Introduce Yourself (Player, GM, or both; time zone)

Hi guys!  I'm Matt.  I'm somewhat new to Fate Core.  Been gaming for years.  My favorite genre is Super Heroes!  Followed closely by Star Trek and Star Wars.  Thanks to MattBx8 for inviting me!  :D  Easter Time Zone.
Howdy~  Name's Abby. I'm both a GM and a player. Been playing tabletops for about 8-9 years. Im on the westcoast of Canada, a pst player.
Guess I'll introduce myself. I'm Rumia, a GM. More of a story teller than an actual GM to be honest. Have been using FATE for maybe 3 or so years. Not super by the book, but it's a good base. I'm an EST player, and thanks for the invite.
Hi, Brian from Sydney, Australia. We're on Australian Eastern Standard Time, which puts me at UTC +10. I've run quite a few Fate games. Mainly pre-Fate Core (Spirit of the Century, Bulldogs) but also some Fate Core (mainly Tianxia, with a bit of Venture City Stories and some FAE games). I don't tend to play as much, I'm interested in fixing that. I'd love to play or run Dresden Files, Kerberos Club, and/or Atomic Robo. I don't have much free time at present due to work commitments, but hopefully that will clear in the next few months.

Hello there! I'm a fate player here, I'm a sometimes Shadowrun GM and may eventually turn to be a fate GM. Currently I'm in a game based off of the Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood world, and it's excellent. I believe my GM is planning on releasing a module based off of it, eventually. I'm in the PDT time zone, btw
Hey everyone, my name's Wannes, I'm a belgian student who's gotten into RPGs over the past year or so. I've mostly done some 5th edition D&D but i've been wanting to get into some more roleplay heavy systems and I feel like FATE is pretty suited to do that in, from what i've seen around anyway. I'm GMT+1 so if you're looking for a player around that time zone shoot me a message. Kind regards
Heya, I'm Chase. Haven't ever gotten a chance to play Fate game, and I'm a relatively new standardized-system RPG player. Spent a couple years playing on various IRC-based games, but nothing too great that kept me on consistently. I have a hard time doing pure fantasy stuff, I just find it boring and dragged out with token-Tolkienism and empowered-bloodline kingdoms. Loved the Dresden Files books and the balance between fantasy, modern aesthetic, and the cultural adaptations required... which is weird because I hate how Shadowrun handles things... too fantastic. So yeah, not-so-high-fantasy, be it urban, sciencey, supernatural, historical is cool with me! I'm in GMT-5 (EST) with availability being Friday (3-8 PM EST), Saturday (1-8 PM EST), Sunday (1-8 PM EST).

I'm Rhea, I've never played the FATE system. I know a tiny bit about the Dresden Files (v tiny) and I have some of the rpg sourcebooks, but I haven't sat down to really read them. I've seen a couple FATE games played on Twitch (I know one of them was an Atomic Robo game) and the like but I wouldn't say I'm super familiar with the system or anything. As for what I like... I like a mix of things, but my heart is probably embedded in some form of fantasy, but I like all kinds of RP as long as the stories are interesting and the experience is fun. I'm based in AZ time, which is currently the same as PST (UTC -7:00). I'm an idiot, we switched back to MST. so UTC -6:00. My state doesn't do daylight's savings time, so that's super fun for me. Currently I'm job hunting, so my schedule is free for the moment, but if there's a one-shot or mini-adventure that piques my interest, I'd be down to learn the system. (I'm also a big fan of Dragon AGE and the AGE system in general!)

Good evening folks! I'm Starfyre, and I am most definitely just a player. I haven't delved into GM world, and, frankly, I'm fairly new to this type of gaming. I have mostly done forum-based written RP. I don't have a lot of experience with FATE, mostly playing Dresden Files RPG with a regular group on Wednesday nights (for me). I live in Hawaii, so I'm on Hawaiian time (HST), which is essentially PST-3, CST-5, EST-6, or GMT-10 (all during DST currently).  Unfortunately that means I'm available for REALLY LATE AT NIGHT games (midnight EST), or weekends, in which I play from 12 noon EST onward because I actually get up at 6 am local time to play. As long as I have coffee, I am good to go. I also have a regular day job (gotta pay the rent somehow), which means I am not available generally until after 6pm local time. Other games I've played include Dragon Age RPG (So much fun), and currently playing a new fantasy games on (my) Saturday mornings once a month.  Nice to meet everyone!
Heya, It's Jay. I'm glad I could find this group since I really enjoy playing Fate as both a GM and player (started nearly a decade ago with a weekly game of Spirit of the Century, I fell in love with the system shortly thereafter). I'm big into playing nearly anything of the non-tolkienian fantasy variety (Though a fantasy game in Fate would be a refreshing experience), especially Western, horror, and Superhero games. I'd love to join a Fate Campaign during the weekend if possible, and I'm looking for players for a light-hearted supers game. Hit me up if interested. My timezone is MST, so UTC -6:00.
Hello!  I'm Ryan, from Toronto, Canada (GMT-5, technically, but I live ridiculously weird and flexible hours)!  Very excited to meet an active community of FATE players! A bit about me: I'm a flexible, creative player with twenty+ years experience, primarily in the World of Darkness. I've learned the best games are those with the best stories, win or lose, and the best stories are those with the best characters.  Which brings me to FATE!  Moreso than the polished, slick mechanics; the awesome beauty of Aspects; or the cooperative storytelling of the Fate Point economy, it's the collaborative nature of character creation that really pulled me in.  A system that guarantees a vibrant group of relationships is the system I want to play. I'm usually a Gamemaster/Storyteller, with experience mostly in the World of Darkness.  But FATE has completely grabbed my interest, and I really want to enjoy a game as a player before I commit to running one.  As my World of Darkness background probably hinted, I prefer gritty tales of horror and suspense, rather than the pulpy and fun... but, that being said, my favourite TV show of all time is Firefly , and I've always thought of that show as the exemplar of how a game of FATE should play out. As said earlier, my schedule is ridiculously flexible, so I hope you'll consider me for your next game :)
Hello Player and GM EDT/EST timezone I go by Calvin played tabletop rpgs for about 1 to 2 years and Fate was one of my first Games as a player. I played a couple of other rpgs always learning new ones read a good amount of them.I prefer other odd ideas usually I stray form fantasy but am open to all genres. Calvin
Hello everyone my name is Patrick i live in EST i have some fair expeirence with Fate playing in a few games anything from a group of superheroes fighting against evil to a murder mystery to a sci fy adventure.

Adam G! GM&Player. Representing that sweet PST, GMT-8. Would love Uranium Chef or some Pulp Stuff, especially Crimson Skies (which is easy to adapt with the rules of Kriegzeppelin Valkyrie.)

We've got quite the distinguished assemblage! :-)
Role: GM Time Zone: Pacific FATE Experience: I have run three long-term Fate Core campaigns on Roll20. They were highly collaborative, very creative, and a lot of fun. I do not use supplements to create my campaigns. Every campaign setting I have run is unique ... they are created by the players (including me) using a very structured system called The Spark in Fate Core . I have also run a number of one-shots of varying lengths. I have a FATE one-session tutorial (called "The Prey') for two players. PM me if you and a friend are interested in trying it. Examples of Campaigns I Have Run Using the Spark: In one campaign, aliens (who never reveal themselves) arrive at Earth and begin changing its ecology ("terraforming" it) including adding new sentient species ... needless to say, the humans rebel. Did I mention that the every square inch on the Earth was covered with a forest of 300ft tall trees? Another campaign involved Earth's imminent destruction at the hands of a natural interstellar phenomenon. For a hundred years, our scientists tried to stop it but their failed efforts just created a tear in space-time and a breakdown of society. The game started one year before Earth's destruction and the players KNOW there is no way to stop it. Thanks for the invite!
Hi, everyone. I'm bran. I've never played FATE, but became interested in its system and narrative aspects especially when I began watching a FATE game on Twitch, called Nebula Jazz. My particular experience is in some DnD 3.5, 4e, 5e, and D20 Modern. I'm willing to learn, probably would best be suited to the player role for a good while, and am interested in lots of varying settings - as just about anything can be fun with the right group. I live in GA, so I'm in the EST/EDT timezone. Thanks to Matt for the invite via msg.
Aye, I love all the people! Name:  Cody E. Time Zone: CST (Louisiana) Experience: I've GM'd two short FATE Accelerated campaigns, and a few other one-shots. Played in about 5 one-shots along with watching a few series of podcasts. Also well versed in Powered by the Apocalypse and D&D tabletops and have been GMing/playing for about 5 years now. Examples:  Of the two short campaigns, my favorite was a modern mythology focused campaign, mostly drawn from things like Percy Jackson. Also have played an ancient Greek mythology game that was amazing, having a Hercules-like character rip hearts out is always fun. Genres: Supernatural, Noire, Superpowers, Fantasy, Mythology, Horror, and Sci-fi. All in all, I'm down for anything. Good luck to all of you and have fun!

Player Central (GMT-6) timezone. I've played a dozen or so sessions in Fate, and I'm pretty excited about the potential for more flexibility and interaction focus. What I'm looking for in a game is to be IN the story as it evolves. I'm thinking I'd like to play some space opera/firefly-ish stuff, but I'm not locked into that. If something looks convenient, I'm inclined to jump in and go with it.
My name is Michael. I live in the Pacific time zone (USA), but my schedule on Mondays and Tuesday leaves me free uninterrupted time around 11AM, This means my current Diaspora style FATE core Sci-Fi RPG is full of accents from the UK and Europe, where folks have finished dinner and are cracking open a beer. We are about to end our second major story arc, so I have hopes it will continue for a bit  I ran about 5 or 6 sessions of Diaspora previously with people I knew IRL, but we did it on roll20 to include folks in different time zones. While the first group was great, time constraints forced it apart. I have played in about 6-8 sessions of FATE with other GM's, and I must admit I suspect I am a betterFATE player than a GM. This could be because when I GM FATE I use significantly less prep than I do for other systems and am still finding my stride in sourcing the table and finding that right mix of prep and improv. I suspect the answer lies in more between session communications and "sourcing" some of my prep before the session. The other current game system I am loving lately is Gumshoe (Specifically Trail of Cthulhu and Night's Black Agents). The spend economy can be very tense.  Part of me thinks that somewhere out there is a perfect blend of Night's Black Agents and FATE, but it will take a hell of a lot play testing to make it work.... I have a FATE one shot that I have run a few times that is pure action movie. The concept is a sequel to Big Trouble in Little China, and the idea is to shrink the FATE box to action and have players narrate action sequences and character interactions for a 3-4 hour session. it works for 2-4 players (but I have never run it with 4, so the 4th character might be crappy to play). Unlike my ongoing campaign, this game is fully prepped ahead of time, with pre gens and locations. The whole idea is to show the FATE point economy and aspects system via action sequences. So far it works, and I suspect I run it well because more of the prep is done and I feel comfortable with just about anything players want to add (Especially because all the additions must fit the action movie milieu). If folks are interested I could run this again sometime.  Thanks for reading. Michael

GM EDT FATE is the only system I currently run games for. I have 3 active games on roll20 and looking to add a 4th. I play Friday/Saturday evenings and I don't necessarily get too hung up on the rules much. My games are more about stories and role-playing with occasional dice rolling. My current games are: 1) The End - post apocalyptic with strong influence from the "The Stand" by Stephen King 2) New Guardians - a space opera mash up of "Andromeda" and "Firefly" 3) Hidden Horrors - modern investigative horror My games tend to be edgy although their are light-hearted moments and we joke around a bit but the main characters are in seriously dangerous situations. Past games have been a wide variety of systems and genres but learning and using new sometimes complicated systems got old and rarely added much to the game for me and the players I typically like to play with.  FATE has been a great system to just start playing a story with very little character prep and with players that have little to no RPG experience. Currently looking to add another Friday game that would meet every other week starting THIS Friday, March 31, or a couple weeks after that.  I'm open to the setting/game that interested players want to create.
Role: Player Timezone: Eastern Experience: Not too much experience with FATE. I've been in a few sessions of the Dresden Files RPG, but it was mostly character creation and flailing around with the group not really knowing the ruleset. Outside of FATE, I've been roleplaying on and off for the past 15+ years. Most of it has been D&D of some form, but have used and enjoyed other systems as well. Interests: Basically, I looking to play something that isn't D&D. As far as genres go, the main ones that stick out to me are: Supers Anime Inspired Modern Urban Fantasy (especially Dresden Files) Space/Sci-Fi Availability: I'm looking to find a game starting around 9:30PM Eastern, Monday - Friday. Saturdays may be possible as well. If you want to know any more, feel free to PM me. Looking forward to gaming!
Hey everyone! I’m David, I’m Swedish and I’m currently in the CEST/UTC+2. I’m both a player and a GM but I’ve never played or GMed Fate, which is mostly why I’m here. I find the system very fascinating and would love to get some experience playing it before I try my hand at GMing it. I’m very open to just about any setting as long as it’s pitched well and comes from a place of passion. I’m unfortunately not really into text based games, so audio only. Looking forward to hopefully gaining some experience with the system.
Hi all! I'm Nathan Hare. I live in Pennsylvania, USA which is in the EDT/UTC-4 timezone. I am a GM and player, but I mostly end up GMing. I've been playing Fate for about a year and a half now, GMing probably 98% of that time. I recently wrote and self-published High Fantasy Magic , a magic system for Fate, and I plan to continue writing supplements and adventures for Fate. I'm always looking to learn more and improve as a GM, so I'm on here to play more games! I'm currently running a game on here. It was set up as being a series of oneshots, but it is currently a mini-campain in the Masters of Umdaar setting. Currently there are no openings, but if there are I'll probably post on here to fill those spots.
Role: Player, GM Name:  James R. Time Zone:  EST (North Carolina)  Experience: I have a bit of experience with fates games and other systems 3.5 dnd, home brew tales game, pathfinder, FOE, BESM, OVA, star wars saga, Pokemon, and Wild Talents. I've been doing table top games for 9 years now.    Examples:  current games Mass effect game i'm running, Dresden, peace fleet, Legends of wolfen, Apocalypse of alteration, The Resurgence, God Eater lost Eden, I am a player in. Past games its been like a few years besides the currently ones but they were mostly pathfinder and dnd games with some fallout in the mix.  Interests: I'm up for anything really  Availability : Any expect Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays mornings and Sunday afternoons.
Hi, I'm Lukas. I'm a GM and a player. My time zone is EST, and I am open every other Friday, on evenings and at night. I am somewhat young, but I have a lot of experience with RPGs. I was first introduced to rpgs when D&D 4e first came out and I've been playing RPGs ever since. I discovered Fate a few years ago. I am in a long-ish running Fate Accelerated supers game, and I am also backup DM when the regular DM can't come. I know the rules pretty well, but I occasionally make mistakes or have to look something up. I'm interested in most settings, especially home brew ones. I am especially interested in Atomic Robo, and I plan to evestart a game if anyone is interested.
Hello everyone,  Player and prospective GM, though I've never played Fate.  Or Gm'd really..  Have had ideas lately for a setting/settings that I want to run in a relatively simple system, so I am looking to find out more about Fate Core and Accelerated by playing.   GMT 0
Heya all! I'm Jaye and I'm wet behind the ears in regards to Fate. I'd class myself as a Player and a prospective GM . I certainly enjoy GMing and I first got interested in Fate because it seemed to best suit my rules-lite method of GMing. I've been roleplaying for a while - in play-by-post forums, initially, and then onto D&D 3.5 and other tabletop games aside. I got interested in Fate about a year ago but have had little chance to practice playing. I did play in a FAE game called "LOVE ❤ LOVE ❤ LOVECRAFT" which was super fun. It was Anime magical girls fight literal Cthulhu.  I've been slowly writing a high fantasy setting for the Fate system (which uses a mix of FAE and Core in that it has skills & approaches both). Unfortunately, I've got two big barriers to getting back into roleplaying. The first is that I'm going back to study about mid-way through the year and I don't want something like a regular RP game distracting me from work. So I'm preferring to stick to one-shot or otherwise short games lately. The other thing is that I'm in Sydney, Australia. Aka. AEST / GMT+10 . People tend to host games when it's, uh, 1am for me <_< Looking forward to seeing you guys around!
the names Matt, thanks for the invite. I personally have not played any fate games but the accelerated system is just the thing I was looking for for world building and character design that I love. I play mostly D&D but I'm defiantly a RP builder rather than a "power player". I will not take that fireball unless it makes sense for the character to use fireball. I'm set up in the EST zone in New York currently. Currently working on the building prospects of a FATE game. We shall see how this goes. See you all around.
My name is Chess, I'm on Est time. I play mostly D&D 5e, Pathfinder and I've played a little bit of Vampire the masquerade. I've never played fate but I'm ready to learn and play and once I get the hang of things I'm all for attempting to GM. I'm free during the week days for the most part.
Why hello there! I'm Nick, an RPGer who has a good amount of time, yet somehow is still working on being a GM and player. I've been playing RPGs for say, around 3 years now. I've played DnD, Pathfinder, OVA, Silhouette Core and some homebrew systems. I'd like to say I'm both a GM and Player, though both can use some more work. My current time zone is PST or PDT...I can't keep up with it anymore so no clue. So...I really don't have much experience with FATE outside of just watching groups play said system, such as Rollplay Nebula Jazz (it's pretty funny to watch, in my opinion). As a result, I think I would like to get a one shot, or campaign of Fate before running said system for others. Based on what I have seen, I'm thinking that FATE would be the most fun in a more relaxed setting (such as the one from Nebula Jazz, when they make up the universe as they go, kind of). As for characters, I don't really have a preference as long as the system doesn't make it convoluted to play said character, such as Shadowrun and trying to do some astral stuff...but yeah, I'm cool with playing whatever fits the story.
Hi all, i am Giorgos. I am new to the rpg world. I have a small experience in d&d. I have the Mindjammer and Mutant Year Zero books. I live in Greece and my time zone is UTC+02:00. I am usually free Friday nights to Sunday evenings. Nice meeting you all!
Hello, hello I'm Ryan and I am a player hailing from the CST (GMT -6). I have been playing various RPGs for the past 4 years now: DnD 3.5 homebrew, Dungeon World, Savage Worlds, FATE Core, Stars Without Number. I really prefer high fantasy settings, but I can be a fan of sci-fi or steampunky industrial revolution settings. Scheduling wise I am available all day on Wednesday and Thursday, any day other than that would be too hit or miss to commit to a long term campaign. Speaking of long term campaigns! That is definitely something I am looking for out of this group page. Unfortunately there are very few games posted on Roll20 for FATE systems but hopefully this group will be able to help me find that. In terms of games I really prefer RP to take the center stage over everything else, we are playing RP Gs after all. My experience with FATE, so far, was much shorter than I had hoped for, but I really loved the system. I'm happy to be part of this group and look forward to meeting some of you lovely people.
Hey - I am Joe and I am new to FATE, but interested in GM-ing and being a player. EDT (GMT -4) After many years, I am returning to tabletop/Roll20 RPGs.  I have some experience in D&D and a few custom d20 and d6 games from the 70's to 80's.  I have been GM-ing a Green Ronin Dragon Age RPG group for a few years now, and came across Don Mappin's MASS Effect FATE game hack.  I am very interested in running this past my gaming group.  I downloaded the .pdf, before it was taken offline, and printed a couple copies through Lulu.com.  I have read through the book a few times, but with no knowledge of FATE gameplay, I am still unsure of how the games flow.  I hope to learn that from the forum and hopefully roll up a character and play.  Thanks

Hi all, I'll offer myself as a player, but I am willing to try my hand at GMing if a group will have me. My time zone is currently BST (GMT+1) but long term I'm most likely to be between GMT and GMT+2. I have odd and somewhat flexible working hours, though. I have played RPGs for about 30+ years. I am interested in FATE because it is rules-light, centered on narrative, and tolerant of improvisation even on the part of the GM. My experience actually playing FATE is very limited as I don't have a current playing group.  Among FATE-based games I'm mostly interested in trying out Diaspora, and Arthur Lives! (a game written by a friend which just got funded on Kickstarter). I would also like to join FATE Core or FATE Accelerated one-shots or single scenarios, to experiment with the system in a relaxed way. I have broad tastes in fantasy and science fiction, so I will play just about any other FATE-based game you throw at me.
Hello Everyone, I have recently found out about Roleplaying (3 years actually) as a hobby and it has become a very important part of my life. I have played several other rpgs like D&D 5e, Numenera, Pathfinder, Shadow of the Demon Lord, Dark Heresy 2e, Call of Cthulhu, The One Ring, etc. But, FATE seems absolutely different from anything like the ones I played and I really want to try it. I haven't got the chance to play FATE yet and so I am looking forward to an opportunity here to play it. My timezone is very uncommon and I don't think I will be able to find anyone close to my timezone. But, I can adjust my timings with others whenever possible. It is UTC +5:30.  Thank you for letting me join and I look forward to play lots of FATE games with you all. I have seen Evil Hat release lots of setting for FATE and I want to try those out.
Hello, I have been RPG off and on sense I was about 6 years old. I have played multiple systems but FATE intrigues me because the line between the GM and the players is not so well defined like in other systems. I have a little bit of experience but would love to play more, as a player or as a GM. My time zone is CDT which is UTC -5.
hey all, mostly player now though i used to GM all the time in my table group but i am kinda new to the whole online gaming thing as i just started when my group fell apart due to schedule conflicts been playing rpgs for over 20 years with a variety of different systems, most of my fate system experience is with dresden files time zone is MST but as we don't do daylight saving my actual local time can vary by an hour
Haloo! Player, GM MST (UTC-7) Call me Drew. I'm interested in all types of stories. The Fate games I've played in have varied wildly from the God of Secrets in Gods & Monsters to a bounty hunter in a High Fantasy version of the 19th century American frontier who works for the devil. I've GM'd a one-shot FAE Space Opera based on Bulldogs irl, and a short-lived pbp Masters of Umdaar. I wrote a nice piece for the Fate Codex called Time of the Horsemen which I'm fairly proud of :)
Helloooo I am Milo!  I am a Player, Central Time CST!  I have a strange amount of real life experience with FATE but have only played Accelerated on Roll20. I prefer FATE Core much more, in my experience! I am a huge fan of some of the World of Adventure titles, specifically Nitrate City and Morts, which I am just dying to play! I am not super big on the "detective" FATE stories, but I am willing to try anything if it's got an interesting enough plot!
Hello, I am Joseph Adams. I am COMPLETELY new to all things FATE and to a roll20 group like this. But I have been playing player and GM since 10th grade and I have played mutants and masterminds, Dungeons and dragons and Pathfinders. Despite not playing FATE much, my favorite genres are pirates, steampunk, sci-fi, Indiana Jones stuff, star wars, medieval and fallout/apocalypse stuff. And my time is Eastern time zone

Hello!  Role: Player Zone: UTC + 02:00  My name is Michael. I have not yet had a chance to play Fate, but I am very interested in it. The core game style is very appealing to me. I do have a few years of experience in tabletop games. I've played DnD, Shadowrun, Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, Aberrant, Exalted, World of Darkness. I have also GM'd DnD, Shadowrun and Aberrent. Now in terms of what I like and play, although I a lot of the times prefer the medieval high fantasy worlds I do play a few more modern-esque games (Shadowrun being a prime example). I am a player who loves to experience the story and how fun in the setting and the other players. It is very important to me that everyone has fun so I try to assist wherever I can. In addition to all that, I do like the appeal of some of the eastern culture factors and from time to time make a character from a distant land with a strange looking sword.  P.S. My main free time for play is Saturday and Sunday.
Hiya!  + Player/GM a bit  + Central Time Zone (GMT/UTC-6) I'm Bobby. I haven't had a chance to play FATE, but I have played some things influenced by the mechanics, and I've done some Pathfinder (on Roll20) and D&D 5E.  I'm interested in Dresden Files, superhero, fantasy, sci-fi, interesting homebrews, etc -- basically anything where I can get down and develop a character in an engaging storyline, with some cool people. I would love to try a setting steeped in African mythology or some such, as I haven't seen a lot of that out there.  I'm generally ok in the evenings on Fridays (usually with every other Friday being great and then a bit tight). Monday evenings can be good too, and around mid-June, Tuesdays will open up.  Cheers!
