🎲 New D&D/TTRPG Europe Discord server [18+] [Looking for players/DMs] [🍃 Beginner friendly]

I eventually joined my first game (DM'd by my younger sibling) and have since taken over as DM since they can't keep up with the workload. Our group also doesn't meet very often, once a month at best. I want/need more experience as a player, and this looks like a good way to get into a game that's happening maybe once every two weeks or so. Finally, a question: It says that the server is 18+. Is that just meant to filter out teens/children or is ERP the implied default for games?

• Name: Amitai • Age: 27 • Country: Israel • What's your experience: Played 3rd edition when I was a kid, and recently came back to the hobby at 5th edition and re-learned it from scratch. I fell in love with D&D again, and I'm pretty comfortable now with rules and gameplay. • Anything else about yourself (Optional): There are multiple types of players, but I'd call myself a plot enthusiast, not a min-maxer or a powergamer. I was playing in the past few months in a West March server that was competitive and intolerant of mistakes. My style is more similar to classic Critical Role, wer'e all friends, zero ego. I hope I can find such a group.

So I joined the server just now and almost immediately found out that it's a right-wing place filled with "anti-woke" and borderline racist memes (it describes itself as "OG XBOX CoD lobby" in one of its rules ffs...) I'm leaving this message here to warn away others who might fall into this trap.

• Name: Pepe  • Age: 21 • Country: Germany • What's your experience: been playing since 6 - ish years and writing a bit longer than that • Anything else about yourself (Optional): I really enjoy DMing homebrewed worlds and adventures I write myself. Experienced with dnd 5e and htbah, dipped into cyberpunk red and really enjoyed that too, always open for new systems :) Big fan of focusing on story and creative homebrew stuff to make it more like an open story to tell together rather than playing a video game with set rules. This isn't relevant beyond that I am over 18. • Country: UK • What's your experience: Over 15 years, running many games, from DnD 3rd Edition, through to 5th 2014 and many different systems in the same time period. I most enjoy the World of Darkness multi-D10 system, as I find single-dice systems very random. I'm happy to play whatever system, although Ive spent far too many years being a forever-GM, and Id like to play. • Anything else about yourself (Optional): I prefer sandbox, homebrew games, although well-run pre-mades can be a lot of fun! My characters when I get a chance to play them lean towards the erudite and/or magical, and solutions lean away from violence. Ive both played and run games that never saw combat, although I generally lean towards including some combat, however I'm not interested in running or playing games that are 90%+ combat, I can play computer games for that. The longest running game I GM'd I home brewed and lasted over 5 years, DnD 5th 2014, running from level 1 to 7. The longest game ive played was Vampire the Masquerade (2nd Ed) running over 3 years, but that transitioned to a Vampire Dark Ages playing our character's sires. Ive played: GURPS, Wrath and Glory, Shadowrun, Pathfinder, DnD 2nd through 5th 2024, World of Darkness systems, Mutants and Masterminds, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Alien and probably a load of other systems that I've forgotten.  Im open to any system, any level of experience, and maybe running a game for a group I am comfortable with first, although as I said Id prefer to play.

Name: Brandon Age: 32 Country: Canada Experience: Been playing 5e since its release back in 2014. About 85-90% of the time i have been a DM. Very rarely get to be a player and when I do, its usually only One-Shots. Have never had a full campaign to grow and develop any personal chars. Helpful info: I work afternoon to evenings. So i can only play Mornings. However, being EST (gmt-5) that hopefully isnt an issue for groups across the big pond? Timeframe is from 7am-12pm est almost any day.
