External Character Editor

It would be awesome to be able to look at and edit a character while outside of the actual game, and even be able to roll dice in the game from a character sheet while not inside it. Example 1; I could create a short cut to my character sheet then open it on my android or on a second PC. While I log into the actual game (maps and stuff) from another PC. Example 2; I could go in between sessions and play around on my character sheet update it, or even print it out without going into the game and dealing with the limited screen real-estate.
This is a good idea, may be related to this one and has my vote! Roll20 character sheets have a lot of sophisticated in game scripting and macros but, in terms of character management, accurately cresting levels and such HeroLab , PCGen and other character management tools are more mature. It's a pain to have to re-enter that data each time I update my character in other tools. The lack of options like this have prevented me from using all the character functionality in Roll20.
Just to make sure, you know you can pop out Roll20 character windows from the base tab, right? This way you can move them around, across monitors, or whatever works best for you real estate wise.

Yes, But I have found that when using my ultra-book (only has a 15 watt CPU) that things get real weird and I have tons of artifacting when I log into roll20. But If I could edit characters from outside of roll20 it would allow more management of the game and not waste as much precious in game time. This would also allow some updates from my phone, which logging into roll20 can be weird on as well.
This is a big deal if you have a character that is in a campaign world with multiple games. This means you must go into a game, update the PC, export the PC out to the vault then import that PC back into a different game. If characters could be worked on in the vault and then synched with the same character in a game this would solve the problem of having to clutter up the game log with tests of macros etc. In my case, I created a sandbox where I can test and update my PCs then export them back to the vault. This means constant deleting characters as they are updated.

Here's a popular, leading Suggestion thread that would (as originally conceived by Riley Dutton the Roll20 Developer inventor from the founding trio): https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1239660/finish-implementing-the-external-journal-feature Riley D. said: Finish it [the External Journal Feature] so that you can edit Characters and Handouts (including the new Character Sheets feature) outside of the game. Also adds another ability to keep your Characters and Handouts open in another window or on another screen. Please add your Comments and vote +1 on "External Journal Feature" thread if you agree with what Riley envisioned.
Cool, thanks
How about being able to import/export character sheets into roll20 from either pdfs or files similar to how you import images and tokens? Of course it would require individual character sheets to support each offline sheet template / or character gen software, but I'm sure this would be a big plus for both chargen software and Roll20 to support each other.
