Lighting flashes and thunder rolls. The waves batter your ship back and forth, crashing against the hull and washing over the deck. The driving rain lashes your crew as you fight against the storm and the sea to operate the rigging and get your ship to shore. The ship heaves as it crests and falls over huge waves. "Light! The Reef Tower is dead ahead! Hard to starboard!" You can see the light from the from the Reef Tower beacon winking dimly ahead through the storm, and your crew knows which way the ship needs to go to dodge the reef that's claimed so many ships traveling along this coast. You can't wait to get out of this storm and back onto dry land. Suddenly, there's a crash! The ship lurches violently! You're thrown forward, hitting your head against the deck. As consciousness leaves you, the sounds of the storm fading away, a fleeting thought passes, "Did we hit the reef? But that can't be. We followed the light..." Bad Light is a 3.5 edition D&D module from Wizards of the Coast that I've updated for 5th edition D&D. This adventure is a dungeon crawl with very little role-playing. This is a game for 4 players at level 4. We'll complete this adventure in a single session lasting 3-4 hours. We'll be using a 27 point buy for stats. You can choose a feat or ability score increase at level 4. Class equipment is available as inventory. Feel free to use any D&D official source material, except "Ravnica", "Eberron", "Theros", "Wildemount", and Unearthed Arcana. Also, feel free to import your own character! We'll be playing this game on Roll20, but we'll use Discord for audio. Players will receive the Discord server link when the start time approaches.
