I'm excited to be considered for a fun and exciting campaign. A perfect situation would be to play D&D on Saturday mornings (EST). I have created several different character concepts for many different classes. The background system in 5e makes it really easy, in my opinion, to get your imagination turning in creating a character. Please see my profile for an example of what I am capable of in character creation. I am definitely open to creating a new character to fit in your campaign and/or home brew setting. I am 37 years old, I live in Indianapolis. I played mostly 2nd edition (AD&D before that) when I was a teenager into my college years, before everyone started having real life issues and meeting up for regular gaming was just impossible. I was the guy who knew most of the rules off of the top of my head because I'd read the books and found the memorization pretty easy, or I at least knew where to quickly look something up. I have seen 3rd edition, but was a bit turned off by how much more complicated the game started to get. I have been catching up on the new 5th edition and am really excited for the new system. I have the core books, and have been obsessing over them since they came out. I'd be nice to get a bit of the old nostalgia going, but with new friends. I have been playing in many games of 5e, all through Roll20, but as you may have noticed, there is a high drop-off rate from players in Roll20, so it is hard to get a pick up group of strangers to really STICK. I attempted a weekday game that I DM'd, but had the same problems with keeping players (plus I was offered overtime to work during the week), so I ended that game. As far as I am concerned, I think the new 5E system is a great combination of ideas from different editions and has a nice "old school" feeling that I personally enjoy. Some questions for DMs: - Are uncommon races (half-elf, dragonborn, etc.) allowed? - Is the human variant allowed? - Is multi-classing allowed? - Are feats allowed? - How are we doing stats? Standard Array, Point Buy, Other? - I know some think these last 5 questions are nitpicking questions, but I actually see them as essential to the creation of the CHARACTER concept. - If it is a new game are we doing a session zero for character creation? Lately, I have been preferring having a session like that, both to build the group and to figure out expectations. - How are we communicating? My preference is a voice chat like Skype, Google Hangouts, or Teamspeak, etc. I have a working mic and all that. - How much RPing is there? I think my taste is for a medium level of RPing. On the RP-light side, though, I do not have the temperament for people who want to play a meta-game with their characters and are only 100% combat focused. - How much are we doing theatre of the mind? This has been growing on me, as it helps me imagine the characters doing actions, rather than just the tokens moving around. I am very much still open to highly mapped games, though. If if sounds like I would be a good fit for your campaign, I'd look forward to hearing back from you. Best, Aaron S.
