We will be transitioning soon to 1IC Desnus -  Phase 3 - Exploration & Crafting We have a new  CRAFTING GUIDE we are working to put out for you but it may be later than today coming online.    If you have questions about crafting please feel free to ask a GM online or PM Ian or I When the new crafting guide goes in effect it should be much easier to turn a profit with crafting and get more stuff for sale on the island. Remember, if you have an active booth in the  MARKET please feel free to fill that up as you craft items but items cannot be sold until PHASE 4 If you are traveling and have a random encounter there is a place under the map to run those.  Please let a GM know that you need a random encounter set up by posting in the  RANDOM ENCOUNTERS thread.  Randoms are determined by using the  RANDOM ENCOUNTERS LIST Remember if you are traveling you need to move your avatar or exploration group icon along on the map.  Once you return to town you can move it You cannot participate in building and shopping if you are not back in town for PHASE 4 so remember to travel back to town or use your  HONING STONE .  PM me if you use this stone with a percentile roll
The compendium has been added to roll 20 .. when you rejoin the VTT you will see this as an option on the right side where chat and options are ..  This should be a great tool once they integrate it with character sheets for monsters .. A step in the right direction.  This should be available to all GMs and players.

Since we are now doing 1 month of downtime at a time we are reinstating the /10 rule for goods and gold when generating capital.  
We are now in PHASE 3.  Please take your PHASE 3 actions including posting any downtime activities for Exploration.  If you are in the DUNGEON please finish out your work there and then you can be moved by request to the Phase 3.  Simply move your token back to the dungeon stair and post that you leave the dungeon on the main dungeon page.  Then get a GM to move you back to the map page for Phase 3. I am working to improve navigation by providing an update to the journals ..  You will now find phase journal handouts as well as guide handouts that will link you to the forum locations to find relevant information. This is a work in progress but there are already some links.  I will continue to update this this week. Here is an  example of Crafting since many players have been asking how to properly do this Remember gaining Capitol now uses the /10 rule which has been re-instated.

The Sareneth Cycle will begin soon.  You will notice that the phases have been modified (we will be editing the VTT today) and that there are specific times for completing different objectives each cycle.  For example, DOWNTIME should be posted in your log until Phase 3 (Which is now Events) This will be after exploration is completed.  Feel free to track your exploration days in your log ahead of time but it will become OFFICIAL at the END OF Phase 3.  I will be covering information for this weeks cycle throughout the day today CRAFTING:  Crafting has been made much easier .. The CRAFTING GUIDE outlines the new way to do this DOWNTIME:  Posting will become WAY easier.  I am going to require you post in a certain template so that the auditing process can go smoothly I will be posting the DOWNTIME TEMPLATE soon. Mission Sign Ups Are Now Available!  (sorry it took this long - we have systems in place to make this faster next cycle) We will begin missions tomorrow Slot 1.  Setups will be available tonight A LIST Of Missions  Sign up on the VTT under the journals!  DO NOT POST IN THE MISSION THREADS! New  Crafting Gide is Posted.  Please Read them and make sure you understand how crafting is going to work.  You will be able to do a very easy post for your crafting downtime and even use a multiplier for days.   Agela's Downtime Log (still under construction) has an example ..and shows an entire month of downtime done in 7 lines. This will be explained in greater detail this week. This is the  downtime storage for the information for Agela & LB that makes it super easy Agela stores her Crafting Pool and Building Pool on her  shop page .  
Our mission sign ups look good. We should be running The Hills Have Homes, A Bigger Anteater and Kobold Stronghold.  The ones we have are pretty full.  If you still want to go on a mission but did not sign up yet you can sign up in one of these or get a group and we will add a 4th mission.  If you are signed up for a mission you should begin posting anytime after your GM starts that mission for you.  Good Luck!

BUILDINGS UPDATED From Desnus TOWN MAP Updated From Desnus Please check the buildings page and make sure anything you built was added. You should be following the instructions on this page to add buildings and rooms to the town.
As we move to PHASE 2 tomorrow (EXPLORATION PHASE) Scouting times have been changed to  Time used for scouting is based on your scouting check 0-10 = 16 hours, 11-20 = 12 hours, 21-30 = 8 hours, 31+ = 4 hours Travel Encounters have been changed to balance these better. Read  TRAVEL ENCOUNTERS - HAZARDS & MONSTERS for more details Random Encounter MP Rewards Your Player APL - 3 or more than encounter CR= 0 MP This encounter may be ignored and bypassed Your Player APL +/- 2 of the encounter CR = 1 MP this encounter may be fought or ran from Your Player APL +3 or more than the encounter CR = 2 MP this encounter should be run from.  GMs should try to kill the players if they choose to fight. Ex.  Level 4, 5 and 6 fight an encounter.  Their APL = (4+5+6)/3 =5.  The encounter is CR 2 so they would get 0 mp They choose to bypass it and move on without running the encounter.  The treasure and MP is not worth it. I was fiddling with GM awarding treasures appropriate to encounter BUT we are going to be Rolling on the Treasure Cache table this cycle and let the players divide their own rewards.  As an option, the GM running the encounter may give out treasure appropriate to the encounter or roll and use the treasure cache table.   Cache table can be found in  encounter tables .   Some points to clarify Roll your travel % for the hex you are traveling INTO If you choose to run away you waste the day in downtime (just leave it at that) and return to the hex you came from If you choose to fight then you should post in random encounters thread that you need the combat set up.   Include the hex type and the encounter you are facing.   If you get a hazard you should also record that in random encounters to document this If you fail a hazard report the hazard and I will post the bad news.   Your traveling should "stop" while you wait to complete your random encounter.  
Island Of Iss Campaign Mode This would be like a campaign taking place on the island but your characters are removed from the "timeline" of the phases and put into an ongoing adventure starting at level 1 that moves along at its own pace. Instead of being clunky like most play-by-post adventures we would use the benefits of the VTT to simulate combat and have our own map to move our tokens too. The pace would be basically determined by the players instead of slots and the group would be consistent. The setting would be the island and the adventure would have tie-ins to things that happened in the world. So .. sort of a campaign set in a living world. This extra gameplay is for players interested in having a more consistent gaming experience along with their island experience. Leveling would progress at a slower pace depending on encounters and goals being met. I would probably start with one journey on the Iron Kelpie and have more interactions with the captain and crew offering a fuller experience with the details of the journey and then getting to the island and continuing the journey interacting with player characters as NPCs etc. I think it could be fun if we had a consistent group(s) to do it. I am willing to run 2 separate adventures I already have ideas for. You would make level 1 characters for this adventure. They would not level with MP and you would not gain KP. This would be separate from the main island goings on but would be in the world and may have effects on the world and the world changes may effect it. If you are interested in this sort of adventure please express your interest in the thread Island of Iss Campaign Mode (even if you expressed interest before)

We will begin phase 4 tomorrow at 9AM.  This shift will allow the contest to be finished in time.  I will tally up the contest in the morning tomorrow PHASE 4 UPDATES & CHANGES BUILDINGS Completed Buildings will now earn MP.   You will EARN 1-4 MP for a completed building depending on how many LOTS it takes up. Each District (the town grid) has 36 Lots. You WILL NOT earn MP for completing shared town quests but ONLY for personal buildings you complete.   The  personal quests of building a house, etc will still earn you MP per lot. If you have completed a building entirely in the past you may retroactively gain the MP for these buildings. This will allow a way for MP to be earned for players who are focused on building instead of exploration. MP should be tracked in your  MP/KP Tracker . CRAFTING Crafting quests are being made for the town location.  These quests represent things the town needs to grow. Agela will be requesting these items and you may complete these quests multiple times for MP Town quests are a good way to gain MP if you are spending your downtime doing crafting instead of exploring.   Look for these new quests in a new thread by Phase 4 Make sure you are following the NEW Crafting guide for generating Crafting Pool Equity. DOWNTIME Your downtime logs should be FINISHED 100% BEFORE phase 4.  Use  Agela's Log as an example. During Phase 4, the market will open and you should use your CRAFT POOL EQUITY instead of using downtime to fulfill the quests and orders. Make sure you are following the  NEW Crafting guide for generating Crafting Pool Equity. During Phase 4, construction is open and you should use your BUILDING POOL EQUITY to complete rooms and buildings INSTEAD of downtime. Make sure you are posting any new buildings and rooms created in the  BUILDING page so I can add buildings to lots on the map. We need to be able to AUDIT your downtime logs DURING phase 4 TOWN GROWTH The town is currently a THORP.  In order to upgrade the town to a HAMLET you need to complete 1 District (1 36 lot sheet) The number of sheets to level up follows this progression:  0 = Thorp, 1 = Hamlet, 4 = Village, 9 = Small Town, 16 = Large Town This is a modified system to suit our game.  Settlement Benefits are also altered due to the desolate nature of our location.   We currently have a population of around 160 (10 per completed building per lot - 16 total) SETTLEMENT STATUS The Outpost: Remote Thorp  Settlement Size = 16 Base Value Is: 25 (limit you can always buy everything available) Purchase Limit Is: 250  (items you can buy with % chance availability) Spellcasting 1 TEAMS & ORGANIZATIONS In gaining teams and other services, you may recruit and pay for a number up to 1 per player per filled lot per completed building.   This means each account can currently recruit and pay for up to 16 individuals BENEFACTORS GENERAL STORE Agela will purchase from you based on the completion of the settlement - currently 16 Each player character may sell goods up to a total of but not exceeding 1600 to Agela this cycle.   Items should be requested at individual stalls and you can get to active stalls from the  MARKET General Store you can sell up to 1600 gp worth this cycle and you should list the items you are selling so Agela can add them to the store.  This transaction can be role played in The General Store but you can go ahead and assume the items sold and the gold gained. The General Store is open to buy items off of you during Phase 3 and Phase 4. CRAFTING POOL When someone requests an item during this phase, the player will spend CRAFT POOL equity (Built up during downtime PHASE 3) In spending the Crafting Pool, the store owner is putting together parts and things that are already mostly finished so this takes NO DOWNTIME The Crafting Pool MUST have enough equity to create the requested item.   The Crafting Pool MUST be the right type of crafting pool to create the item requested   Ex.  Craft (armor) pool spent on making armor and not food

DURING NEXT CYCLE  BIG CHANGE TO THE WORLD MAP THE WORLD sticky will be removed .. We will no longer need it. We will be moving to a different system to track the hexes for exploration On the map page you will find blue hex tokens that you can shift-double click (left click) to bring up a journal This journal entry will contain all the important hex information for your exploration team leader to post into  Quests will be listed in the journal for ease of use All Hex information will be right there at your fingertips on the VTT Hexes will be marked for easy information with colors and symbols. Skull = Lair, Green = Resource, Flag = Location etc. Team Leaders will mark hexes RED (red circle toggle) if they do ANYTHING in the REPORTS section of the hex information. WHY THE CHANGE? It is a lot of work for GMs to set up the map This is a lot less work and less work to set up with links all over the place. This is easier for the players who will not have to keep opening threads and finding them Your mail will get less clutter.  // You can still access the hex information from your phone if you check the CONTENT > EXTERNAL JOURNAL

At this point you can start signing up for missions for next cycle (PHASE 1 of Erastus begins tomorrow)   I encourage group coordination.   If you are a player finishing the Iron Kelpie you may also go ahead and sign up because you will be in town by Phase 1 We will get GM's assigned tonight to the missions that are going to be filled.  I will give another update this evening.   I may also be adding a few missions but there are already a lot to choose from so go ahead and choose.
Mission setups will be posted soon.  If you mission does not have enough players, we will try to get you into another mission.  PM me or the GM running the mission if you want to be added to a mission in progress.  We will find a place for everyone who wants to go on a mission this cycle.

I am in the process of trying a couple things to purge un-needed information and refresh our server to create fresh load times.  I have been trying for a couple days but whenever i make a copy of the game it does not actually copy the information correctly.  I'm looking into the situation.  Today I am making a separate Bestiary "game" that will hold all the beasts.  GMs will have access to this game and it will have GM information as well as the beasts that can be transmogrified over to the main game .. I am hoping this will improve load times .. once i am sure this will work i will delete beasts and see if the game improves. 
As missions wrap up today we are working to finish the map for PHASE 2.  The map system is being changed to a much easier system that will make navigation a lot easier.  This is still under work so when we finish we will proceed into PHASE 2.  This may take a little longer than expected and we have been working on this transition all week.  Thank you for your patience as we get the map finished so you can take advantage of the new system.  If we need to take a couple days to finish the map we will skip over event phase and complete downtime and building and crafting during phase 4.

PHASE 2 IS PARITAL - ACTIVE Map Updates: The map will no longer use the clunky forum navigation thread and the threads for awkward navigation The map is now accessable from the VTT only BUT it will make navigation much easier. To see what a hex has to offer simply Shift - Double Click (left click) the blue token found on each hex. Inside you will find a listing of the information for that hex. Each player has access to edit these hexes.  Instructions for exploration and other PHASE 2 operations are as follows: 1.  do you exploration rolls and other exploration stuff (claim quests, scouting, etc) 2.  shift double click the hex and make sure you can read that hex information 3.  If you do ANYTHING to the hex you should record what you did in the REPORTS section of that hex. 4.  Save your Report (reported at the bottom) and close the hex journal 5.  Click the hex token once again 6.  Choose the color RED and mark the hex with the red color code.  This will Tell GM that you did SOMETHING to the REPORT for that hex STEP 6 IS VERY IMPORTANT!
OK .. so hold off on exploring .. i guess i jumped the gun I have moved the map so you can see it BUT do not do anything with X hexes yet but you may coordinate and use blue dot hexes. ALL hexes that have X are unfinished so as we finish these the map will start to come alive. There were a lot more unfinished than i thought so after taking 2 hours to mark all the unfinished stuff we can start finishing them Hexes marked with a BLUE DOT AND NOT AN X may be explored, scouted, claimed etc at this time.

3 Servers We have been working to improve load times and I have to say .. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! We are going to go to a 3 server system that is going to work very well for us and provide low load times and little lag for our players. We are very excited about this and although it will be a slight annoyance to log into different "games" during different phases it will increase the enjoyment of the game considerably .. Thanks to the server move .. campaign mode now has an easy home. &nbsp;The main server. &nbsp;(The main server is the original server) &nbsp;I have deleted a bunch of stuff and load times have been resolved. &nbsp;If you create a character for campaign mode it will be stored here. &nbsp;If you already created one I will try and find it and move it back to the main server. &nbsp;These characters will be stored under Campaign Mode in characters in the journal section. &nbsp; To create your campaign mode character we are going to do something different. &nbsp;We are going to be very restrictive. CLASSES from the Core Rulebook the Advanced Class Guide And Advanced Players Guide ONLY Convert any chosen classes to UNCHAINED if applicable No archetypes, Classes as written RACES will be standard CORE races only 150 gp starting equipment.&nbsp; You will be level 1 with a 20 point buy You may take an additional 2 skillpoints in non-combat skills You may take 2 starting traits (non gold gaining traits only) You may only take feats from the Core, Advanced and Ultimate Books&nbsp; You will be starting as CREW aboard the Iron Kelpie and should choose an appro"pirate" job for your character. Anyone who is level 2 or higher in the game may make a campaign mode character
The map is 95% done .. Go ahead and do your exploring and scouting, claim quests and downtime logs so you can be ready for PHASE 4. &nbsp;We will skip phase 3 so go ahead and do downtime stuff when you finish exploring this cycle. &nbsp;I will give everyone a couple days to get exploration phase and randoms done. * &nbsp;RANDOMS must be done on the missions server on the event page for now * &nbsp;You MUST mark any explored or newly scouted hexes with a red dot (and you should Record what you did in the reports for that hex) * &nbsp;Reports are found at the bottom of each hex journal when you shift - double click a hex token that information comes up.
Sometime tomorrow we will be moving to PHASE 4. &nbsp; You should be working on your downtime logs for this cycle and have those completed by then. We are currently doing BOTH phase 2 & 3&nbsp; Make sure you have access to all the servers (3 total) If you do exploration, claim quests or anything else on the map make sure to toggle that hex to have a red dot Also report what you did in the reports section of that hex journal. &nbsp;You can easily access this by shift-double clicking the hex. Thank you for your patience. &nbsp;This move has taken a lot of time but our load times have decreased and the red box is history.&nbsp; Many people have reported even being able to use tablets and phones again. Please only stay logged in to the tabletops if you are active or going to be away for less than 30 minutes. &nbsp;Longer and you should leave the tabletop and do a reload. &nbsp;Load times should not be too bad now so this should be an acceptable practice for everyone. Since we are also doing phase 3 you should be completing your downtime logs for the cycle and ready to spend pools on crafting and building. COMING UP UPDATES NEXT CYCLE: TOKENS for TABLES: &nbsp;Map now has tokens on it for travel rolls and random encounters. &nbsp;These are not 100% complete but you can see that we are making progress towards players not having to figure all of that out. &nbsp; TRAVEL CHART: &nbsp;A new travel chart will introduce TIME UNITS and how to spend your 6 per day. &nbsp;Each unit represents 4 hours and will give more flexibility and freedom to use time units to figure out what you want to do. &nbsp;This will greatly speed up determining movements, exploration, and even give options for forced march, crafting on the run and other things that needed to be addressed. &nbsp;
WE ARE CURRENTLY IN PHASE 4.&nbsp; Sign ups are available on the server for missions although i will be adding at least a couple more before missions start&nbsp; Missions (PHASE 1) will begin next tuesday. If you are interested in something to do consider joining the campaign mode or helping with the Arena Testing.

BNW Isle of Iss 1.0 is going to be going offline. &nbsp;This is a temporary shut down while we devote our attention to developing the pile of improvements and updates for 2.0. &nbsp;We have been working on 2.0 while running 1.0 and we have gotten to the point we need to do a complete restart with better rules and introduce some more elements to the game that will allow for more player depth of involvement and opportunities as well as simplify some of the more complex systems to make them user friendly for players. &nbsp;In order to do this we are rebuilding from the ground up and plan to relaunch when this is completed. &nbsp;You will receive an invitation to 2.0 when it is ready to go and our goal is to provide an experience with less need for updates and more story and consistent log in opportunities. &nbsp;I would like to personally thank all of you for the last few months as they have proved invaluable in the development of 2.0. &nbsp;I know 1.0 was a bit of a beta with a lot of updates but 2.0 should flesh out some of these issues nicely and you can expect a game that runs without constant updating. &nbsp;Thanks again!

Will there be a character reset, and do you have any sort of ETA?
ETA 2 months .. I have break coming up and will be on family vacation .. when i return i will begin construction and adjusting 2.0. &nbsp;I want it to be as close to 100% for the players so they don't feel like they are in a beta anymore. &nbsp;There will be a character reset as new character restrictions will be in place but some characters may be similar depending on what the first character was. &nbsp;Please feel free to run stuff on these servers for fun while 2.0 is being created.

My work is moving locations so I have been boxing up my stuff and finalizing things here on my end for my job. &nbsp;This has given me very little downtime but I forsee this lightening up this month. &nbsp;Once I restart focus on the world it should go pretty smoothly and take roughly a month. &nbsp;I have not forgotten about 2.0 but I want it to be polished and with more available for players to do. &nbsp;I will update you more towards the end of April.&nbsp;
