Enhanced Visual Effects System.

Right now the engine has 4 effects (burn, explode, dragonsbreath, fireball) that can be used and a chat command (/fx) that lets you show one of the effects on top of a token that you have selected. The engine needs more effects to select from and chat commands to show the effect over a target token and even draw the effect from a selected token to a target token. With those additions you would be able to create a macro for a spell caster that shows the spell traveling from the caster to the target. Effect types that I would like to see added to the system are acid, arcane, force, holy, ice, necrotic, and prismatic. Some of these effects can be added in as recolors of the current effects others would need entirely new animations done up. It would be cool to have a visualization of magic missile going off and hitting the enemy square in the face. The effects system can even have effects for things like arrows, stones, and potions. The current command can be updated to take the arguments @{selected} and @{target}. For dragonsbreath it could look something like this, /fx dragonsbreath @{selected} @{target} the dragonsbreath would start at the selected token and move to the target token. A fireball spell that is augmented to come from a source other than the caster might look like this, /fx fireball @{target|target1} @{target|terget2} or /fx fireball @{target} in the first example the fireball would travel from target1 to target2, in the second one the fireball will just show up and explode on the target. If the command is given with no arguments it would work as it does now.
I think most or all of this is covered by my suggestion here.... https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1261330/finish-t... You might want to move your vote over so we can get closer to the front page. Or not. Your choice.
