I'm an experienced veteran gamer hunting for a new long term game to get into, and am feeling something a little darker, grittier, than a typical high fantasy game. There may some rose tinted glasses involved here, but I really miss playing Shadowrun 15-20ish years ago. I'd love to find a modern or futuristic game, dystopian or noir feel. I do have some specifics I'm looking for, please see below: The specific games I'm looking for are Shadowrun (3rd or 5th), Cyberpunk Red, or maybe Vampire the Masquerade 5th. I name these because I'm at least passingly familiar with them and have at least core books. I'm willing to consider other systems, but they would be a case by case basis. Shadowrun 3rd is what I've played in the past. I have no actual table time with Shadowrun 5th, Cyberpunk, or VtM 5th. This leads into the next point: I'd prefer a group that is mostly new or newish to the system. Whatever we end up playing, I'm going to be either rusty or new to it. I know I'll pick up whatever we're playing pretty quick, but being the only newbie in a group of experienced players adds a bit of stress I'm not really looking for right now. I'm very open to a diverse table. I welcome any and all to any table I belly up to. The way I see it, being cool or being a douche are not limited to any particular group of people. so long as you're mostly more cool than douche, let's play! The only exception to the above is 18+. I've played with younger players before, but for this type of game, I'd require 18+. I'm looking for a weekday evening or maybe weekend early afternoon game. I'm CST, Minnesota, and work from home since Covid, so am available to start as early as 15:30 and am good to play as late as 22:00 to 22:30ish on weekdays, so any time in there. I could probably do a late morning/early afternoon weekend game, but that wouldn't be my preference. So I know those are some pretty limiting asks, and to be honest I'm not holding my breath. But...
