New and nervous. Unsure how or where to start. Lfg

Hiya. I'm 29 and have 14 years of playing written collaborative games. But never Dnd. I'm dying to try. I'm a role player naturally. I also come to the table with a concept I wanna try to slip into the game and a pc that goes with it. A child's thieves guild. And the young thief to go with it. If that doesn't interest anyone that's also alright. But I'd love to explore CR and development in a game like this whatever it is I end up doing.
Hey there new and nervous Nest Mother! Sorry to trouble you but I think you dropped this; https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/9702984/lfp-d-and-d5e-free-interest-check-the-far-lands-prodigies-new-players-and-first-timers-focused-2-slash-3-shot-games I know it's mine, but you look like you could use it more right now, have a nice day!
Hi, you might get better - or at least more focused - responses if you include information on what days/times/timezone you're available for. If you're available for 6:30pm Pacific to about 10:00 PM, I have an ongoing game that needs a 4th player. It is text-only, though, which I know some people don't prefer.
To be fair, a total newcomer might not know about editions and such. When I hear someone just say "D&D", I assume 5e.
