Setting: Faerun, long after the Phlyagiston of Spelljammer cools into void space, long lost fragments of races that formed entire star empires arrive in faerun. Landing, and taking orbit, these Space Elves, Dwarvs, Halflings, as well as other new races, visit their ancestral homeworld, so long locked away and lost. If your unfamilar, Spelljammer was a setting of Wooden Boats and Sail in Space, traveling planet to planet. This setting continues from that, when the prismatic energy that seperates solar systems (phlygiston) cools down into empty void space and the trapped races form planets elsewhere in the galaxy, before returning back to Toril millenia later. Story Party was with a halfling ship named The Hollow Hill, a space station/inn that had an accident and the Hilltopple MX-3000 ale Generation Module crashed to the planet, needing to be recovered by the party.  Halflings in this setting generally run the space stations named "Hearthstations" where whole maarkets operate.   They chased it down to the planet and found a Goblin named Tucker (also from space) and his crew were uniting and elevating local Orcs and Goblins. They got to the module first and got away with it. The party diverted when they discovered a local cult of baphomet was working to tear the veil and let in demons. The party stopped them and learned they were replacing local royalty with dopelgangers. That thread was then abandoned to go chase the Goblin, Tucker, who had taken the module and traded it for vast wealth to a local pirate king in the northern archpelago. The pirate King Kerian, talked peacefully with the party who paid to learn who he had traded it to. The party proceeded to that person, one Jungus Greenthumb, an odd and very drugged out wizard. He had some strange requests, but the party agreed to do them in order ro earn the module off of him, those tasks are 1) retrive some lost notes and give them to a gnome in waterdeep. 2) retrive 3 fragments of his friends sentience, so that he can hopefully restore them 3) retrive an item he has divined but can not name nor know where it is. The gnome he owes is Waterdeep likely can help if he was not owed. The party has finished 1) and are likely on the way to 2 or 3 next.  You can always go back to the doppelgangers and royalty, or the demons. There are alot of things going on.  The party just finished getting out of a dungeon they fell into via sinkhole, and are now coming out of in the jungles of Chult. Their goal now is to return the notes owed by Jungus Greenthumb to Anaxi in Waterdeep. Meanwhile on the Hollow Hill, the owner of the ship wants that module back so the profits can flow again, ale with overhead is cutting into the bottom line. And everyone is very very into drinking now, as a cobalt blue star appears in the sky, sunrise occurs an hour later, sunset occurs an hour sooner, and the tempature drops 10 degrees worldwide. From space, it appears that the sun itself is dimming.  -------------------------------- Current Party is level 7, going to at least 15-17. Yuan Ti Pureblood Divine Soul Sorcerer (boom cannon) Halfling Spacemarine/Doomslayer (fighter/barb with a megaman like arm that only shoots bolts of energy) Human Spacemarine (think terran space marine from starcraft) Elf Horizon Walker Ranger (not 100% sure what he is yet, just joined) ---------------------------------------- Rules I allow the use of spells from "The Book of Lost Spells, 1e flavor with 5e rules", "Dark Matter" from MageHandPress that adds a bunch of Sci-Fi things as additives to 5e. Races, Archtypes for each class, ect.  I also have some other PDFs that i use for things in various modules from Baldur's Bones (a dice game in universe) to Siegeball (a form of football, complete with feats and rules for aquatic and zero-g forms) Races/Class is all offcial 5e otherwise. Most UA can be possible. Selectivly OKing outright homebrews.
