Treasure / Loot Distribution

I will be posting in this thread each week with the loot/distribution from each session just in case anyone forgot to write something down. If you have any questions or variations from the list send me a PM and I will adjust. Cool, thanks for doing that Chris. I don't remember the black sooted stone or the alchemist's spellbook -- either those come after I left last night, or I've caught amnesia from Sandoval.

Well spotted Gray . We played for 15 minutes after you left that day. Airen found both those items. Black sooty stone was in the dead alcehmist /skeleton's hand, and he gave that to Kryikh . Spellbook was hidden in a secret drawer in the desk, and you guys will examine / determine / learn of its spell contents later this week before next session. Note To Players About The Loot: Still put your claimed treasure on your Character Bio in-game. Use this thread for discussion and distribution, but make sure you write what's ultimately yours, on your Character Bio Tab in-game, week to week. The DM wants every Player-Character to write your personal share of the treasure on your character in-the-game. It's a small, significant stat to keep up with. Remember you are relieved from tracking encumbrance in this game (saves you time). GP is the one thing that we will count-up for weight/encumbrance in the long-run when you are wealthy in the game. I want each PC to collect their own stash of cash and show it on your Bio tab. Happy Adventuring $$$

Chris can you correct the loot table. Torvald only filled his water-skin with whisky. Carrying around a barrel's worth is a little much for a dwarf; no matter how much he enjoys drinking.
Lol... if you climb in the barrel we can roll you around. It could work.
Worked in the Hobbit...
A real dwarf would have taken the barrel!

Star Gazer said: does some 1 in the party know how to sew for one of their NWP'S I want to make belt pouches for that powder to be given to the healers. Kaz, Jaxon and Beartram and to Sandoval Belt pouches are a good idea for that, since each pouch could hold a couple doses (applications) of the Pirate Powder of Coagulation (heals 1-2 HP, brings you back to 1HP if you're at 0HP or less, can be mixed with pirate whiskey for a stronger Pirate Potion of Healing). Like you said, have a party member make pouches for now. In town you can buy belt pouches already made, for pennies.

+500 XP (June 2 session aboard The Sea Ghost pirate ship, subdued the pirate captain) For the 4 who attended this session: Hans, Solid, Star Gazer, Gray Chris Airen could not attend. They didn't collect much loot, opting to "clear the ship" first, and go back for loot later. Kaz threw a couple pirate bodies overboard (unlooted) after blessing the bodies with holy water. This attracted 2 kinds of sharks, which we will see about next session. However Torvald stepped in and cautioned against throwing more bodies overboard just-yet, so they laid the rest on the forecastle deck, for now. Looking forward to playing again next week!

Thanks for posting that, Solid. I like how you distributed the wealth. There was considerable coinage this week thanks to looting the treasure chest under the Pirate Captain's leather couch that contained payment for an arms shipment. The distribution of Potions is good. Kaz & Airen , be sure to keep note of those that you have (Cure Disease and Neutralize Poison, respectively). Those kind of items only comes useful every once in a while, but when you need it, it's good to know who has such a curative beverage. Distribution of the magical weapons, finer weapons, and any armor -- of course, as Torvald described. First rank is PC who can use an item. If anyone can use the item, SPEAK UP saying that you want it, and if 2 people want the same item then we will decide together in a rotation considering the party's greater benefit and equality. Whatever you do, please don't miss a chance to show interest in an item that your character would actually want. Make sure you claim items that are a good fit for your character. Second rank of inheritance: any henchman or NPC who wants it, who can use that kind of weapon or armor. Third rank: Sell the items in-town if no one needs it, and then split the proceeds equally. Chainmail Shirt & Helmet, most likely goes in the SELL pile, unless anyone speaks up otherwise. They aren't magic, in this case. Most PC's and NPC's already have their nonmagical armor set. Torvald retaining the Pirate Captain's Fine Cutlass and Scabbard is fine. Nonmagical but can be sold for gold, or kept for status. Fine weapons, in this campaign, are visibly better, and can have narrative effects (albeit nonmagical). ITEMS that the DM may give additional information: Magical Slippers (not identified, Sandoval ) Bearskin Carpet ( Kaz and Beartram )

Hey, you failed to mention I sold an arrow for 2gp! =) my first ever sale!
Hans, also remember Kryikh gave Sandoval a Potion of Delusion: Potion of Delusion This potion appears to be another sort of potion, and it tastes and smells just like that potion. Sampling produces a sensation that mimics that of the other potion. Drinking the potion causes a wave of bliss to ripple through the imbiber. Effect: You believe you have consumed another potion and behave as though affected by that potion for as long as that effect normally lasts, until something happens to reveal the truth, or until you take a long rest. For example, if the delusion is of a potion of healing, you believe you have healed until proven otherwise. If the delusion is of a potion of flying, you might skip along the ground or leap from a rooftop in the belief that you can fly. Rarity: Rare.
That is so awesome! Thanks for the description Gray
Contracting fatal swamp disease: terrifying and expensive. Free Giant Frog Leg Cookout in the marketplace: priceless Therapy bill for Bullywug Party Member: terrifyingly expensive. Comedically: pricelesss.

I'll point out several other things as well... the giant frog skins are valuable base material for waterproof items and can be used for making magical items related to water, speed and dryness. The tongues can be used for items that give reach or returning. Also, the slain ogres are a resource for magical components, most especially, elements for Gauntlets of Ogre Strength and the like.
Loot Distribution 7/21 Session (If you have any issues of how it was distributed just let me know. Be sure to add these items to your character sheet before they are forever, lost) For those who left early be sure to add your XP for the session: +470 XP (July 21 session, journals and art, Constrictor snake and 3 crocs) Torvald Shield +1 - (Agents Of Shield Shop) 40GP - (croc hides) Sandoval Completion of moonbow - (Portlandio) 40GP - (croc hides) Mora Hip Boots - (Portlandio) Net +1 - (Torvald) 40GP - (croc hides) Horukh 40GP - (croc hides) Airen 40GP - (croc hides)
If anyone is interested, a number of other things affected my 'loot level' the previous session. Whenever I earn or spend gold I note it, and try to make the total correct somewhere between sessions. I won't post the result every week but you can see it on my character sheet. +40gp croc hides, -5gp spent on a scribe's services, -5gp spent on a courier's services, -100gp information network upkeep. -15gp spent on hip boots.

My wife brought this treasure as a gift to me from her vacation. Leather cover, hand-made, even the paper. It is so awesome! It will definitely be used for D&D, but I'm not sure yet how exactly. Suggestions?
You could use it as a scrapbook for the Adventure Journals and pictures from this game! Copy & paste the entries into an editor, reformat to fit the page, alter the font if you feel like it, print the items out & use a repositionable adhesive to paste them into the book. It'll be like a greatest hits album... of your greatest hit-taking.
Save it for your loving portraits of Torvald's beard.

These are some recent Wealth amounts reported by PC's, according to DM audit of Character Bio Tabs. NOTE: Some totals are before Swamp Trolls lair treasure, others are including that amount. WEALTH (in coins and currency, not counting items or other real property) Horukh -- The Noble Birdman plans to hire an accountant to tabulate his uncounted coinage reserves. He simply doesn't have the time to count his money, considering all these distracting visions and adventuring trepidation. Horukh also has a fair amount of money "on paper" at the House Of Coin. On the other side of the balance sheet, he retains various employees, henchmen, debtors, and beneficiaries, drawing regular pay-outs. Kryikh -- 929 GP Airen -- 758 GP Sandoval -- 917 GP Torvald -- 603 GP Mora -- 541 GP

NOTE: Horukh wants to bargain with Sam for this item.
Though it is not Horukh's style at all, I would love to comment that the Ebony Fly statuette is a super cool magic item for someone in the party to use, since it will allow them to use it as a flying steed for 120 minutes a day... and it can fight/harass/blockade too. A Giant Fly can be REALLY annoying and fast. Horukh would sure like that Necklace of Adaptation. With it and the Ring of Swimming paired up, he could become a seriously fast underwater buffer, because a 120 speed would allow him to pop touch spells on party members however we're spread out. In roleplaying terms, Horukh would love it, because he'd be able to "fly" underwater and breathe, versus having been a landbound naval architect and sailor who can't swim. His fear of drowning would be eased up and he'd be emboldened. Nostalgia... gawd I remember when we introduced Ioun Stones into D&D. It was because of a reference in a Tolkein line about an elven lord that had glowing stones as a sort of floating crown.

Necklace Of Adaptation was desired by Sam (the Lizardman Savant), Sam asked Airen for it, and Airen gave it to him! So Horukh would want to bring that up in RP parlay with Sam next session. Perhaps you can trade something to the Samurai for it? The first Figurine Of Wondrous Power found in the campaign (Airen's Ebony Fly) is our own modified version for the Homebrew World, I gave Chris the exact stats for it. Airen felt an affinity for the fly item. He's got a Giant Fly that can be used once per month for 12 hours (so every 4th session he can use it again). Basically as Larry described, but this particular Giant Fly is timid in attacking. It will only attack certain kinds of creatures (known to the DM) and in certain situations. It is fast in the air. It's happy to bear the Bullywug Conjurer as a 200-pound rider, flying. Secret information about 2 types of magic items: There are more Figurines Of Wondrous Power that can be found in this continent, in these adventures. 1. Figurine Of Wondrous Power: Ebony Fly 2. Figurine Of Wondrous Power: _________ ? 3. Figurine Of Wondrous Power: _________ ? There are more Ion Stones floating around too, so to speak. These particular kinds of magic items exist in series & are specifically tailored and altered for Homebrew World.
I do plan on making a swap for it. I like that samurai.. he seems gentlemanly. I love the animation up there. In my head I imagine 80s metal, done as a chiptune, that he's headbanging to. :)

DM Changes / Updates to this week's treasure-loot distribution AND XP. I neglected my own guidelines on a couple areas, and I just want to go ahead and correct it now. Sorry about any extra book-keeping to record these changes. I've taken the liberty to Edit Chris' treasure post above, so the errata is incorporated. There are 2 new Magic Items discovered from today's session, announced in this message, so read on to the bottom. Session XP changed from +685 to +690. Everyone gets 5 more XP (if you had already put the lower XP on your Bio). Those who haven't recorded the XP yet, take the 690 of course. I've edited Chris' post to reflect this. The reason is straight-forward, I don't want to give "5" XP amounts, I'm keeping it to even 10's for simplicity, and I don't want to interrupt that pattern now. GP reward slightly increased so everyone who took Gold Pieces got +419 GP, instead of 418.5. I've changed Chris' post to reflect this also. It's optional if you want to correct your character bio for this. My thinking, again, I'm steering away from technical math like half-gold-pieces. Round up to the nearest full GP. I've changed the Color of the first ION STONE to Mirrored Metallic (I had misread my notes when I said it appeared "Deep Red", that's a different Ion Stone). It is a Mirrored Metallic Ion Stone Of Perception. Kryikh gets that item. Additionally I decided to Fast-Forward and give you the other 2 Ion Stones that are hidden in the Mud Men's treasure . These are the remaining 2 circles of Magic that Horukh detected. The 3 Ion Stones go to the 3 PC casters in the present party: Kryikh, Airen, and Horukh. Note that non-spellcasters can also potentially use Ion Stones, however, some of the other PC's were reluctant to display a magical stone floating in orbit around their heads. Since Mora and Torvald explicitly declined to touch-claim the first Ion Stone, and Sandoval was absent but predicted to feel similarly, I took the liberty of negotiating out 1 Ion Stone each for our 3 casters (Transmuter, Conjurer, and Cleric). Ion Stones in Homebrew World (sometimes written: Ioun Stones) Ion Stones are remnants of an earlier, ancient system of magic item creation. All Ion Stones in the Homebrew World are round spheres, of different materials and colorations. These magical stones must float in the air orbiting between 1-3 feet from the head of the owner, to be of any use. The owner may seize and stow the stones (at night for example) but loses the benefits when the stone is not orbiting his head. If the stone is attacked directly, an Ion Stone has AC 16 and HP 10. Mora, Torvald, and Sandoval --- you'll have your field day with magic-item hauls someday too. At least everyone got good cash this week. Airen learns Airborne Riding NWP from his Giant Fly, using the Intelligence gleaned from a Pale Green Glowing Ion Stone that orbits the bullywug's head. Somewhere there is a faerie dragon on an Ion Stone, on a bullywug on a Giant Fly, on a shark.
