It'd be really nice if you could transfer maps (e.g.generic battle maps) from one campaign to another.

You can using the transmogrifier.  You can find it under My Settings in game and scroll to the bottom.  Click on it, choose the game you want to copy from and transfer anything you want, maps, characters, handouts, etc..
