Ken S. said: +1, as I read this it's really a request for a "map only" display, so that what gets projected doesn't have anything (macro buttons, avatars, control bars etc) overlying the map itself. I don't play physical-table anymore, since a number of my group is now remote, but I've thought about doing a hybrid game with a smaller local group at a table in addition to remote, and I think this would be really useful for that, so I'm tossing a vote at it. If this is a pop-out from a player, ideally it would need to suppress "player-specifc" stuff (things visible due to that player's permissions, like health bars, auras, etc) as you might not want to share that with others at the physical table (many won't care, but some players don't want others to know what they're up to, rogues in particular). If it was done as a second page the DM could move to another "screen" (projector), it would also need to be a "players view" of some kind, since otherwise it would show GM-layer info. (of course, using a second account on another computer can just let you use a "player" accoutn and avoid the DM info). In either case, I'm not sure how you'd handle vision with lighting, as one player can see things others might not. There might need to be options for "sum all party vision" (OR function) and "show only what everyone can see" (AND function). Yes, that could be a way of doing it. The way I worded it allows for more versatility in certain setups, such as the ones my friends and I use.
