be able to see the gm-layer.
So, yesterday the player tried to join the campaign from another computer and everything was all right. In the evening, he tried again from the computer where the bug happened and he could still see everything. He disabled Ad Block Plus and that fixed the issue. He then enabled back Ad Blocker and the problem didn't come back. So, we are not sure what happened, but it had something to do with Ad Block Plus!

Mat, I'm glad to hear your player's issue is resolved. You should tell him to white list roll20 and roll20's servers. That way it won't block any of the necessary code to make Roll20 function. Happy rolling.
