Noobies looking for a group (FULL)

Yep, that's true, but that's not adding in his Base attack bonus (BAB) the standard +1 that all fighter base classes get (Barbarian, Fighter, Ranger, and Paladin) Edit: Oops I didn't add his BAB to his offhand at stage 2, so he would be+1/-1. Each level this will increase, so when we hit level 2, he'll be +2/+0, so it won't be long before he'll be ripping through enemies. He'll need "improved two weapon fighting" around level 6, so with a full attack he'll deal 2 hits with his main weapon, and 2 hits with his off hand. At this time his attacks will be +6/+1 for his main, and +4/-1 for his offhand.
If you need another player i would love to join your group
So yeah, basically that means that my two long sword style is good in the long run?
It's not optimal, but it'll work just fine. And at this moment, Powerofthemind, we are full on players.
Cool, well if a slot opens up let me know.
it's very difficult to decide the pose...
You guys are lucky you don't have a Rogue. He'd rob Kardos blind.
Oh yes. Last time I played a rouge. I tried to move our unconscious cleric away from the combat. I dragged him into a save drain and took his 1000gp away.
We almost did, but I felt we needed a real healer. Darn too because I've never played a rogue that outsmarts the party and gets them to give him a larger cut of the rewards, because he convinces them it's in their best interest.
I played a rogue who managed to convince the party to leave with him the priceless gem we had gone into the dungeon to find and return to the king. I then ran off with it, only to be caught by an NPC villain who managed to trick me into giving it to him. It was one of the best/worst moments of that character's career.
Thanks a lot Suna K, actually the armor is based off of Tera online's armor... still took me forever to do that pic... Urm... <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/MichiruAnnette/pi8vi_zpsaff3d119.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/MichiruAnnette/pi8vi_zpsaff3d119.jpg</a> this is another one that I've colored... I have a ton of line art that I haven't colored yet... I feel really bad about it too... >.>
Michi's working on her character as we speak... anyone else wishing the game day was here already? XD
Hey we were wondering if possible when leveling if you'd allow us, whenever we get a new feat, to allow us to change 1 old feat? That's (i think) a house rule I read about a while ago, and have used in a number of groups.
Thinking about there is still a whole week before the game really start....I have a feeling that this thread will soon be full of my stupid little comics... Michi, I never have patience to really draw a nice weapon or armor. I just put many many lines to make it "looks alright"...
My problem is that I can't really draw digitally (unless it's pixel art) and when I draw by hand, if I mess up too much and leave a blochy spot on the paper I get frustrated and throw the whole thing away. >.< And your comic's are awesome, not stupid! :P
Atrimis: I am not finding that house rule anywhere and I've never used it, so I will tentatively say no, for now.
It's a variation of a rule from PHB2 as briefly explained here: <a href="http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060501a&page=6" rel="nofollow">http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060501a&page=6</a> The one in PHB2 says that fighters/monks/wizards can re-train their bonus feat when they level. This was just to balance it (so to speak) for everyone. Granted fighters get a large number more feats that other classes, as those like Sorcerers get so few (just their character level feats) but at least this is a way for players to take a feat to help them in a weak (early on) feature, but is mostly obsolete at higher levels, and therefore fells wasted. A viewable outlay of PHB2 follows. The retraining section starts on page 192: <a href="http://www.scribd.com/doc/56589230/D-D-3-5-Player-s-Handbook-II" rel="nofollow">http://www.scribd.com/doc/56589230/D-D-3-5-Player-s-Handbook-II</a>
Ok, well it seems like its a house rule designed for much later on, so we can discuss it then.
Alright, yea my wife and I were just considering maybe taking a toughness feat, or something that'd help us early on, like a skill check bonus, but those feats are much less useful later on, and kinda feel wasted around mid level and later. The exact rule from PHB2 is a variant rule, and their description of why makes sense to me, but like I said we opened it up to everyone that gains feats, as anyone can eventually train a new skill, unless they just can't learn it (like don't have the pre-reqs.)
I think the changing feat/skill rule is OK but as it says in the book, it needs many months to train and cost lots of money. If I was DM, I would not care if players would pay the price and spend time to learn it.
My idea was something along the lines of we're a few levels in, we take down a big boss, and we end with a new level. Then we take some time off to rest, we can change 1 feature, and the next session we're a number of coins lighter, with the change we need! Mostly I'm just wondering because cleric's don't get that many feats to begin with, just character level feats.
Just get feats that you think will help you now and if you want to spend the money to retrain them later, feel free.
Alright. Oh my wife's character is done except for some flavor (background and spells.) I guess spells aren't really flavor for a Sorc... now I'm a little sad I didn't roll a Wizard, but I had planned to play one in another game that fell apart. Oh well I'll love it, once we actually start playing.
Look at it this way. If your cleric gets killed off, you can roll a wizard :P
Heh, that is a viable option, especially considering Kel's the only one that could bring himself back from the dead... or... er... you get the point.
If we get to level 2, Brooke can heal a little bit. At least I can stabilize you and then we wait for you to become conscious naturely.
Do you have room for 1 or 2 more players? We are both GMT based (UK) and looking for a Pathfinder to join,
Sorry, as has been stated already in this thread, we are full.
Also Svalbaz, we're playing classic DnD 3.5, not Pathfinder, so you'd be slightly disappointed in the game.
Ok no problem, thank you
FYI guys, I have the first adventure set up and at least the start of a campaign planned out, so, once Michi's character is ready, we'll be all set for Saturday. :)
hooray!
Now all we need are some stupid ideas how to resolve the situations we will encounter. xD
Are there still positions open for a player? c:
Sorry, Leofire, no. Not right now.
I am a noobie as well. If you are still looking for a player I would love to join!!!
Wow so apparently people don't even read the last post, or the last few posts; I know that's a little rude, but seriously, the last 2 posts are "are there still positions open for a player" "sorry, no, not right now"... Here's a personal response, Distoria, even if you didn't care to read any of the other posts in this thread: No, Distoria, we do not have any open spots for players at this time. I'm sorry to the other players, I'm not normally rude like this (dealing with a power gamer for a 4th ed game is making me a little cranky) and frankly I wouldn't want any of the people asking to join, since if they'd read the thread they would see that we are full, and have told many players this fact. I also think that these types of players (ones that don't read) probably wouldn't follow directions well, causing any of a number of problems to come up during game play.
Maybe we should change a place to discuss our characters and so on. Every time we reply, we pop this thread to the top. And the title says...looking for group... Maybe Jake can edit the title?
Will tell him to do that
Hello. I have read about the first thirty entries and I saw that one of you is also in PST. Are you guys still trying to do 3.5? or pathfinder? Either way, I have a bit of experience in both, and am willing to play, and maybe switch off every now-and-again DMing... That is, assuming you dont have a full group by now...
Sorry, Lord that, but as the title of our group says and the last few entries repeat, we are full right now. We'll contact you if we get openings.
It now says (FULL). Maybe we really should move onto another thread...
Ok, guys. First game will be tomorrow. Remember, the game starts at 12PM PST, 3PM EST, and 6PM GMT +1. If you are confused about timezones let me know. I hope to see you all there.
Errr...I think it is 9PM GMT+1
Right, sorry. 9PM GMT+1
I'm yelling at Michi right now to work on her character.
heh... I know I've got so many projects going on... I'm really bad sometimes! My apologies! Here we go! Nivini the beautiful performing sorceress is here! <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=492589" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=492589</a> As a young elf, Nivini had always made her parents a little uncomfortable. She would have dreams and wake up to find objects in her room floating about. As much as her parents had tried to keep her talents hidden from others, many of the other elven children found out and would often tease and harass her about being weird. She only had one friend who didn't think her weird, though he was much older than her. After an Orc attack on their home, Nivini found herself separated from her home and hopelessly lost. Thankfully she came across what she had thought at the time an abandoned cabin, later to discover that a sorcerer had taken lodging within. He was friendly enough and when she woke in the middle of the night to be shaken awoke she was told about her own powers. He didn't stay long but he taught her enough to be able to teach herself. And from there Nivini made her way in the world taking care of herself as best she could. Growing up alone by herself as a young elf Nivini found herself becoming more cunning, learning spells that help her get out of tight scrapes or just disappearing from a town altogether. To make a living Nivini often does performances. One day while performing apparently a Duke's son decided he wanted to tup the attractive performer, to discover that she was not as willing as he had thought. Nivini found herself having to daze the annoying nobleman and escape into the night. The young man didn't take lightly to being told no and keeps an eye out for the beautiful performer to return so he can lock her up in his dungeons. Nivini is Choatic Neautral, she doesn't really care about keeping the balance or anything like that she just doesn't like having to follow any rules. She does what she feels is right even if that means looting a dead man's body.
She is a very TALL elf! We have 3 elves in the group and they all lost their parents because of orcs! A half-orc teammate would make things interesting!
Makes me want to completely change my char now xD
I had to tease her about her skeletal-like character. She got really mad at me, but made them more realistic. Edit: Kardos, you have 10hrs 40 mins to do it :P But I don't see a reason to change.
