So, I've been using Dynamic Lighting both as a player and DM for the better part of a year now. It's truly an incredible tool in play. Helps with immersion, et cetera. BUT, as we all know - depending on the map - it can be a BEAR to set up. Especially when you're creating separate lines for walls, doors, and windows - it's super difficult to get everything to line up so that everything is covered and players can't sneak through the "gaps." (Maybe I just have jerk players; but it, does also take away from immersion if they can see through a crack between a wall and a door and see the enemies on the other side). I mean, check out this map and just imagine the amount of different lines that would need to be drawn: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/77/af/f0/77aff0266... . So here's my suggestion: have a type of "eraser tool" for the lines on the dynamic lighting layer - one that would work just like an eraser tool in MS paint. Basically what this would mean is that the DM creating the dynamic lighting can trace the walls, doors, windows, et cetera - all at once. And then, after the fact, they can "carve out" an opening for a door by "erasing" that segment of the singular line. This would keep players from being able to see through "gaps" (because there would be no gaps at all - it's a single line that you just remove a small section of when your players open the door). It would save a ton of time, lead to a cleaner and more immersive experience for players, and make dynamic lighting just overall a lot easier. I'm no programmer, but I have to think this is something that would be possible? It would basically just be a reverse Draw Shape tool that would take away where drawn, instead of adding.
