Why is this pink?

It's my understanding that some bits of the interface are being tweaked to prepare for the upcoming UI enhancements. The old light green is now assigned to whispers, for instance.
Why do the Devs keep looking for color combinations that are jarring to the eyes. A while back they deputed the garish pink on dead white that surely was made using a Geocities template. The actual interface is improving, nut the graphic design choices are baffling.

And IF they want to keep it, they shoud AT LEAST change the LINK COLOR: Cause Pink on Pink? NOT really good!!! (Especially not for those who are visually impared!) But oh well... contrast, what the heck is it?!
As for Dark Mode... there is a slight difference in color that is BARELY noticable (that is if you are not visually impared). Light Mode: Dark Mode:
That PINK is awful, and as for doing pink on pink writing, i'm sorry but April Fools Day is long past. Please, give us the option to choose the chat background colour, even if it is only from a limited pallet of options.

Wow... thought of exactly that and opened a thread in the suggestions forum for the option of color paletts...
The Pink was bad enough, but I've just (Not) seen the difference between the Blue fo rnormal rolls and the Green for Whispered rolls.  I actually thought the whisper hadn't worked until I checked the message itself and then saw there was a slight colour change in background of the text. Can any of you Stylus gurus help on this, I'd happily use stylus to set my own chat box colours if anyone could give me a start on the code so all I had to do was insert my own colour choices in the script.
It's very hard to get clear contrast using pastel colors, especially shades of green next to shades of blue, which is the most common type of color blindness. Maybe use a different font? It's even worse in dark mode, where the chat background changes from grey for normal to purple for whispers. I'm not colorblind, but my older eyes didn't even notice the difference until it was pointed out to me; I was just looking for the parentheses  - (GM) or (From ...) - to designate whispered text. When designing a UI, subtlety is not your friend.
