Nameplates keep disappearing.

Hi. Been having issues for the last few months with nameplates disappearing on my characters and tokens.  I'm finding the names are disappearing and only re-appear if I take the token and move it to the GM layer and then back again. I create characters and assign tokens to them, as I've always done. When I drag them out onto the page, the nameplates show fine.  At some point that stops working and I have to move to GM then back to get them to show again. On Player Tokens - they have a name assigned in the Nameplate box, the tick box to the right is ticked and the Player Permissions in General is set to See/Edit. For Monsters - similar to above except I remove the option for Players to see/edit. I don't think I'm missing anything obvious and have been using Roll20 for 2+ years without encountering this issue. Any ideas?

Hi Millertime, Please doublecheck that you have not turned on Hover. To find that go to My Settings tab (top right corner of the VTT), then click on Graphics, check to see if the "Hover to show token nameplate..." is turned on. 

One of the players in my group runs into this problem occasionally when he GMs. Some nameplates are visible to the players, but not to him, despite the token settings. The workaround we have been using is for him to reload the game. It's difficult to investigate, because I can't reliably reproduce it.

I've been having this same issue for a long time and have been using the same work-around (refresh the screen). NPC tokens aren't affected. Gauss said: Hi Millertime, Please doublecheck that you have not turned on Hover  Thanks Gauss - definitely don't have this on.  It's intermittent yet constant, and as per the other responses to this thread, seems like an issue that folk can only resolve by reloading the UI.   If there's anything I can provide to help this being investigated further, please let me know.  Hellova frustrating....

I agree, it would be frustrating.  I suggest filing a bug report via the Help Center . The Devs may be able to figure out what is going on.
