Improved Inventory

I play D&D 5e, but I think this suggestion could be generalized to any system. While it is nice that we can drag and drop items from the compendium to the character sheet, players cannot pass items between each others. There is also no easy way to put loot before the players and let them take what they want. I've experimented using cards or tokens - this works pretty well, except then I need to go to each player and drag and drop items from the compendium to them. And if I am using custom magic items, having to manually enter the items on each player's sheet is tedious and interrupts the flow of play. Having some way to tie an item from the compendium to a token, so players could drag it from the map to their sheet to take it would be really slick.
