This is just a small suggestion, and purely cosmetic. The map navigator looks great, but when you have enough maps to force it to add scroll bars, the native browser scrollbars tend to break up the design visually. It might be possible to replace them with something a little more unobtrusive, such as something like this here (maybe not bright red!): <a href="http://css-tricks.com/examples/WebKitScrollbars/" rel="nofollow">http://css-tricks.com/examples/WebKitScrollbars/</a>
You might be able to save some of the map view space if you used it there also...
