Session 5 Deception part 3..... Our adventurers left off within the supplies area after a rejuvenating rest. Tsumoro our Rogue used his Ring of Invisibility to scout the room ahead where a party of hired mercenaries were waiting to speak with Raistlyn. There was a see invisibility ward on the door and Tsumoro was spotted so the fight was on. Graegos charged in to intercept the magic caster in the back lines and took three vicious shots and nearly fell. He went to one knee to pray for strength to be able to continue his fight. The gods answered and the fight swung into favor of our heroes. In the end, all of the enemies were dead except for a warrior type named John which was interrogated by the party. John stated that they were there as hired mercenaries and had not gotten the chance to speak to Raistlyn yet. After information was gathered from John, he was “taken out” by the party and the enslaved cook Butch stumbled his way onto our party of adventurers. Lucky for him he had previously known Tsumoro and Bastion and was spared. The party had time enough to grab a bite to eat and was back onto the trail to finding Raistlyn. So now the party has figured out that the Drow elves and the spider queen Lolth are some how involved with the Grey Wizards. After a few hours of searching several other routes that were previously discovered the party ran into a locked door. Tsumoro successfully picked the lock (which I think was a first LOL) and as the door was opened the party could hear screams and yells from inside. Boneshank, the Greys enforcer was keeping guard on the remainder of the villages peoples from the surrounding areas. After making quick work of Boneshank and the archer that had escaped earlier from the party they found out that the villagers were being taken into the cave system one at a time and not coming back out. The captives also alerted our party of a secret door, which was hidden behind one of the tapestries. Within this secret room there was another stone statue of Raistlyn. Although the key mechanism that was found on the body of Boneshank was thought to work on the statue, unfortunately it was not a match. Bastion and the crew has taken all of the battered villagers back to the mess area so they can eat for the first time in weeks. Graegos and the others have also decided to give the villagers the massive amount of copper coins found throughout the Minotaur maze so they can rebuild. Is Raistlyn is still within the lair? Is there a temple of Lolth here? What was happening to the villagers within the cave system?
