Running !uvtt does nothing

August 28 (4 months ago)

Hello, I've been importing maps and uploading .DD2VTT files to the sanitiser, pasting into GM notes on my map and typing !uvtt into the chat window while the graphic is selected for months now. I've never had a problem up until these last couple weeks. No matter what I do, typing !uvtt just does nothing.

The page has dynamic lighting on, the token is the right dimensions (60x65) the VTT file has been sanitised, nothing happens.

I don't know what to do and honestly, I don't know why I'm paying for Pro if this is the only feature of it I use, and I'm not able to use it.

Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Genevieve.

Hi Genny,

It sounds like you are using an extension and/or Mod (API Script).

If it is an extension please contact the maker of the extension.
If it is a Mod, please repost in the Mods (API Scripts) forum and indicate which one you are using.

I'm using the exact instructions for importing vtt files that you can find here:
https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/11038224/script-update-universalvttimporter-import-dd2vtt-files-to-create-dynamic-lighting-lines-lights-and-windows/?pageforid=11038224#post-11038224

Not a mod or extension, I believe. So I don't know what's going on. Typing !uvtt --help into the chat doesn't do anything anymore either.

That is a Mod called UniversalVTTImporter, please make sure you have it installed in your game.

You can do that by going to Roll20.net, click the name of your game, click settings, click Mod (API) Scripts. Then click the dropdown menu and enter the name of the script you want. Select it and click Add Script.

Go into your game and it should be available now. If you already had the game open you may want to refresh the game.

If it is already installed, you may need to restart the API Sandbox. You can also do that from the Mod (API) Scripts section above.

Also, are you using this in a Jumpgate game? Creation of vector lines changed in Jumpgate. I believe the API base code has been amended to interpret old-style commands, but I'm not sure.

Just for the record, anything with starts with ! is only for MODs, the roll20 name for scripts, and the script needs to be installed. It's not an innate part of roll20.

Thank you for trying to help me. I do appreciate it. I don't remember doing anything like installing a mod to my game, but I obviously must have at some point, like you all say.

When I go to the mod library for my game it says this:

Your scripts are currently disabled due to an error that was detected. Please make appropriate changes to your script's code and click the "Save Script" button. We will then attempt to start running the scripts again. More info... If this script was installed from the Mod Library, you might find help in the Community API Forum.
For reference, the error message generated was: Possible infinite loop detected, shutting down.

Am I able to delete and re-install the mod to fix this? Thank you again for your help, I'm sorry I sounded so difficult before.

When I get this error (and I do on occasion) restarting the sandbox usually clears it. Since this error happens so rarely, I haven't bothered to look for which of the 30 MODs that I have loaded are causing it.

I face this error every so often. Usually restarting the sandbox clears it for me, too :)
