Any interest in something like this? "Steel Spectres is a modern-day, real-world paramilitary/crime/covert ops tabletop RPG campaign. It takes its genre inspirations from games, movies, and shows such as Alpha Protocol, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, The Division, The Unit, 24, Taken, Jack Ryan, The Punisher, Mission Impossible, John Wick, Jason Bourne, and the like, with just a little bit of Deus Ex or Cyberpunk thrown in. The tone of the game is intended to be dark, and the themes mature and potentially disturbing. The game uses the 2nd Edition Shadowrun ruleset, with slight modifications, but it is not a Shadowrun campaign. It does not take place in the Shadowrun setting, there is no magic, and no other fantasy or supernatural elements. It takes place in the real world that we know, in the very close year 2022, but with the secret existence of some advanced technology that is probably not possible in reality. It is not a cyberpunk setting, but contains some cyberpunk-like tech elements on a limited basis. These elements are unknown to the world populace at large and have not influenced culture. The game centers on the struggle of a small, independent group of covert vigilante operatives against the worldwide criminal organizations that engage in human trafficking, extortion, intimidation, and murder on a large scale. The protagonists are assumed to be apolitical, extragovernmental, international, morally grey, but heroic in their aims and motivations. Each player character comes from a narrowly-defined shared background, that of former victims of the same kind of villains that they now work against. Each is a survivor of human trafficking and other terrible crimes. Making a character for Steel Spectres is largely accomplished by answering a series of questions in the Lifepath, which define narrative elements of the character's backstory as well as providing the bulk of their initial abilities." Will be run on Roll20 + Discord. Here's the full player's document, with all of the special rules and the Lifepath-based character generation: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qDtB4ZR__jtN81Yo-hraWgBHyDx5aggW Not looking to start it right away, need at least a couple of weeks to set things up, days and times are flexible and to be determined based on the interested players.
