Interactive map

Hi, apologies in case this has been discussed before, but It would be amazing if there was a way to create a different kind of pages called "interactive map", something that looks roughly like google map or http://mashupforge.com/. So that we can use it to create cities and world maps and when players hover or click on a Pin then a custom popup appears that can contain a text and/or an image with the description of the city/building. I tried to search the forums to see if it was possible to do something like this but nothing came out. Please let me know what you think.
How is this different from using a regular page, with the background image being the map, the grid set to whatever scale you are using (so you can measure distances at the right scale), and tokens controlled by All Players as pins? Then, when you double-click on a pin you have the "character" bio to put a link, text or whatever into. You can even have another token to represent your party. I use this in my Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign and it works very well! The only downside is that you can't pull it up like a handout while on another page but that has not been an issue so far.
http://mashupforge.com shut down on August 20th. :( I use Simon's technique and it works out well enough, except my players have to hold down SHIFT before double-clicking. But Cristian, I find it pretty kludgey. I'm going to check up on this as a feature request.
