[LFP] [Stars Without Number] The Astral Wind

Description:  The Astral Wind is a sandbox game with an emphasis on player choice and character goals. The players are currently pursuing money that was stolen from one of their contacts. In a sandbox game the players are expected to pursue plots actively rather than wait for the plots to come to them. Though we do that occasionally too.  Date and Time: Every Saturday starting at 8pm cst and going for 4 hours or so. What You Need to Know:  This is an evil campaign, our characters have committed some fairly heinous crimes and not felt remorse over it. (Example: Planted a bomb in a hospital in order to cause a distraction...and just because we could.) This is something our characters embrace, and yet we aren't mindless killers. Our characters have friends, emotions, and personal ambitions. We are high functioning sociopaths in this campaign. We should emphasize that our crimes and violence are typically planned in advance or last resort actions. We do not set out to commit violence, it just happens to be convenient at the time. Therefore we ask that you use your best judgement in applying.

Leveling and Experience Gain:  Players in this campaign gain experience through a number of methods. The primary method is through short and long term goals. These goals are changeable between sessions but are locked in once a session starts. More experience is gained through achieving long term goals, and experience is rewarded for progress towards long term goals. The Secondary Methods: Betting - Before each session, each player pm's a bet that they can not influence to the GM. These are things such as one player will fail a critical role, or guesses about aspects of the current mission. Relationship Goals - To help keep the party cohesive and encourage players to work through character conflicts, players are asked to pick goals to achieve with other members of the party. These can be specific or broad. Tip Jar - At the end of each session, several questions are asked of each player. What was your favorite scene? - This helps the GM to gauge what players do and do not like, and adjust accordingly during future sessions. What did your character learn? - This helps to determine what players find as important information throughout the session. Sometimes it's inane, sometimes it's very specific. Who did your character feel closest to? - This questions is used to reward experience for player interraction and role playing. Who did the best role playing? - Even if your character didn't get along with another person, was it because they stuck to their character? This is another experience rewarding question. Was there an MVP for the session? - Did a player do something that had an effect on the remainder of the session and kept the party from ruination? Do you have any suggestions for me? - This is another question that the GM asks in order to guage where things can be improved.
