Hey all this is Mel, I've been playing DnD for a while, mostly 3.5 4.0 and pathfinder. And I've really enjoyed those games. But as a lot of us my mind likes to alter, create and do its own thing. I of course try to guide it as it does this.
One of my favorite video games is Minecraft, just like DnD is it many possibility's for entertainment and creativity. Venturing forth like the guy who combined Jam and Peanut butter, I've decided to try and mix these to two games together. And hence Creepers and Craverns.
Now those familiar with DnD 4.0 i will say I've had to make some alterations, and so there is some room for error and things to be changed. Those familiar with Minecraft i must say it will be different than just playing a video game on a computer. Those not familiar with it don't worry I'll explain as we get into in.
Now with Minecraft each time you start a new game it "generates" a world and as such i have come up with "world sheets" and have a system to generate (using dice) your different Biomes and sub sections of the world you will enter.
In Minecraft you start in this world with nothing, you must chop down trees, dig up stone, mine out veins, plant crops, build house, create potions, build tools, craft armor and so much more to survive. (and much more.)
The point of the this session will be mostly play testing, making sure the mechanics work right, the stats are fair and just your basic tweaking. But for the characters their goal is 3 fold:
1: Survive, build tools, armor, and shelter.
2: Expand, explore, get resources possible find an NPC village or temple.
3: Exterminate, go to the NETHER (hell), and go to the END (final boss)
I have most the rules in a Google Powerpoint, and its kinda messy, but i'll still keep on cleaning it up.
Post here or message me if your interested, have a question, or comment.
