[LFG] European-time friendly FFG SW (EotE), DARPG or D&D 4E game

Hello there! I'm Az. Pleased to meet ya. It's always been quite difficult finding games that have Europe-friendly times around these parts, let alone if you want to play using a less popular system (like I do) - and even less so when looking for a specific thing like I am right now. I'm not holding my breath. You might remember my old thread. If so, do be sure to look over this one regardless - some things have changed! (TL;DR version is the bolded stuff.) SYSTEMS / EDITIONS / GAME TYPE I am looking for a FFG Star Wars, Dragon Age RPG or D&D 4E campaign , as the title states. At this point in time, I am particularly interested in doing a text-only game (real-time, not PBP) or a hybrid system (text for IC, voice for OOC) . Far as settings go, here's some of my preferences: FFG Star Wars I'm highly interested in Edge of the Empire games, at least in flavor/theme (particularly, I've a fondness for those without any Force Sensitives/Jedi in the party, but it's not a 100% requirement). This is partially due to the fact I've a particular character I'd like to play, who happens to be a Smuggler, but I am definitely open to other options and don't actually mind Force and Destiny themes instead. That said, Rebellion-centric themes don't have much draw for me. Dragon Age RPG I am most interested in exploring Thedas beyond the video games - time periods prior to them or locales they do not touch upon much. I am definitely not interested in any campaigns following the same story as the video games (eg. the Warden and his companions is replaced by the party and that sort of thing), and would prefer to stay away from any custom Wardens/Warden Commanders/Hawkes/Inquisitors if the campaign is set in the Dragon Age and beyond. I'm interested in playing a Rogue or Warrior - I already play a Mage in another campaign. 4E I enjoy medieval high fantasy the most - swords and sorcery type stuff. I prefer the focus of my D&D games to be on adventure, so I may not be interested in campaigns that are mainly about politics/intrigue/kingdom-building (though it can certainly be an element, just not the central one). I also have a small bit of aversion towards more industrial/steampunk fantasy, so Eberron as a campaign setting is not a good fit for me. Horror is another theme I think is better suited to other systems, so I'm unlikely to dive into a Ravenloft game. I'll happily play in settings such as the Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun, or your own homebrew world, though! Regardless of this, I'm looking for something reasonably immersive (chips-and-soda romp gaming is fun, but I prefer more involved / thematic stories for long campaigns). TIMEZONE / AVAILABILITY I'm in the Central European timezone . Currently, my timezone is GMT+2 , but that won't be the case come end of October (DST will end). Far as days go, I am not available : Tuesday evenings (7 pm+) Saturday evenings (7 pm+)* *may free up in a month's time or so due to other campaigns and obligations. My available times are generally anything between noon my time and 1 am my time (excluding the time blocks exempted above) , the limitation being that no game should stretch after 1 am (so the start time would have to be maybe 9 pm my time at the latest) in order for me to guarantee attendance. I can make do with two games on the same day (minimum 30 minutes between the end time of one and start time of the other), but I prefer not to. As a result, my preferred days, from best option to worst , are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday Thursday Tuesday, Saturday I prefer to play weekly , but I would consider a once-every-two-weeks campaign as well. ABOUT ME Well, you got this far, meaning you have something to throw at me. Awesome! That also means you'd probably like to know a bit about me as a player before you extend your hand. You can read up a lot about me and my playstyle preferences in my Roll20 profile (just click my name at the top of this post to be taken there) and see if I might be a good fit for you and your group. If you've any questions not already answered, feel free to ask. I don't bite. Usually. :P THANK YOU FOR READING!
Still lookin'!
Stiiill lookin'!
Yep, still lookin'!
Still seekin'!
Azure, I'd love to provide the experience you are looking for. You should know that I am a GM for hire, with very reasonable rates. I understand that this may not be your first choice, but hiring a GM has several benefits: The GM will always show up, be prompt, seek to create adventures (and themes) that interest your group, and produce a consistently strong campaign. Here is a link to my rates and some additional info: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/4066601/game-mas... Good Day, Biff Alexander

Good Day, Biff Alexander Hi! Unfortunately, I happen to live in Serbia, which... well. Look here , if you're curious. This means that paid GMing is simply not something I (or most anyone who lives here) can actually afford, even if the prices are reasonable by the standards of western European countries or the US. Thank you for the offer nonetheless, but... yeah. Hiring someone is a no-go.
No worries. I wish you the best, friend.
Still lookin'!
Insert incredibly witty post bump text here.
*dusts off the thread* Sundays are now free as well for potential games. :)
Le bumparoo.
Still on the lookout!
Still here, still looking!
Hello again Azure, I've been following this thread since my last post and I find it too depressing to let it continue on. I want to offer you a 1900 - 2300 (GMT+2) game on Sundays for SW FFG. I prefer voice for my own communications, and typically use Discord to that end, but your using text is fine. I will not be charging for this time slot, but I should let you know that the next three months are a busy time for me in terms of family events so there will be times I may need to cancel. It is not my intention for this to turn into a long term campaign, and if I get hired for your time slot I may choose to close the campaign on short notice. However, till I am hired or become otherwise engaged I would like to GM for you for the next couple of months and see how it goes. We can work out further details if your response is in the positive. I wish you well and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Biff Alexander

I wish you well and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Biff Alexander Hello, hello! Depressing though it might be, I'm willing to wait to find the right game and group, honestly. I knew this was going to be a long shot from the start, and it doesn't really deter me from continuing to look. :) Thank you for the bottom of my heart for your offer, though - it's much appreciated. There's a couple things I'd need discussed / clarified, though. My primary concern is thus: that you, yourself, would have fun with this. I don't want you to do be doing this purely out of pity, rather than an actual desire to game with me. After all, at the end of the day, it's a game, and everyone should be enjoying themselves. The other issues are the fact I'm really kind of wanting that text-based experience from all sides, rather than just from my own (the voice-based OOC in a hybrid system is mostly for the sake of speeding up rolls and combat actions, as there's a significant amount of back-and-forth in systems such as FFG SW for purposes of, for example, building a dice pool; that sort of discussion would be very clunky if one had to do it in text every time. Outside of maybe in combat / when quick-fire answering player questions / clarifying stuff, I'd still want the GM to provide things such as descriptions, narrative and NPC dialogue in a textual format). I find the format has people being far more immersive - especially shy ones (like moi) or those who aren't adept at acting or doing voices (which also applies to moi) - and makes for more detail and fluff in things as one is naturally inclined to describe more in such. (Plus, it's fun to look at it later and read it over like a piece of fanfic. :P ) Add to this the fact I do kind of want a longer campaign (assuming everyone gathered clicks together and is having fun), and we get that pickle of 'not exactly what I'm looking for'. BUT! I'd be an idiot to outright spurn this kind of offer, despite all that. GMs and games are a rare commodity. So, here's what I propose: if the fun thing (which is really my main concern here) isn't an issue for you, we can do something more non-committal. Gather a few people, do a thing (Maybe a Force and Destiny game? Whatever inspires you. I think that after all that paid GMing, if you're gonna do a 'freebie', you might as well do something that really interests you). If it's sporadic and full of cancellations, that's also cool, long as everyone's appraised of it and there's heads-up of a couple days that there's gonna be no session. If it's short and cut off suddenly, again, no problem. If either of us finds another game in that timeslot they're more interested in (for you, a paying slot and for me, something closer to what I want), wonderful. We just see where it goes - if it careens into a wall, too bad, but it might go cruisin' into the sunset, too, you know? :) Whatcha reckon?
Azure, While my pitch does appear to be made out of pity, let me assure you that I would not have contacted you if I was just going to "go through the motions". I've never ran a game that I didn't enjoy, even as a Paid GM, so I can say with confidence that I plan to have a lot of fun. If a Text game is what you want, then a Text game you shall receive. I am willing to run a one player campaign or if you want to gather a party that is also perfectly acceptable. For a Text game, my limit is going to be three players, but I will bend for a fourth if we just gotta. As for the campaign, I think that should be a discussion so that I can create an experience my players will enjoy. If this is acceptable, please let me know a time that we can sit down and discuss the details of the story. My own schedule has cleared up for today for such a discussion, but if you need another day I can offer you anything after 1900 GMT+2 except Tuesday.

I prefer multiple-player campaigns, and 2-3 players (total, including myself) is perfectly fine, even preferred (I like me some small, tight-knit groups). I can ease your burdens by looking for 'em myself, or you can get some - I'm not fussed. I'll be free in about an hour or so, if you wanna talk. :) Oh, and thank you. You're very kind!
