Livestream or record game session

I'm going to be starting a campaign and am fairly new to the whole game recording scene. Wanted to get input from others as to the pros/cons of live streaming versus simply recording the session and also what are the best utilities to achieve either or both.
Livestreaming would broadcast it live to sites like Ustream.com or Justin.tv Pro: Instantly there, live, audience interaction Recorded gives you the ability to upload to different places like Vimeo or YouTube Pro: Gives you time to edit it, take out things, add effects, titles whatever Most of the Livestream sites archive the footage as well, so even if you stream it to Justin.tv, it'll still be there afterwards so people can watch it at their leisure. If you're not planning on doing any post-processing, or putting it somewhere that it can be monetized (like YouTube) I'd probably recommend going with one of the live sites. However, if you happen to be bandwidth challenged, remember that simultaneously uploading all that video WHILE you're running your game, and your voice/video chat all at the same time might strain your connection. Might want to do a short pre-test first to make sure that your connection can handle it.
Whatever you end up doing, let us know and we'll spread the word. I know the folks with Aethercon are particularly interested in any Roll20 related streaming sessions...
Are there any suggestions on applications to use for recording and/or live streaming?
We've just posted the instructions for Live Streaming on Mac: <a href="http://help.roll20.net/live-streaming/" rel="nofollow">http://help.roll20.net/live-streaming/</a> We'll be adding the PC section hopefully shortly.
<a href="http://cycling74.com/soundflower-landing-page/" rel="nofollow">http://cycling74.com/soundflower-landing-page/</a> is free and it might be a suitable replacement for Wiretap anywhere (I don't have a Mac, so I can't actually test it) I came across it while I was hunting for Windows alternatives, and figured I'd pass it on.

This is actually what I used before I found Wiretap. The problem with it is that I couldn't figure out how to record my own mic input as well as the output from the browser. The only way it would work was to run another app (like Audacity) and "record" myself while "monitoring" the input (so it would echo out what I was saying to Soundflower). But that resulted in me listening to myself talk with a 1 second delay echo constantly, which was incredibly distracting. In theory you should be able to use Soundflower + the Mac Audio MIDI Setup to combine two inputs, but it puts them on separate channels, and I couldn't figure out a way to get Quicktime Broadcaster to accept both channels as one "input." So...yeah. $129 to not listen to myself constantly seemed like an okay price to pay...although I wish there was a free method since I know not everyone will want to pay such a hefty fee...
