Marketplace Art Pack Wish List

I would love to see more art packs like this Wall Set available on the marketplace. I build a lot of my Roll20 encounter scenes from scratch and having wall tiles with transparent backgrounds is a big help. Other variations of stone walls (natural rock, cobblestone, brick, etc) would be great, as would be different types of wooden walls (timber frame and log, for example). Another great art pack would be a series of road tiles with transparent backgrounds. All the way from foot paths up to cobblestone-paved city streets. I know there are already lots of road tiles available in the Roll20 Marketplace, but almost all of them come with the background already in place. And the background rarely matches the look I'm going for. Having sets of road tiles with a transparent background would let me put down my own background tiles and then lay the road tiles on top of it, in the exact pattern I want. While I'm at it, I may as well ask for transparent background water tiles too. All the way from small stream to raging river. With the proper semi-transparent shadowing along the edge of these water tiles, they could be laid on top of a normal background tile and made to look like a water course flowing through a carved-out channel. If a Roll20 artist were to produce sets like these for the Marketplace, I for one would certainly purchase them.

All good suggestions. I'll do some investigating :)
All great suggestions Brett! I would also like to add castle pieces to this list. Ruined pieces for the castle and ruins in general as well. There is nothing like that in the marketplace. Also some really good terrain pieces such as grass, dirt and trees of all types and seasons would be great! Mine tiles are also sorely needed!

No harm in having more but can I point you towards: <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/508/vile" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/508/vile</a>... and <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/355/hass" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/355/hass</a>... and <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/390/hass" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/390/hass</a>... aaaand <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/item/24581/c" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/item/24581/c</a>... and <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/298/cast" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/298/cast</a>... and for flavour a dash of <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/281/old-" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/281/old-</a>...

Yeah, I've not heard it referred to in that way before, but that's exactly what I mean. I'm not really interested in pre-sets, I prefer lots of individual art pieces which I can assemble into the exact layout I want.

I have several things on your list (more walls in various substances, road tiles with transparencies) in my project queue. I'll look at what's ahead of them if there is interest in these and maybe move them forward. I'm with Alan as far as ruined castle tiles go Andy Gerding's Castles and Ruins set has a lot to like.
I'll put this out there again, Top Down Tokens of the Same Character in a few different poses, i.e. Fighting Stance, Sitting, Riding with horse, and Sleeping or Dying... -Ajax
One more item to add to my wish list: Different type doors, top-down view, balanced with equally shaped transparent space. That way, when you select it, you can use the rotation handle to make the door appear to open and close on its hinges. Does that make sense?
Completely second this. While I do love tilesets that come with completed packs, individual lego-style pieces have much more longevity and are something I would buy up by the truckload. Spare doodads and art objects are great, too, as would generic, large background segments, for things like grass, sand, dirt, etc.
Yes i meant more lego pieces! The more the better. In fact i have a lot of fun as a DM creating very detailed maps for my games and spend hours making them.
I can't agree more with everyone in this thread. I typically buy 2-3 art packs a month, and while I have gotten some use out of static map packs, the packs that I keep going back to over and over are the ones that have "lego pieces" that allow me to really build the scene the way I want to, rather than trying to fit the scene to the map I have available to me. Again you can often do this with "free" assets, but they are so often generate a "mish mash" look and feel... I am a stickler for a consistent look and feel, this way things items don't look "out of place" based on inconsistent styles.

I have found some of what I'm looking for by scouring the web for free art assets. And they've worked well enough so far. But after a while, everything starts to look the same. It would be nice to have a much greater variety of art pieces to work with.
