How dare they forget us! Someday we will free our imprisoned god, Kurtulmuk. Praise be to our creator, Tiamat! You will see! You will see... Note: It is my experience that dynamic lighting can cause lag and other such issues and for this reason, I tend to use standard Fog of War in my games. I am looking for a party of 4 to 6. This campaign is meant to take players to high levels! Maybe beyond lvl 20. The average game will last about 3 to 3.5 hours with a break of about 10-15 minutes in the middle. Please see the listing to apply: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/312649/fizbans-lost-chapter-kobolds WELCOME! Hey, I’ll be your DM. I welcome everyone to my table to have fun and enjoy themselves but not at the expense of another. New players are of course more than welcome to join in the adventure. If you are a fan of D&D shows such as Critical Role, you have found a kindred spirit! I enjoy telling a good story and weaving character backstories in as much as possible. Depending on the desires of the group I will do that here. THE GAME Kobolds believe that they were created by Tiamat from the blood of dragons — a view supported by their reptilian (they would say draconic) appearance. In every kobold tribe, the legend of the creatures’ origin is passed down from elder to hatchling, giving each individual and every generation a reason to feel pride and self-respect. The kobolds prefer to run away than fight, to live off the scraps of others, and they are often dominated by larger humanoids, but they know that there is greatness within them and they are proud that they were chosen to be the blood-kin of dragons. Kobolds willingly serve chromatic dragons and worship them as if they were demigods — mighty beings of divine descent. This isn’t a casual sort of worship or lip service; kobolds are awed in the presence of a dragon, as if an actual avatar of a deity were in their presence. Kobolds fall all over themselves to obey orders from a dragon, even if they are dangerous orders. Although kobolds usually don’t worship Tiamat directly, they recognize her as the dragon-goddess of all chromatic dragons, and as the master of their racial god, Kurtulmak. Imagine my dismay when Kobolds did not make it into the Fizban's release! WELL! Here's to running a campaign meant to honor my favorite chaotic little shits. I have many ideas for metaplot but the game is going to be centered around a few key things: - Inspiration taken from Dragon Age in regards to darkspawn and archdemons - Some inspiration might be taken from the Rise of Tiamat and Hoard of the Dragon Queen for set pieces, but not the overall story. - All kobolds are and always will be devout followers of Tiamat. - Heavy utilization of the various mechanics from the Fizban book, including hoards and the types of dragons - Dragons, dragons and more dragons. Hoards! AAAAAH! - Draconic Feats and Gifts of the various dragons must be earned! - Ultimately, a fight against an Aspect of Bahamut. But with a twist! SETTING This game's setting is not fully set in stone but will operate under the default faerunian pantheon which includes Bahamut, Tiamat, and Kurtulmak. Dragons, while not common, are present as tyrants, deans of great libraries, mystics etc. Gem dragons keep themselves neutral. Chromatic dragons do not live so obviously for fear of being hunted by Tiamat's god-brother. Kobolds are an underdog culture that has long been mistreated and hunted by the greatest evils of all! Adventuring parties under the guidance of the betrayer Bahamut. But no longer! After one-too-many crimes against kobold-kind, seen in the first session, some among their number take it upon themselves to take things into their own claws. CHARACTERS - Don't make evil asshole characters! - Must be a kobold! Tasha's Custom Origin is an option and I will also be introducing variant kobold rules.
