Pathfinder RPG Bestiary - Official Bug Thread

Thank you for purchasing the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary !  The Bestiary allows you to quickly view and import over 400 creatures with associated token art, one-click actions, integrated feats and spells, and more. We've also bundled along all of the token art separately (for use in-app only) so you can use them in your games however you'd like! Some points to be aware of as you dive in: Caster level needs to be set in some individual spells, especially in regards to Damage. Spells using Metamagic feats have not had their casting time, damage, or other attributes altered. Page for sorting by Challenge Rating does not exist, but will be available very soon. Please report any bugs you find in the product in this thread. Please let us know if a creature ability is not rolling in the rolled description (Such as the damage on a dragon aura), if monsters are missing spells/abilities, and anything else you come across as you enjoy the product. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. ---- Additional Help Info --- Which Character Sheet should I use with this product? All official Pathfinder content on Roll20 is created to support the  Pathfinder by Roll20  official character sheet. That said, we provide all technical information to community sheet developers for them to be able to support official content. However, we can not guarantee full intended functionality on anything other than the  Pathfinder by Roll20  character sheet. How do I access my content? In a game using a Pathfinder character sheet, simply go to the Compendium Tab (i) of the sidebar, where you can view and search all compendium entries, from monsters to rules. You can click on an entry to see the details, or pull monsters and rules into your game by dragging them to the game board. Out-game, you can  access the Pathfinder compendium here . See more about  accessing Compendiums  in the Roll20 Wiki.

Hi Nibrodooh, and thanks for your report. Just to confirm - are you using the Pathfinder by Roll20 character sheet? And if so, is this happening on any certain creatures and not others? I am not able to recreate this issue on the official character sheet.

It happens with every creature, and yes using the official character sheet. Upon further testing when I created a new game it does not occur in that game. is this possibly an issue of a sheet update not having propagated to an older game?

Thanks for confirming the basics for me :) All games should have the sheet update propagated on a re-load / re-entry. I've tried to recreate this on old PF games on my account and I can not. If it's OK with you, would you mind PM'ing me a link to your game so I can generate a report with the reference for development to look into?

One piece of additional info: If, by chance, you already have the creature in your Journal (due to using the PRD original entry), there's a chance that could cause it to not properly update the Journal. If you can try deleting the creature and then re-importing it to the VTT from the compendium, that could also prove as useful info.

I have determined how to reproduce the issue i am seeing. Changing anything in the "Default Sheet Settings" seems to trigger the issue, the issue persisting even once the settings have been set back to there defaults.

Hi Nibrodooh, thanks for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience. I can partially reproduce the problem. Would you be able to give me more details about what you modified in the settings and which creatures did you drop on the VTT, please?
Hello, I purchased the Beastiary with the intent to use it for Pathfinder 2.0. I now realize that it is meant for the first edition. 1) what is your refund policy? 2) Is there an expected date for the publishing of 2.0 materials?

Hi Sean, 1) Email us at <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a> if you'd like to get a refund for that mistaken purchase. 2) While we're always working on future content, we don't have any new release dates we can publicly share at this time. Keen an eye on our blog and on Twitter. That's where we'll first break news for what's coming around the corner.

While that is not a problem currently I can see it being so for those using both the new and old systems as contradictory information would be available once the 2.0 materials are out.

Sean - When PF2 is released and we support it, we will be using a different Compendium, so that will not be as confusing. I am assuming your games are set up to use the Pathfinder Compendium (as there is no Playtest or Pathfinder 2 Compendium), which is why it's showing on your game :) I hope that helps explain!

I just purchased the bestiary and am pleased with it, but was wondering if there is a reason the tokens won't drag from the compendium page properly. The tokens appear fine under the token page, but when I drag them from the compendium it pulls a nondescript token instead of the token shown next to the compendium entry. Is there a way to pull from the compendium to auto link the token, with the corresponding stat sheets? The tokens pulled from the compendium do generate a character sheet, but lack any information on them when generated.

Blake -&nbsp; Do you mean when you drag the token it only makes the "Blue Guy" icon? Not the correct art? Could I see a screenshot of what you're running into please? :)

I tried to upload a screenshot but it wouldn't fully upload.

Im currently having the same issue as Blake. When I drag and drop onto my table I get the blue guy icon. As well as having another issue. If I try to make an NPC sheet and drag and drop the compendium entry into to bypass the previous issue, it doesn't seem to pull any information from the compendium besides the name. If I drag and drop a beateriary entry that was not part of this purchase it works just fine. Edit: id like to mention drag and dropping straight onto my table also does not seem to bring any stats with the blue guy token. Just a named token...
Hi Blake and Tigz, Could you try completely removing any instances of the name from your in-game journal-- then try dragging them in again? Occasionally this can cause conflicts and result in the behavior you are seeing.
I tried using creatures I had not touched in my own game so far and it still was doing the same thing that Tigz had mentioned. The stat sheet is blank still, and it uses a blue guy icon instead still.

New fixes to the Official Sheet v.1.17 that may affect the Bestiary: NPC sheet / Bestiary / drop from Compendium: bug fix : Modifying some game settings (mainly if a new sheet defaults to NPC or not) will not prevent the dropped monster to be fully calculated/built.
This is the console log of just launching my game to a blank page and dropping a creature. It seems the page does attempt to populate the NPC sheet and create the monster, but it still shows the blueguy icon and holds the "Building NPC" block over the character sheet itself. Heya Blake, a few extra questions for you: Does this happen in every game? If you create a new game does it continue there? What creatures are you attempting to drag in? Is it only specific ones or does this happen to all of them? Additionally, could you work through the first three steps from our bug reporting sticky ? You have already included a console log so that isn't a huge concern, but clearing cache, checking extensions, etc may help find some interfering aspects.

I did clear my cache and check the first three steps and it still seemed to happen. But, I tried in a new game entiorely blank and everything seemed to run smooth and got the correct icons and tokens with the complete sheet filled. So I think it may be the game I was running has some issues overlapping with sheet already filled in or something. But I appreciate the help finding this out. I will simplify things and copy over my content to a new game. Thanks for the help.
I have since used the transmogrifier and simply copied over pages and they even seem to work fine in the new game. So I am sure it is something with the game settings there. But all if working now. Thank you again for the troubleshooting and figuring out what is wonky with my setup.

Glad that's it's settled for you.&nbsp; Out of curiosity, did you have any API scripts active on the original game?

Awesome, thanks for helping us help you Blake! Glad it's working right now :)
I fear I am getting the 'blue guy' issue as well, and am not nearly as computer literate as most of the users above.&nbsp; Would someone be willing to meet with me and let me make you a GM in my game and see what is up?&nbsp; I would appreciate the assist.
Hi Don! A few questions if you don't mind :) What is the name of the game in which this happens? Does this happen for all creatures, or just a few? What are the names? Does this behavior persist in a new game?
Hi Drespar, Thank you for the quick response! I tested this my games entitled Mise, Mise: Dagii, Mise:&nbsp; Rocky, and Mise: Taedrinnar with similar results.&nbsp; Almost consistent "blue guy" icons with every token I tried ( a dozen plus - sorry don't recall the names, I just went random.&nbsp; I can test again if it will help?). I created a new game and tried and had better success.&nbsp; I could pull tokens onto a map, but none of them had any token actions associated. Thanks again!
Alrighty, I managed to copy your game and I noticed that the Community sheet was being used. Something to keep in mind is that any official content such as this is only optimized to work with the official pathfinder sheet by Roll20. If you swap your game to that sheet, do you still notice the same behavior?
I appreciate that. I could have sworn I switched sheets as per the forum (at least after my initial attempts in the Mise game), but I will try that ASAP and let you know. Thank you!
Hola, By the way, I really appreciate your quick and friendly responses! I am probably an idiot, and missing something simple, but I made the character sheet changes just to be sure, and I am still having the same primary problem.&nbsp; I am no longer getting a "blue guy" - that happened maybe once or twice anyway before. When I click into the compendium I can bring up the monsters' character sheets, but I cannot pull a token from them onto the map.&nbsp; Some of the sheets lack tokens in the token spot, and just have a token as the primary artwork.&nbsp; That's ok.&nbsp; In my past experience I have been able to drag from the "artwork" section and use tokens that way.&nbsp; Usually all of the token actions are gone when I do it that way.&nbsp; I have been unsuccessful in pulling a token from either the "token" spot or the character picture/artwork spot. The other thing that has happened (before and after your help) is that when I click the compendium, a new journal sheet shows up for most, if not all, of the monsters I have attempted to use.&nbsp; I have tried to pull tokens from those pages as well, unsuccessfully. Hopefully I just doing something wrong and you can figure it out from the above.&nbsp; I have been wondering if I should start a new game and try it from a fresh set up.&nbsp; I feel like when I tried that before I had a little more success, but not consistently.&nbsp; Any advice is welcome and appreciated!
Happy to help! :) You mention opening the handouts from the compendium and then attempting to drag from inside that handout, am I correct? With the drag and drop feature you need only drag directly from the compendium list (being sure to grab by the name of the creature) and drag that onto the table top: Does doing it in this manner work for you? Keep in mind that it can sometimes take a bit for the token to load in as all the attributes are processed.
I had tried the method you describe first.&nbsp; When I do that, (just tried it again) usually the compendium will open up with the description of the creature.&nbsp; SOMETIMES a token does appear, but it has no token actions associated.&nbsp; I did just get a blue guy when I pulled the Imp, and notably there were token actions associated with it.
I may have been under a misconception about token actions.&nbsp; I never use the character sheets here, and after opening it I noted I can click on it and get rolls similar to what I would expect when using "abilities".&nbsp; Is that the way it is meant to work?&nbsp; If so, perhaps things are working as intended.
That is indeed the case :) Don H. said: I may have been under a misconception about token actions.&nbsp; I never use the character sheets here, and after opening it I noted I can click on it and get rolls similar to what I would expect when using "abilities".&nbsp; Is that the way it is meant to work?&nbsp; If so, perhaps things are working as intended.
Great!&nbsp; Thank you for all of the help.&nbsp; The team is already enjoying the tokens and are happy with the purchase. Did I note there are also random encounter tables?&nbsp; Are they rollable tables or something else?&nbsp; If there aren't any of those, it is a product for which we would pay.&nbsp; I would love to have the Chase cards in a table.&nbsp; I own a few sets and have always said I would "one day" scan them in and make tables...but they are still in the original plastic lol.
Hello everyone, I appreciated your help before, and I need it again.&nbsp; I got this on two monsters last night.&nbsp; Their character sheets were inaccessible from either the bestiary or journal:
I noted this thread and wonder if the issues are connected?&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/6879144/unable-to-import-some-pathfinder-monster-sheets/?pageforid=6957798#post-6957798" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/6879144/unable-to-import-some-pathfinder-monster-sheets/?pageforid=6957798#post-6957798</a>

I am having this problem as well in my game where the npc sheets are stuck at "Building NPC..." From what I can click it seems to be working but since that box is over everything it makes it unusable.&nbsp; This has happened for every token I've tried to create.

Thanks for your feedback. Since last friday, we have a technical problem on the Pathfinder by Roll20 NPC sheet building, and PC Charactermancer, relative to gathering data from the Compendium (Feats, Spells, Traits etc.),&nbsp;which is freezing the process. The cause has been identified and a fix is on its way. Very sorry for the inconvenience.
No problem, thank you for the response.

Pathfinder by Roll20 sheet has been updated , and the hanging/freeze problem should be solved. Thanks for your feedback.
Have there been any updates or discoveries?

I am still having the problem. I can't use the tokens, and I would like to be able to do so. I suppose a date for the fix, if you know it please?&nbsp; Thank you.

The NPCs should build normally now (they don't get stuck on "Building NPC..."). If the initial problem you've described is still happening (no token appearing), it could be because you already have a character named like the NPC/Beast&nbsp; in the journal, before dropping from the compendium (in the way&nbsp; Drespar described above ). Could you try dropping the same monster(s) from the Compendium, but in a fresh new game, perhaps?
Sorry for the lack of clarity.&nbsp; A moment before writing my first message today, I checked a monster journal page and I got the "Building NPC..." message.&nbsp; I believe it was a creature I had used before so I will delete and see and add again and see what happens.&nbsp; Thank you.

Sorry Don, I should have been clearer also: you're right, you need to delete the previously "stuck" NPC and redrop it.
