As the title suggests, it's been a year since I've had a game going, and damnit I wanna get rolling again! I'm a gaming veteran, I've been playing since... well, it's been quite a while. As happens with most adults, though, I've had gaps ranging fro ma few months to a few years after groups break up, moves, etc. My last group was an in person group that transitioned to Roll20 with Covid. That campaign ended about a year ago, and I've been half-assed looking since then with mixed results. Well, the other half of the ass is getting involved now. So I'm looking for a casual group that still takes game night seriously. I'm talking we all have day jobs and other things in life, but can commit to one evening a week to game. I've DM'ed plenty before, but right now I'm looking to be a player. I'm wide open to the system, but figure Pathfinder or D&D5e are most likely as they are the most common. Regardless of system, I'm looking for a long term campaign. Homebrew is always awesome but I recognize not everyone has the time so modules/adventure paths are groovy too. Ideally I'd love the group to be comfortable enough with each other that we can at some point rotate campaigns, try out new systems, etc. As far as the game itself, as mentioned I'm open to pretty much any system. I'm more familiar with some than others, but really RP'ing is RP'ing and the system is just the mechanics. I'd like around a 50/50 split between combat and social/RP. Both are important, but campaigns that are primarily combat get dull fast. I'm perfectly comfortable playing both good or evil campaigns. I do not have any triggers, and am fine with any subject matter in the game, so long as it makes sense to the story. I'm good with voice only or video, play on Roll20 voice on Discord, or whatever. I'm in US Central time zone (UTC-6). I'm looking for a weekday game, Monday-Thursday. I'm thinking a 3-4 hour session give or take, and I'm available to start as early as 4pm central. Would prefer to be done by 10, 11 at the latest. I'm open to play with almost anyone, but for right now I do have a couple deal breakers. If you live breath eat shit gaming and have four games a week going I respect that but you're not who I'm looking for. The only demographic data I care about is your age. And that I only care that you're 20+. I'm all for getting the next generation involved, but I'm not looking for a kiddy game. I've never been good at these dating listings, but here's a bit about me. As mentioned, I'm a veteran player. I started with 1st ed AD&D. The bulk of my gaming has been with AD&D/D&D, Pathfinder, and Shadowrun, but I've played a lot of other stuff to varying degrees. Worlds of Darkness (Vampire, Werewolf), Rollmaster, L5R, Star Wars, 7 Seas just as an example. I tend to make a character with an interesting (to me at least) story. Sometimes that means the character is not optimized, but they are always contributing members of the party. Related, I play my character according to the personality and back story I've created for them. I take into account the overall campaign and setting though when creating my characters, so that's rarely an issue. A character that is a douche doesn't get invited to parties after the first one after all :) Alright, that was a lot of me rambling, hopefully it was at least somewhat coherent. If you're putting together a game (or have an open spot in one) that sounds like it would fit the above let me know!
