Help with Arden Vul Mega Maps and roll 20 dynamic lighting

I am currently running a module called The Halls of Arden Vul. The maps are freely available online for the module and I converted the first level. Here it is well zoomed out. It was a ton of work but my players loved it. Unfortunately the lower levels are literally HUGE.. like 160 keyed areas huge. (See the maps here if you're interested. https://ardenvul.com/ ) As you can see they are just blue and white old school. I have already had to figure out several tricks to get roll20 to behave just with the map below, one of which was building the map in roll 20 over the top of the blue and white using pieces from the Excellent Vile Tiles by Gabriel Pickard (https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/2121/vile-tiles-dungeon-mapper) then screenshotting it and re-combining all the pieces in Photoshop to make a flat graphic with all the elements I wanted. Then I just did my dynamic lighting map over that. I have no idea how to get the lower levels of this dungeon done on one map, and breaking each level up into lots of VTT areas in Roll20 seems like a nightmare for the players wandering around crossing zones... If anyone has any tips I'd be keen to hear. Also, wow dynamic lighting is a lot of work.
Doing maps 'by hand' can be quite time consuming. I have found it easier to to with Dungeon Painter offline and import the image, though Gabriel Picard is a master cartographer so I might be tempted to use his works. There is no easy way to do custom maps. I was unable to access the maps on the links you provided, but if they're anything like the one on the landing page, I'd say your definitely going to need to break them up in to smaller pieces.
Hey Patrick, Thanks for the insights. I have never heard of Dungeon Painter so will check it out. It's a big task and it does appear from what I have read elsewhere that cutting the maps up might be the only way. :-(

I did. I bought it. Looks great AND there is a way to integrate all the roll20 assets I have bought. Looking forward to making some killer maps :-)
Dungeondraft is also another excellent option. I've found it much easier to use than DPS, despite it still being in an alpha state. Only downside is currently you cannot use custom assets.
Thanks Charles. I'll check that one out too... although I have to admit I love the Vile Tile sets and I built the first level out of them, so without custom assets it's probably not going to appeal to me as much.
