whispering something to a targeted token

If I use "/w GM" then whatever I type is whispered to the GM.  If I use "/w @{selected|token_name}" then it will whisper to the selected.  If however, I use "/w @{target|token_name}", I get an error.  Is there a way to generically target a token for a whisper command? Thanks!

My guess would be that the @{selected} is only working because the name happens to match a character or player, and your @{target} didn't.  Try using: /w "@{target|character_name}" foo /w "@{selected|character_name}" foo
It might not be possible to get a generic one to work in every case. Mainly because it is possible for a token to not have a name if the GM did not set up the token.
Thanks Guys! Aaron's suggestion did the trick.

/w "@{selected|character_name}" ?{Message|Text Here}.&nbsp; &nbsp;Prompts you to type out your message after you've clicked who ever. /w "@{selected|character_name}" &{template:pf_generic}{{name=?{Message|Text Here}.}}{{header_image=[Init]( <a href="https://i.imgur.com/1EhugDH.png)}}{{color=black" rel="nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/1EhugDH.png)}}{{color=black</a>} } Recently learned you can pictures.
