This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $8 USD per player per a 3-hour session via Paypal, prior to each session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. First session is free . About the Module: Adventurers are mysteriously drawn to the realm of Barovia which is surrounded by deadly fog and ruled by the vampire wizard Strahd von Zarovich. This gothic adventure takes the players on a course through Barovia that culminates with a vampire hunt inside Castle Ravenloft. Using a deck of tarokka cards, the Dungeon Master can randomize parts of the adventure such as the identity of a powerful ally, the placement of important magic items across Barovia, and Strahd's location. This adventure module is designed to take four to six player characters from 1st level to 10th level. About the DM: I have many years of experience with adventures and themes of Dungeons and Dragons with two years of being a Dungeon Master on the Roll20 Platform. In those two years I have run numerous campaigns, including modules and long-term homebrew adventure, as well as dozens of arena-type games. I've played with both old and new players, helping many to have a better time experiencing the gift that I consider D&D to truly be. I try to stick to the core rules, but I adapt to the changes in environment and to the players when the situation requires me to do so. I'm fine with UA and optional rules (except mystic). I adore roleplaying, but I understand players that tend to do things in a little quieter way. Rules: ✪ For voice chat we use discord. No need for cameras. ✪ Be friendly towards your fellow players and try to cooperate with them when in need. ✪ New players and veterans alike are welcome. I will gladly help people when asked. ✪ All official content as well as 99% of UA is fine by me. In case of using UA the DM must have a link to the utilized document. ✪ Since this is a paid campaign, attendance is expected. However, life is not always easy, and I realize that there might come a time when a player won't make it. If this happens after the payment is made, the credit goes towards the next session or I can try to return the money. Do keep in mind that missing a session directly affects the other players. Application: If you are interested in joining the campaign, please fill out the information below and post it in this thread, leave them in the LFG post or send me them via private message: Name/Nickname (how do you wish do be called): Age: Experience: Preferences (what do you want to see): Triggers (what you do not want to see): Link to the LFP topic: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/267002/curse-of-strahd
We got two players already. There is space for three more.
I have a question if you're planning on going through the Death House or if you're skipping it. I've been in NINE failed Curse of Strahd campaigns now (Never making it past session 4 due to a variety of factors [DM's flaking or disappearing *6*, scams *2*, bad group camaraderie *1*]. I have been through that Death House NINE... times. I'm tired of it. I want to play the campaign. Haha! Thank you for seeing to my question. :)
I was actually tempted to skip the Death House and start off at level 3, jumping straight into the dark of Barovia.
Oh thank gods. I would love to play! I'll write an application shortly. :)
If you are interested in joining the campaign, please fill out the information below and post it in this thread, leave them in the LFG post or send me them via private message: Name/Nickname (how do you wish do be called): Pendulym/Rosyla/Ashley Age: 27 Experience: I have been playing for 20 years, as my uncle taught me at a very young age (7) how to play. By age 9, I was very, very good at AD&D 2nd Edition. I've been gaming ever since. I play only Humans, and it's not just in D&D, but also in World of Darkness (VTM or Mage 2nd Edition), Warhammer 40k, Exalted, Final Fantasy 14, World of Warcraft, Star Wars, and D20 Modern. Preferences (what do you want to see): I am looking for a mature DM who allows me to roleplay my character, and also will challenge me; A DM who respects backgrounds and storyline information, applying them to their world to make it fun for both them and me. I am also looking for a DM who can think big, and create really interesting storylines, with intelligent villains and plot . Please challenge me, and I'll strive to be your greatest player. Triggers (what you do not want to see): I roleplay it all, from the good to the bad to the dark. I am not afraid to roleplay whatever is put in front of me. My characters will respond in accordance to the situation.
Name/Nickname (how do you wish do be called): John Age: 28 Experience: I have both played and DM'd several one-shots, but no longer campaigns. I have tried lots of different game systems, so I'm familiar with the basics of D&D 5 but not an expert. Preferences (what do you want to see): I like coming up with strange character concepts and then roleplaying them faithfully. I want to see how the world and other people react to these characters. For example, a Warlock who swore an oath never to lie, but who actually uses this to his advantage because it means that everyone trusts him more easily and he can build a strong reputation. For me, roleplaying is not about talking in a funny voice, but about thinking through what my character would actually do in a given situation, even if it's unusual (so long as it's still fun, and not "take my riches and retire on a farm"). Triggers (what you do not want to see): I have no triggers in the psychological sense. However, it breaks my immersion when players or the DM do things that make no logical sense. For example, evil-aligned players who burn down a house for no reason even though they know it will attract the guards. Just because you are evil does not mean you are stupid and suicidal. Or when the DM tries to present us with a puzzle in a dungeon, and all I can think about is what went through the architect's head to build such an elaborate puzzle when a simple lock and key would be more secure, and far cheaper.
Only one slot left.

Additional intel - we are skipping the Death House (optional introduction adventure) and starting at level 3. Still one more open slot (we start a free first session in 4h 30m from the time this post is made).
