The night air is chilly, but the crackling fire you've started warms your bones comfortably. Crickets chirp, and you smile up at the stars, glad for the quiet evening. There's a loud roar, and you are blinded momentarily as the campfire suddenly surges up into the air! The flames split down the middle, revealing an abyss that leeches the warmth from your soul. Out of this hellish portal stumbles a black-robed figure clutching a scythe. Quickly, you reach for your weapons. The strange apparition staggers for a moment. Then, gathering its strength, it pulls back the hood on its cloak. Beneath is a bleached skull with stars for eyes. It hisses, "I am Balrath, Devourer of Gods..." The Last Gods is a 3rd edition D&D module from Alderac Entertainment Group that I've updated for 5th edition D&D. This adventure is part mystery and part dungeon-crawler with a little bit of role-playing. This is a game for 4-5 players at level 9. We'll complete this adventure in a single session lasting 2-4 hours. We'll be using a 27 point buy for stats. You can choose feats or ability score increase at higher levels. Feel free to use any D&D official source material, except "Ravnica", "Eberron", "Theros", "Wildemount", and Unearthed Arcana. Also, feel free to import your own character! We'll be playing this game on Roll20, but we'll use Discord for audio. Players will receive the Discord server link when the start time approaches. Please have your character sheet ready to go at the start time! We're playing at level 9, so it'll take a while to create your character! GM DISCLAIMER - This dungeon is punishing. I mean like "touch the trap, you're dead, no saving throw" kind of punishing. Do NOT get attached to your character. Death is all but certain.
