TRAP Rp Forum

RP'ing in Forums - Some forums are In Character only,- MY HOPE - is that this invests you into your character's persona, we get 4-5 hours a day live RP'ing and while that works, its often going to be very time sensitive RP, ie puzzles, combat, chase scenes, etc. The format for the RP forums are as follows: LOCATION : where you are DATE/TIME : day and time you are starting/stopping some behavior WHO : Who is around you, or who you are looking for. WHAT: what actions you actually perform (If rolls are required for your actions you'll need to enter the campaign, make your roll stating its purpose in the CHAT prior. THERE WILL BE NO FORUM BASED COMBATS If an event requires combat or more real time resolution - I will post that the RP is stopped at the time, on that date, for those players. The event will become part of the next session. Ect. All rolls need to be rolled in session, State the reason for the roll and make the roll then screenshot it and post it in this forum. A suggested Guide for Ic and OoC posting in a single forum follows. ((this was a scene out of MY first session of another campaign)) LOCATION : the docks, Sharn DATE : January 1st TIME : 2:30pm CHARACTERS : Zeed, Lexa, Kyhron, Volkovoy, Tomas, Quest, At the dock Zeed swoops in, in his angel outfit... If you adopt that sort of pattern in your posts, please denote the OoC commentary in a separate post or with some designation like double brackets or the like. LOCATION : the docks, Taer Valastras DATE : January 1st TIME : 2:30pm CHARACTERS : Zeed, Lexa, Kyhron, Volkovoy, Tomas, Quest, At he dock Zeed swoops in, ((in his angel outfit; 50ft from the water and maintains a hover)) "I am Come! Lo Goblins, For I bringeth you TEA!! TEA I SAY!!!"Personally I like the 3rd person non omniscient narrative style. What COULD an observer see if they were really watching. ie. Not this: Modnar thinks about that Vegan casserole on his plate... were there too many peas? was it too sweet!? THIS : Modnar sits behind what looks like a slumping pile of cooked vegetables. A glass casserole dish to the side holds the more attractive, er, congealed version of the pile. His eyebrows knit and he spits out a pea into a trash can. "Your overly sweet horde of green pea-ness is ejected" ((that would have been more humorous spoken aloud.. think about it - aaaayy, you did didn't you...tsk tsk))
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Monroe, Ambrosia, Ambrosia's Brothers Monroe walked the streets of Besalle's Ward, browsing the shops that were scattered around. He looked around for the perfect gifts for the members of the Metallourga family. It took only awhile, but Monroe knew he found the perfect gifts. Monroe approached the Metallourga family with his hands behind his back. "Sorry I, uh, took so long, but I'm sure you will forgive soon enough." Monroe put took his right hand out from behind his back. In it, he held a small paper bag. He held it out towards the younger brother. Once the brother opened it up, he saw a wooden model toy of a lightning rail train. It wasn't perfect or anything, but it did look nice for the price Monroe spent on it.  Monroe put his right hand behind is back once more and  brought out another small paper bag. He held it out towards the older brother. Once the brother opened it, he noticed a small metal object the resembled a top. "A gnomish man sold me this one. He said that it self balances on your finger while it spins. He also said it helps with stress, if you'd like to use it for that," Monroe said, as he shifted his left hand a bit further behind his back.  He finally turned towards Ambrosia. "Now, Miss Ambrosia, don't think I forgot about you." Monroe brought his left hand out in front of him. In it, he held a small, orange kitten, with white spots running down her back. "I was also told that animals help in these hard times. I thought you would appreciate it."

LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Kane, Lorzub, Zephi Three knocks signaled it was time for their involvement, Kane and Lorzub looked at each other and opened the door. Sebastian's blustery speech stopped mid-word as the two intimidating figures entered the room and closed the door. A quick glance at Zephi was all the confirmation required, they approached Sebastian weapons drawn. Sebastian began to puff himself up and blather about who he was, and how dare they. Ultimately, two blows broke Sebatian and fell him to the floor in ruin. Lorzub stepped away from the dark growing pool that spread from Sebastian's caved head and approached Zephi "If there's nothing else, I'll leave you to this. One thing, though" he leaned close and whispered in Zephi's ear "I will want to know what you are hiding, I don't care that Princess Olivia said I'll 'be fine'" .
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Kane, Lor'zub, Zephi Zephi grabs Lor’zub’s arm before he walks away. Zephi speaks to him in a very calm tone. “Mister Lozar I feel I have been incredibly earnest with you and the entire party since I have joined.” Zephi changes her voice and vocal mannerisms to sound exactly like Ambrosia. “Please be aware, if I wanted to pose as someone else I am entirely capable of that.” Zephi then speaks with the voice of Princess Olivia. “When I first encountered you I could have used one of my many stage names or fabricated one on the spot. I could have asked Kenpachi to bring me along with him when the Order was trying to hire him.” Zephi returns to her own voice. “I believe I have made my point. I do not trust you, nor anyone else in the party, to do anything more than follow your own self-interest. You can trust me to do the same.” Zephi releases Lor’zub's arm from her hold. “Privacy and secrecy are two different things. If you cannot respect my boundaries then perhaps I should go my own way. Then you can try to find some other fool to go on your quest.”
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Monroe, Ambrosia, Ambrosia's Brothers Ambri had just returned to her brothers' room after taking down the bowls of food she'd brought them earlier. It was a little worrying, where Oscar had almost gleefully eaten all his soup and asked for more, Rolf had barely touched his food. It was to be expected Ambri thought, but it was no easier to see the effect that damned place had had on her brothers. She started running her right hand down the left, from the elbow down to her wrist and then again, once, twice, thrice...   The serious woman had just began to unpack her Herbalism kit as there was a knock on the door. She managed to calm Rolf down with just one gesture before getting the door, happy to find Monroe standing outside the boys' room.  "Sorry I, uh, took so long, but I'm sure you will forgive soon enough." He stated and Ambrosia looked confused, just before the hefty man extended out his right hand which held a paper bag, Oscar immediately running forward and pushing past his older sister to see what was being offered as a gift. Monroe might have been pleased at the way the 13 year old's eyes lit up at the sight, the model of the lightning rail train something which he had never had the luxury of before. "Thanks!" Was all he offered Monroe before dashing back into the room, showing his brother briefly before happily playing with the new treasure. It made Ambri smirk happily, the soldier making sure to offer Monroe "Please excuse his manners." Rolf, would far more hesitantly come forward as it was his turn to receive a mystery item however; the older brother looked at Ambrosia who nodded him forward, Rolf taking the simple package from Monroe ambivalently and even after opening the paper bag, looked into it with confusion. "A gnomish man sold me this one. He said that it self balances on your finger while it spins. He also said it helps with stress, if you'd like to use it for that," Monroe said and Ambrosia had to place a hand on the young man's shoulder before Rolf would remove the odd looking object from the bag, looking it over with a far more critical eye than his younger brother had his own gift, with a manner that resembled his sister's looking at Monroe's chin as Rolf formally spoke. "Thank you sir." Rolf would turn and walk back into the quiet room, sitting back down in the farthest corner as dark eyes examined the gnomeish craft. It made Ambrosia frown. That wasn't the Rolf she'd known, her brother had always had so much more fire.... "Now, Miss Ambrosia, don't think I forgot about you." Monroe said and snapped Ambri's attention back onto the bartender as he spoke, Ambri realising she had been counting the twists in her leather ring once more.  "Me?" she almost laughed, the idea ludicrous. "You didn't need to get anything for m-" She began, but Monroe had already revealed a small, pitiful little kitten, one with white spots and the most lively orange colour, and the biggest brightest grey eyes Ambrosia had ever seen. It was with a wide smile and great joy that she picked up the little creature out of Monroe's hands as she began her purring.  "I was also told that animals help in these hard times. I thought you would appreciate it."  Monroe said and Ambri chuckled, happily stroking the delightful kitten. She just couldn't believe this, whatever had possessed this kind man to go so out of his way. "Monroe, really, you should not have troubled yourself." Ambri said in her serious tone, but there was no wiping the smile from her dark features as she tickled the happy kitten.  "You, everyone, you have already done so much for my family - more than I could have ever hoped for when you found me collapsed on the side of a road of all things." Ambri said with a smile, making sure to keep her voice down as she spoke of her collapse so as not to be overheard by her little brothers. "But you have done even more and you were there making sure I had closure about our mother, and now are looking out not only for my brothers' well being, but mine also. Thank you." Ambri continued to smile "Really. I can't properly explain how much this means." The woman said the words, but her demeanour couldn't help but remain just a little bit formal! She had a stubborn streak about her. "You don't need to worry about my well-being however, I'll continue to do my duty no matter what my personal issues are, I can assure you that much." Ambri said with a smile on her serious features, the little kitten being coddled terribly. "In fact, I was about to attempt to purify some of the herbs we managed to gather in the whisper woods, would you care to assist me?"
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Monroe, Ambrosia, Ambrosia's Brothers Ambrosia's response brought a smile upon his face. "Trust me, I know that closure is very important for these kinds of things. I don't want to go into detail, especially in these trying times, but I'm still seeking closure myself.  Now, don't worry about that yourself, I already told Kane that I want to handle all of that on my own."  Monroe gave a little pat on Ambrosia's shoulder. "Now then, lets start working on these potions."  Monroe straightened himself out before immediately reaching to the side for his bag. "Now just a bit of a warning, mam, I'm a bit rusty with this kit." Monroe pulled out an old, brown,  leather covered box. Most of the leather was tattered heavily. Spots of the wood the box was made of were poking through.  One the side of the box, the words " Edgar's Kitt o' Trainin" were engraved into it. "Now then, lets take a look at these herbs."

LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Kane, Lorzub, Zephi Lorzub laughed at Zephi "My self interest?" he pointed to the lump of Sebastian across the room "That was in MY self interest? I still don't know who's willing to follow me into the Shadow Marches. Fairhaven happens to be on the way to my goal, so I am here to help Kane deal with his family situation, help Ambrosia with hers, you and I have travelled since we met on the lightning rail and I have just helped you, I don't know what Asher intends to do, nor Monroe at this point. I don't know what Princess Olivia meant by Unia's cure being found at the source, but I'm willing to take her to the Shadow Marches with me to find out. So please, tell me again how I'm serving MY self interest here." Lorzub took a serious tone again "I'm not alone here, none of this was in anyone's self interest except yours and Ambrosia's at this point. Your lack of trust in us is misplaced, but you still haven't answered my original concern, which means my suspicion of you is still valid. I can respect your boundaries, but not if you are a danger to me, and whatever you are hiding is enough to fluster a member of Fey Royalty and that makes me nervous. I am now going to go about my business in Fairhaven. I welcome you to continue on West from here, but only if you take what I have just said seriously. Unless you are an enemy to me, I do not care what you are hiding, but I want to know you pose no threat. Is that fair?"
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Kane, Lor'zub, Zephi Zephi would not let the issue end at this point. “What I am hiding flustered Princess Olivia? Lor’zub she searched my goddamned memories. She perused through them like a fucking book. When you asked me to accompany you that day I didn’t know what was going to happen and I damn sure didn’t expect that my mind was going to be read. It was nice though that the Princess told me ‘You’ll be fine.’” Zephi calmed down a bit and thought hard. “Wait, did you think that Princess Olivia was telling you that you’ll be fine?
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros WHO : Kane, Lor'zub, Zephi "Well, of course, who else..." Lorzub's indignation faded as he fell silent, his eyes grew wide and lost focus as he tried remembering back to the original conversation with the Fey Princess. His gaze focused back to Zephi "But she stopped speaking in Sylvan...I assumed...why else would she do that?" Lorzub straightened up, lifted his head, and raised his voice loud enough for Kane to hear "Orin, I want you to hear this." Lorzub stared directly at Zephi "I took Zephi and Unia to meet a Fey Princess to determine if either of them were in fact Daelkyr. I did not tell either of them the purpose of the visit, not that Unia would have understood, but I intentionally lied to Zephi about it. Now I have accused Zephi of lying based on that meeting, when in fact it appears I may have misunderstood some vital information from it. I am in the wrong. Zephi, I apologize." Lorzub turned to Kane "I am going to find the Hunter's Guild and a tavern near it. If you require my assistance with your business please find me there." His gaze turned to Zephi "If you require anything more, the same stands."

LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, early/dawn WHO : Ambrosia (and her brothers), Zephi (and her mother) Just as the group was nearing Fairhaven, the rest of the people who were forced to work in the labour camp in tow, Ambrosia would ensure to find a moment to speak with Zephi. "I am going to take Rolf and Oscar to a physician to be looked after, though I've done what little I know for my brothers already." Ambri said, though she had been tending not only to her brothers but also anyone else who needed to be seen, using her own odd brand of non-magical healing on anyone who was not averse to receive it. Though it yearned results Ambri's way of healing was certainly different to the healing arts of a bard or druid or cleric, and the female knew her many weaknesses and would not ever stop working on them, working to help those who would let her all the while. "It would be advisable for both my brothers to be looked at again, just to be safe, and I thought you might want to take your mother too. I would be happy to accompany you if it will make the both of you feel any safer." the soldier added, her tone very bland and formal; as usual. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, noon WHO : Monroe, Ambrosia, Ambrosia's Brothers Monroe's response was not an illogical one, but Ambrosia would not have felt right not speaking her mind anyway; "All the same," she voiced "if there is any way that I could help you, I would like to. You have done more than I could ever have dreamed and as far as I am concerned, I owe you." But the soldier would not pry in the other human's business. If Monroe felt he wanted to volunteer the information on whatever was troubling him then Ambri would certainly listen, or else she could wait patiently for whatever would come in future. There was after all work to do.  Ambrosia checked once more on each brother to ensure that they would be alright for a little while, rolling up her right sleeve but leaving the left one down for some reason, working with Monroe's invaluable assistance on the herbs the two had managed to gather in the whispering wood. Oscar would noisily play with the model train the entire time Monroe and Ambri worked, while Rolf very quietly tried out the gnomeish craft, spending much time staring out the room's window. Ambri would only stop working once, take the cute kitten and put it in Rolf's hands telling him "Look after her for me. And see if you can't think of a name?" (Rolls: 21, 21, 19, 16, 22, 20, 26, 15, 12, 19, with advantage, we have made 1 superior healing potion, 4 greater healing potions and 4 regular healing potions.) Ambrosia looked thoroughly disappointed in herself, frowning at the product which had been refined "... I wasted ingredients." The woman's voice was heard and it was laden with the heavy accent of irritation. Staring at the one remaining crystal vial Ambrosia began stroking her left forearm, and she kept on doing it. Still obsessively repeating the same motion over and over again, Ambrosia spoke with Monroe in apology. "Despite your help some of the medicinal plants we gathered got destroyed, but I won't let it happen again." Said the perfectionist, her right hand still smoothing the sleeve of her left arm, from the elbow down to the wrist, then again. Ambrosia nodded to the kit Monroe had been using while she was still repeating the action obsessively. " 'Edgar' , was that the original owner?" Ambrosia tried to distract herself, with little success. The woman seemed to be getting more frustrated somehow! While at the same time, her tone was forced calm. Ambri would look at her brothers, take a deep breath, look back to Monroe. "... " One Two Three Four, check again. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, afternoon WHO : Ambrosia, Kane After Ambrosia had worked on making some potions with Monroe, ascertained that her brothers would neither deteriorate or be in harms way while she was away, Ambrosia had gone to apply for the Fighter's guild in Fairhaven. While she had been working as a soldier it had been easy to get training, as a healer and as a "Marvellous Bastard",  but now the serious woman had thought it necessary to join the guild in her home city. She returned to the inn the group was all staying in with the same serious look she always dressed her dark eyes in, as well as a few garish bruises and more than a little smeared in her own blood.  "Kane," Ambri would say, knocking on the door to Kane's room and hoping he would answer. The tone and calm manner with which Ambri spoke made it seem as though she didn't notice the state she was in! Her hair even messier than usual, her worse wounds having been healed while the rest of the cuts and bruises she had received remained the same as they had been for her test. "I was hoping you would spar with me." Ambri requested, barely able to keep Zenon's shield in her grasp where she stood stained in her blood. "I think I need more practice." _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO : Ambrosia, Lorzub Having had the chance to properly clean up (or wash the blood stains from her armour at the very least!) Ambrosia sought out Asher once her brothers seemed to finally be relaxing, just a little bit. The newly appointed leader had proven hard to track down however, Ambrosia finding the druid Lorzub before she could spot Asher. It seemed that there was something she wished to say to Lorzub too however, as the tan woman's dark eyes alighted upon seeing him. She had no way of knowing what he and Kane had done at the lovely Zephi's request. "Ah Lorzub, if you have a moment." Ambri would say and move to approach the Druid, three chequered sheets of paper being held in her hands, as well as a felt bag that did not clink with the sound of coin, despite appearing full.  "I won't take up too much of your time, I understand that we might not be travelling together much longer, it wouldn't be right if I didn't take the time to thank you first though." Ambrosia would say, speaking with her ever-serious tone "When I hoped to re-occupy my family's home, you stood beside me and ensured that no one would be any trouble. We fought side-by-side it's true, but you all have been going above and beyond what I might have ever expected of you, so thank you." Ambri reiterated, her words heartfelt though they rang out sounding cold.  "I would also like to speak with Asher, actually, I can't find him however. You wouldn't happen to know where-? ..." Ambri's question trailed off, not sure if it was normal for Asher to be gone in the evenings or not, as the only travelling the soldier had done with the odd group had been on the road thus far.
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, noon WHO : Monroe, Ambrosia, Ambrosia's Brothers "Despite your help some of the medicinal plants we gathered got destroyed, but I won't let it happen again."  The disappointment coming from Ambrosia was showing. "Now, now,  miss , It's alright.  You did way better than I could have on my own." He gave a small pat on her shoulder, "It's best not to dwell on the mistakes you make, but on the achievements you accomplished. In fact, mistakes are more than welcome. Thanks to  the 'mistake' you made, you now know that you just have to be more careful next time with these types of herbs."  " 'Edgar' , was that the original owner?" His words seemed to have little effect, but he could tell that she was defiantly trying to distract herself at least.  "Ah yes, Edgar. He's a very close friend of mine. He taught me everything I know, from how to throw a good punch," Monroe throw a couple punched in the air, as if he was fighting someone in front of him, "To the basics of brewing. Now, he started me off with this kit right here. He told me that I had to learn to brew potions, before I could even touch any brewer's supplies." He patted the box a few times, as he reminisced. "Couldn't tell ya if it really helped or not, but he insisted it did."
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, noon WHO : Monroe, Ambrosia, Ambrosia's Brothers Oscar and Rolf were not paying the pair any attention by that point, both boys finding the idea of brewing potions as something very boring, for their own reasons. At least Rolf was trying to use the craft Monroe had brought back again. But despite Monroe's best intentions his words did not do much to comfort Ambrosia, Ambrosia continuing the odd ritual of smoothing the sleeve over her left arm. "You learned potion making as a base for brewery... That's interesting." The woman said in a flat tone that almost made her hard to believe, had she not used the same flat tone for every word she ever says. "So, Edgar is your teacher." Ambri tried to understand, counting to four as she smoothed her sleeve one more time, then proceeded to perfectly align the vials containing healing potions of varying potency. "Oh, right." She tried to focus "I couldn't help but notice that you are something of a distributor among my betrothed's group, so here." Ambri indicated the potions... Reached out and aligned one of them so that it was in a more symmetrical position relative to the other vials. "Please take these, supply the others as you see fit." Ambri started to organise her own herbalism kit, the soldier's own kit pristine even if it wasn't being compared to Monroe's own.
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO : Ambrosia, Lorzub Lorzub wandered The City for a short while lost with his thoughts. He needed to regain focus on his purpose. I'll spend some time here, help the others with their issues, and then I'll be free to continue my mission unhindered. This made sense, his Grove was being watched by trusted people. Lorzub eventually found The Hunter's Guild and handled his business there, making arrangements to continue his training. He left and was walking to a nearby tavern when Ambrosia approached him, thanking him for helping her and asking of Asher's whereabouts. Lorzub responded "You're very welcome. We are all here for several more days at least, and I may be here a bit longer, so if you require anything else please do not hesitate to ask. It has been a pleasure to meet you, and as I said, I intend to do what I can for Zenon. I don't know if I can return him, but I can cause suffering to those that have taken him from us." Lorzub looked around "As for Asher, he sometimes makes camp in the woods. You may find him in the nearby forest with a cozy campfire and freshly roasted meat."
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO : Lorzub Lorzub continued on a short distance and discovered Thomas's Tankard, a common looking inn on a busy street. The sign above the door showed an overflowing tipped tankard with a double "T" stamped on it, above and below the name of the establishment was written in scrolling letters. Lorzub opened the heavy oak door and was greeted by the smells of roasted meat and pipe tobacco. The dining room was noisy, but not overly so, as a steady buzz of conversation filled the air. A few tables were available, as well as a couple seats at the bar. The room was well occupied, especially considering, the stage was empty. Lorzub sat at the bar. The bartender, a middle aged man of thinning hair and groomed beard, introduced himself in a friendly manner "Good afternoon, I'm Thomas." He leaned on the bar casually "I can't say we're frequented by your type often, what brings you up from the Grangehall?" Lorzub thought for a moment, not entirely sure what Thomas was trying to say "I've arrived in The City recently, just passing through really, so I'm not sure what you're referring to, Thomas." Thomas's eyes widened as he realized his mistake "I'm sorry, sir. Most of the non-humans live in The Grangehall Ward. You wouldn't know that, not being from around here. I don't have any problem with you being here" Thomas looked across the crowd in his establishment "but other places might not be as 'friendly'". Thomas returned to his casual leaning "Tell you what, first round's on me to show I'm a merchant first" Thomas smiled "everyone just looks like a gold piece to me". Thomas returned with a wet mug of ale "There ya go, friend". The foam spilled over the sides and created a puddle around the tankard. "Thank you, do you by chance have a menu? The food really smells good, and what about a room for the night, do you have any available?" Thomas thought for a moment "Yeah, I can get you a menu" he pointed to the mug with a friendly smile "remember THAT was on me. Rooms?" He stroked his beard for a thoughtful second "I think I'm booked up, my friend. I'll double check the ledger when I get your menu though." Thomas busied himself long enough for Lorzub to finish his ale before returning with the menu. "Sorry about that. I checked, I don't have any rooms available. You still need that menu?" Lorzub thought about it for a second, he wasn't sure it was worth the trouble at this point, better to just leave. "No, I'll be on my way, Thomas. Thanks for the ale and the enlightening conversation" He dropped a gold coin in the empty mug "that's for you, 'FRIEND'".
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO: Kane, Zephi, Lorzub, Ambrosia Zephi knocked and Lorzub entered the room with Kane right behind him. Kane looked towards Zephi’s uncle whom they had come for. Lorzub and Kane walked up to him imposingly as Sebastian resorted to puffery and trying to convince the two not to proceed with their deed. Kane almost smirked, but did his best to hide it, as the foppish man blustered on, he didn’t even try to show remorse. Kane was happy to do this for Zephi, but moreso he was happy that her uncle was dumb enough to immediately resort to begging for his life. Not that it would have stopped Kane, but who knows, maybe he would’ve felt the tiniest bit of pity for the despicable creature. Lorzub reached the man first and with a powerful blow knocked the coward to the ground. At the same time Kane’s greataxe was already coming down, catching the side of his head and the back side of where the neck and shoulder met on one side. The dark blood pooled, and Kane, like Lorzub began to make his exit. “I’ll be at the guild for a while. I feel like I haven’t been on my best these past few battles. If you need any other favors, Zephi, let me know.” With that Kane walked off into the night and towards the fighter’s guild in the city of Fairhaven. He couldn’t remember exactly where it was, but his general recollection helped him eventually find it. He checked in and got a room at the guild, but barely paid attention to the interaction since he was lost in his own thoughts. He didn’t even notice the guard giving him concerned looks due to the very fresh splatter from Sebastian on the side of his cloak, but thankfully the clerk didn’t press the issue. Kane was thinking about the recent trials of the party lately. There was still something awful waiting for them in the Shadowmarches, but lately they’d mostly been helping each other. Retrieving the stone to bring back Unia, slaying the Leshen to get Asher a more powerful bow, raiding the mine to do what they could for Zephi and Ambrosia’s families. Lorzub’s task was a little grander, and the party was already assisting with it in a sense anyhow. As for Monroe, he didn’t seem to want help with what was bothering him, and Kane thought this was weird given how much fire power the group had behind them. He couldn’t process why Monroe would cast that aside for no reason when the resource was there. At least not until Kane had a rare moment of self-awareness. From the moments before they had crossed the border into Aundair, Kane had masked his own troubles much the same way as he had masked himself – by brute force. He thought Monroe not requested aid to settle old matters was bizarre yet had not told anyone his larger concerns in Fairhaven. First, there was the hesitation for Kane to see his family. It had been more than half his life since Kane had last seen them, and he had run out on them and immediately ran into trouble. Shame and guilt over leaving his family and abandoning his path, but at the same time not wanting to be wrangled into the mercantile lifestyle if he were to go home. But he couldn’t pretend to not exist… eventually he’d need to go home, and if he was going to it may as well be with friends by his side. At that thought Kane paused. Friends? They really are the closest I have been to others in far, far too long. Kane knew he had been isolated for quite some time, but he had never really formed the words together. Second, there was the issue of “The Pit”. Kane knew he couldn’t just let it be, but what if he were to be recaptured and his escape from the arena had been for nothing. Worrying about it in silence, Kane realized, was probably foolish. Trying to seek retribution on his own, even moreso. Kane, sitting on the edge of the bed in his small room of the guild leaned forward and held his head towards his knees. The years of pain, of blood, of isolation, of fear, of survival for survival’s sake. It all came painfully back to Kane as he caught himself shaking a bit, and used all of his focus to calm the light tremors. He sat back up and took several heavy breaths. I need to be stronger, I need to train. Then I need to talk to the others and I need to make it end. Kane leaned and allowed his upper back and head to contact the wall. He closed his eyes for what was only meant to be a moment and inadvertently began to rest in that propped position. After what could have been seconds or hours to Kane, a knocking put him on alert and as he focused he heard speaking. A female voice. It was Ambrosia. “… need more practice.” Kane caught this last part and in combination with realizing who it was, shook himself up and went to respond to the knock. Kane spoke very briefly, very much exhausted and unsure of the time. “I agree that we need to train, and we can do that, but let’s start tomorrow. It’s already late. I really just need a solid night’s sleep right now.” Kane bid Ambrosia goodnight and closed the door. He groggily got himself ready for bed and then allowed himself to pass out for the night. Tomorrow training would really start.
LOCATION: Fairhaven, Kenpachi's Cart Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO:  Unia Finally having finished her nest on top of one of the burners, and happy with the new clothing, Unia climbed on top of the stove and fell asleep. Soon she would become a confetti Dragon and would need to keep warm while hibernating. But then a thought crossed her mind, don't Dragons usually sleep on piles of treasure and coin? She would need to ask for more allowance, 5 coins isn't even enough for a pillow! If allowance isn't enough, she would need to get coin elsewhere. Feeling more clever than usual after the encounter with Loc, she went back to sleep quietly. Anything would have to wait until the morning.

LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO : Ambrosia, Lorzub Ambrosia listens intently to Lorzub's words, the woman apparently waiting to ensure that she would not interrupt before she would respond.  "Thank you , but you have done more than I could ask for already. I fear I have caused more trouble for you all than I had hoped, even knowing what situation we were walking into...." But despite Lorzub suggesting a location where Asher might be found, Ambrosia remained a moment longer where she was  "But, perhaps I can occupy your time for a little while after all." At that, Ambri lifted up the sheets of what appeared to be, perfectly hand-drawn chequered paper "Do you know of a game called, dragonchess?"  ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO: Kane, Ambrosia Ambrosia tried to hold the door open by force, but as she exerted the smallest bit of pressure she was met with a agonising stabbing sensation, stifled a pained tone so that it was just barely, audible. With her injuries it was easy for Kane to once again shut his door. (rolled that nat 1 :p) "I will be applying again first thing tomorrow!" the stubborn Ambri spoke through the door "If I'm going to pass the test tomorrow I need to fight differently than I did today, it was why I wanted to spar with you!" the woman spoke, her voice raised slightly which for her? She was completely unusual.  But if she hoped to be heard Ambri would have had to speak up, and she was unusually stubborn so would stay by the door for a while. Only if she was sure that Kane had indeed gone back to sleep in his room, would Ambri withdraw to her own room. She didn't want to just feel defeated and go off however! ....
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO : Lorzub Lorzub didn't want to argue anymore. He grew tired of explaining his beliefs and defending his positions while constantly being dismissed. He certainly didn't want to argue over the fundamental principles that racism and slavery were bad. He returned to The Hunter's Guild and received directions to The Grangehall Ward. Perhaps Thomas was right, maybe he belonged with his own in this City. Lorzub picked up his pace as he walked through The City, the sun was beginning to set, and he didn't want to attempt navigation in the dark. It wasn't long before he noticed the neighborhood changing, narrower streets, more rustic housing. He soon found himself in an open air market, most of it closed for the evening. He stopped to get his bearings. He was told Totem Row would be South East of Old Town Hollow. He slowed down as he followed narrow winding streets in that direction. He saw many small carts and wagons along the narrow street, some contained the remnants of vegetable greens, or damaged fruit in wooden crates. Lorzub noticed this street was lined with Inns, many of the windows were illuminated, and noise spilled into the street from the taverns. There air was filled with the smell of earth mixed with chimney smoke. He came across a long boulevard, well paved, and wider than what he had been traveling. Tall pine poles lined both sides of the street, carved with images depticting images of druid tradition. Beyond the totems were fabulous temples representing the natural disciplines. Lorzub searched for totems he recognized, Vvaraack The Dragon was represented, however he was unable to locate a lodge for The Gatekeepers. He was disapointed, but he realized it was appropriate. The Gatekeepers did not recruit, they did not travel. One did not decide to become a Gatekeeper, you were born to it. Lorzub found The Warden of the Woods Lodge and entered. He was greeted by a young man in simple clothing "Greetings, welcome to The Warden of the Woods Lodge, how may we assist you?" Lorzub responded "Hello, friend. I am not a Warden of the Woods, however, I belong to a mutually beneficial sect. I am new to The City, and will require lodging for several days. I was wondering if you could assist me with that". The young man looked distressed "I'm sorry to say, we do not have any accommodations available at this time." he cleared his throat "may I ask what sect you belong to?" Lorzub straightened up, even though he was disappointed "I am a Gatekeeper". The statement was simple and prideful. The man's eyes widened "I'm sorry we are unable to provide you shelter. I imagine The Botanic Stevet will be disappointed she missed you, she's currently out performing a ceremony. May I direct you to another section? There is an Inn, The Twin Boughs, in Greenhollow. It is run by a gentleman of...of your heritage. His name is Justran, and he is a friend of The Gatekeeper sect. He is originally from The Eldeen Reaches, so he is familiar with The Gatekeepers, and their work. I cannot guarantee he has a room for you, but I'm willing to bet he will do whatever is necessary to find you accommodations for the evening if nothing else. Again, I'm so sorry there is nothing more I can do, the entire Ward is overbooked since it's getting so close to harvest." Lorzub left Totem Row and found his way across the Ward to Greenhollow and eventually to The Twin Boughs. It was a rustic building, like most of the structures in Greenhollow, and seemed to have stood here a very long time. He entered and was greeted by sounds of merriment, the dining hall was filled with locals singing tavern ditties along with an animated bard. Lorzub approached the bar and was greeted by a smiling half-orc "Greetings! What can I get for you?" Lorzub didn't have time for pleasantries, he needed a place to sleep. "I'm looking for Justran". The bartender looked him over "Does he owe you money?" Lorzub was surprised by the question "No, I was looking for a place to stay, I was sent here and told to ask for him" . The bartender smiled wide "I am Justran, I don't have any rooms, who sent you?" Lorzub was trying to keep his hopes up, but was certain disappointment was creeping across his face "I was sent by The Warden of the Woods Lodge, I just arrived in town and am expecting to stay several days" Justran leaned in close listening "I had problems is another Ward, was directed to The Grangehall Ward and from there Totem Row" Lorzub realized he was rambling "anyway, I'm a Gatekeeper so there is no Guild House" Justran cut him off "Gatekeeper?!, why didn't you say so. Where are you from?" Lorzub responded "The Eldeen Reaches" Justran said "Done! You have a room." Justran looked across the room to a table and yelled "Phil, you lost your room, better find someone to bunk with" Lorzub watched as Phil's astonished face searched for some explanation but was given none. Lorzub stuttered to Justran "you don't have to kick anyone out, that seems" "Done! Too late, you need it more than he does anyway. Let me get you a drink and some dinner, and I'll go get that room key from Phil". Lorzub was provided a mug of beer, vegetable stew, and a room key in short order. He finished his meal, argued with Justran about paying, and retired to his room for the night. In the end Lorzub was able to pay for his meal, but Justran refused to accept payment for the room. The next morning Lorzub spoke to Justran about finding work for the time he would be in Fairhaven. Justran said he knew several farmers in the area that may require some assistance this time of year, and he would ask around. Lorzub thanked him and headed to The Hunter's Guild for training.
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, early/dawn WHO : Ambrosia (and her brothers), Zephi (and her mother) Zephi and her mother were walking off to the side of the main body of the traveling party, avoiding some of the freed men and women and adventurers. Zephi and her mother didn’t talk very much; in the bard’s experience, talking didn’t really help very much in times like this. Zephi played her lute as they traveled and sung all the songs she learned since she moved to Metrol to further her skills. She made sure to let her mother know which ones she had wrote. After each song Zephi made sure to give her mother a big hug and to let her know how much she loved her. Inbetween renditions Ambrosia approached the two of them and Zephi broke off from her mother to speak to the soldier alone. Ambrosia extended an invitation for the two half-elves to accompany her family to the doctor. “That would be good, I think. I don’t know how you’re two siblings are doing, but in my experience my mother will need some spiritual healing in addition to physical rehabilitation. I have a dear friend who is a well-connected scholar. I intend to ask him to direct me to a cleric or priest capable of such a task. If I am able to find such a person, would you like to brings your brothers to see them?”
LOCATION: Fairhaven Date/Time: 28th of Sypheros, evening WHO: Kane, Ambrosia ' I will be applying again first thing tomorrow', Kane heard just after he had closed the door. He stood blankly for a moment, while he processed the statement, his thoughts grinding slower than usual having just awoken from a nap. Again... wait. She didn't get in? Waking up to this he wheeled back around to the door and opened it up, the roughed up Ambrosia with visible wounds from her first attempt standing before him. "You didn't get in?! You're supposed to be an ir'Torgarn! Give me a second," Kane said as he went back into the room, door left open behind him, to grab his fighting equipment. "If you need to train then let's do this, but I'm not going to go easy on ya."  Kane closed the door behind him and began to search for a practice hall, or at least a large enough area to duel in. After speaking with the man at the front desk, Kane and Ambrosia were directed to a door towards the back of the hall. Upon passing through it, they came to a small fenced in area, a layer of dirt within it with splatters of blood that had dried into it over time. Kane grabbed his two handaxes, not wanting to go over the top despite what he told Ambrosia earlier, and squared himself. "Alright, Am. Show me what you've got."

LOCATION: Outskirts of Fairhaven Date/Time:  14th of Aryth WHO:  Ambrosia, Asher, Kane, Lorzub, Monroe, Unia, Zephi As the party climbed the ladder out of the sewers the fresh air was intoxicating comparatively. While Kane was still damp and splashed with the sewage of Fairhaven, he would temporarily forget this fact as a cool breeze passes over the party. He placed Unia down on a patch of grass after having carried her up the ladder over his shoulder. Kane turned and faced back towards Fairhaven, and then looked towards the others in the party, his mind still thinking back to the unwelcomed guests at dinner. "I don't know if any word has extended beyond the city, but there were a lot of guards patrolling the roads as we entered Fairhaven. If they know what we look like, which I guess they do, they we need to either move very fast to hopefully beat any messages, or stay off the roads if and where possible."  As Kane spoke, the handle of the Pride of ir'Torgarn  seemed to shimmer a bit in spite of the coating of human filth and slain creature residue. Kane looked over the group and began to think. Not in the way of grand strategies, but moreso thinking how in the Host's name they were going to keep moving forward. A fortuitous mix of the will to survive after what his father has said to him, the urge to make his family name proud again, and the hint of common sense came to him as he looked around the group, piecing together what assets they might have at their disposal. "Asher, you helped us get through the Whisper Woods when all of it looked the same. Lorzub, you're distrustful and overly cautious, and can make yourself into a bear which means you won't be recognizable. You goes should lead ahead of the party, help us avoid any obvious guard posts and get us through alternate routes if possible."  Kane continued to look around the group, thinking as hard as he ever had. "Oh! Zephi!"  Kane exclaimed as he thought of something else. "You are pretty good with words and did that weird ghost thing when we first met you. That may be a good plan B if Asher and Lorzub can't get us around guards." Kane was quite sure what to do with the others. Monroe seemed to do alright in fights, but Kane wasn't quite sure how he would play a role in getting them through. Ambrosia and Kane could fight, and Ambrosia could also mend if things went wrong. And Unia... Unia. "Unia,"  Kane was about to tell Unia that she, for the sake of everyone's lives potentially, needed to be quiet when told to in urgent scenarios. He then recalled that he had set her down on the grass after carrying her up. For the second time, Kane had to haul Unia's corpse, but what were the chances they would find a miracle last time. Kane looked down at the body, shrouded in fancy attire Unia was so delighted to purchase that was now caked with shit. As he looked at the still corpse, he noticed something odd - she didn't seem to have been hurt at all. Kane looked inquisitively towards the others. "Does anyone know what actually got her?"

LOCATION: Outskirts of Fairhaven Date/Time: 14th of Aryth WHO: Ambrosia, Asher, Kane, Lorzub, Monroe, Unia, Zephi Zephi was one of the last to leave the sewers. She took several minutes to use Prestidigitation  to clean off the members--of course starting with herself--of the Truly Rad Adventuring Party. When Kane mentioned Zephi, she pipes up, "As long as there is an audience, I am always prepared to enchant them with my talents." Zephi saw Kane checking Unia's body. Zephi kept trying to get Kane's attention while he went about checking her vital signs. "Kane...Kane...umm Kane?" The fellow seemed pretty intent on his task. When he finally asked if anyone saw what happened, Zephi would finally say her piece. "I saw her cast a spell which, at the end of its casting, seemed to put her in a death-like state. I'm not aware of any spells that outright kill the caster--that would be dark magic indeed--so I believe she should be coming to after the sorcery ends."  The bard was dismayed that her stay in her hometown would be coming to an abrupt end. However, if you can't be a hero in your place of birth the next best thing is to be a fugitive. After the heat dies down the taverns of Fairhaven would probably pay even more for Zephi to perform. Zephi wasn't going to let some dim-witted armored men keep her from saying goodbye to her mother; and if she couldn't find a champion of Fairhaven for Kenpachi to fight now, she would plant the seed for the confrontation when they return to the city. An idea crossed the half-elf's mind.  First she walked up to Ambrosia. "I wish to return to Fairhaven to say goodbye to my mother. If you want to join me, I can cloak both of us in my magic so the guards could not see us. However, you may have to stay with your brothers for a few hours while I complete some errands in the rest of the city." The songstress then approached Asher who seemed to already be making another of his maps. "Asher, you have some paints and paper do you not? I was hoping, with my help, you could make several posters for me to place throughout Fairhaven. I want the posters to announce a tourney to be held at the beginning of spring next year. The winner of the tourney will be awarded 1000 gold pieces, but they will have to beat Kenpachi to claim it. I have some concepts for the artwork in mind, but maybe we can collaborate on that?" Lastly Zephi would speak to the entire group. "I intend to go back to Fairhaven for several hours, I have some unfinished business. Could I help any of you tie up any loose ends? I will be invisible most of the time so I'd prefer if the tasks were relatively easy like delivering letters, speaking to people, or scaring children."

It's in the Greenhollow District of the Grangehall Ward. It's specifically for the owner, Justran, but if he's not available I'm sure whoever is working will get it to him. If he is there, he is likely an ally in our plight and may be of some small service to you, if you request it."

I wanted to try some before we left, but I never had the chance." He gave a little chuckle. "Other than that, can you thank the gnome from Zandri's Trinkets for the item he suggested.  It really helped out." As the words came to a close, Monroe only stayed for a few moments more, before he walked off towards a group of trees that were out in the distance. Asher still can't believe the magic that Zephi used earlier to take away that gross smell. Asher kind of stood there staring off into space thinking about leaving Kane's father behind. He felt horrible not doing enough to be able to save Zenon, he would feel horrible if something happened to another memeber of the family. Just Asher was about to walk up and talk to Kane, Zephi walks up to about the idea of making the posters. "what a great idea I am so excited to get started!!!!" Asher scurries off and pulls out some of his extra paper. Sitting Indian style and starts to quickly draw out his posters.  Zephi was always good at distracting Asher when he was upset, I guess that's what performers and entertainers do. Asher continues to make the posters and whistles to himself.

LOCATION: Outskirts of Fairhaven Date/Time: 14th of Aryth WHO: Ambrosia, Kane, Unia, Zephi The filth didn't bother Ambrosia, not in any profound way. It was not nice, certainly, but she preferred it to being surrounded by corpses, to the blood of others. Ambrosia could happily live  in a sewer if she had a guarantee that the people would protect would never be hurt again. But there was no such guarantee, and the soldier knew to go on. She was sitting down as Kane talked, Ambrosia able to half listen, no immediate threat to their lives and so the fighter tried to be as calm as she appeared. The news of Unia's deception was disturbing, but welcome, and Zephi's words had stirred the fighter who was quietly seated with The hope of   ir'Torgarn  across her lap... She promised to get that weapon into the hands of its rightful owner, but, the truth was? Ambrosia had no idea how she was going to do that.... Zephi walked up to Ambrosia,  "I wish to return to Fairhaven to say goodbye to my mother. If you want to join me, I can cloak both of us in my magic so the guards could not see us."  "Just try and stop me." Came the automatic response, the woman wearing the ir'Torgarn rapier that really was not hers. "And I will bring back all the pastries Monroe could ever eat." she promised... But Ambrosia was unable to stop counting the knots in her leather ring, her fingernails bloodied from how long she had been counting the turns in the leather. Ambrosia didn't even ask what Zephi planned to do for a few hours, Ambrosia didn't care; clearly Ambri could not be as good as Zenon was. Ambrosia would stand beside Kane and Unia as Zephi and Asher began work on their posters, breathing angrily, still counting the knots in the leather tied about her ring-finger.  She tried to calm herself down, tried to stop her compulsion but each time it looked like she might - well; Her fingernails went right back to that ring of leather. It didn't take too long for Ambrosia to become incapable of holding keeping silence. "They don't even know  me." Came the woman's abrupt exclamation. "When I left home Rolf was 6 years old, Oscar was only 3." She breathed hard, "That damnable camp was the first time I'd seen them since I enlisted, and now- now I'm going to tell them I'm leaving again ."  There was a lot that Ambrosia wanted to say. There was the fact that she wanted to apologise to Kane, that she wanted to speak of her flight with Lorzub, that she needed to thank Asher, but none of that was possible. Not right then, not when she couldn't stop all that damned counting! It was driving her mad - she needed to calm  herself, she wanted to help Asher and Zephi with whatever this plan of hers was, but she couldn't; not if she kept on with her bloody ritual. ... "I am going to train Unia." Ambrosia would say "I shall try to show her how she can work with us, be part of the unit if you'll excuse my phrasing... At least I'll have made one good move in all this mess." She said harshly, showing quite clearly that she was strict with herself.

LOCATION:  Fairhaven Date/Time: 14th of Aryth WHO: Ambrosia, Zephi Zephi cast Invisibility on Ambrosia and herself and walked toward Fairhaven. Zephi put an arm around Ambrosia as they walked so that the two didn’t lose each other. The bard brought Ambrosia to where her brothers were staying. Ambrosia went to speak to her brothers and Zephi took out her disguise kit and started to craft an outfit that would allow her to move incognito. Zephi imagined that she was doing her makeup to look like a waitress some bar but in her haste she put on way too much makeup and she didn’t take the time to make sure her wig fit properly. Zephi walked around the city and pinned the posters Asher had created in visible spots around the city and near the Fighter’s Guild in particular. As Zephi walked away she saw a few passersby look at the poster. She could only hope it would bring some great champions to Fairhaven to fight Kenpachi. The half-elf went off in search of the Twin Boughs Inn. It took her some time but she was able to deliver to Justran. After Zephi delivered the letter she had a request for the owner: “Sir, I’ve been putting up these posters around the city to advertise a tournament in six months time. Would you allow me to post one outside your establishment and, if possible, could you help to bring some attention to it?” Justin nodded. “I don’t know how much I can help you but I’ll tell some of my regular about it. Maybe word o’mouth will get around, eh?” Zephi was satisfied with that. “Thank you sir. Maybe when we return you and Lor’zub may continue your business together.” After all her errands were ran Zephi returned back to where Ambrosia, her brothers, and Syldiane was staying. Zephi kept the topic light when she was speaking with her mother; she recounted the adventures she had been on and told of the doom of Cyre. Syldiane still had not recovered from what had occurred to her, but one never really does fully recover. The guards of House ir’Torgarn eventually arrived as Garron promised. Before handing her mother over to the armored men she pulled her away from the others. “So as you know I have more to do. I’m traveling with my fellow adventurers to the Shadow Marches to deal with a threat there. If you can’t find work at the university you should be able to make yourself useful at their estate. You could use your knowledge of the sciences to teach some of the children there or even just help keep the place clean. I doubt they will kick you out but It’s best to be careful. Oh, and I’m still trying to find grandfather. I don’t believe he perished in Cyre, I would have felt it.” Syldiane mostly nodded as she prepared herself for the change of scenery. Zephi’s face grew more serious. Dropping her usual visage she took on the appearance of a much more world-weary elf. She handed her mother a dagger. “Keep this with you and learn to use it. You couldn’t protect me from my cousin and I couldn’t protect you from Merrick. We need to defend ourselves or it may happen again.” The mother began to get emotional at the memory. “If I had known…we would’ve scrounged a meager life on the streets but we would have been safe and unmolested. I’m so, so sorry I didn’t know what was happening.” Syldiane began to cry on Zephi’s shoulder. Zephi stood like a statue and was stone faced throughout. “It’s not your fault; he is responsible for what he did. It’s no ones fault but his own. Make sure you are ready in the future. If you are powerless the predators will see it and come for you.” Zephi hugged her mother one more time and begun to walk away. Zephi was beginning to feel uncomfortable memories return; memories she tries to keep buried as far under her consciousness as possible. The bard remembered something though. She turned back around to her mother and said: “Oh I almost forgot. If my cousin ever finds you and tries to harass you again, tell him to think about what happened to his uncle.” Syldiane stopped sniffling and asked, “What happened to Sebastian?” , but Zephi had already walked out the door onto the streets of Fairhaven, and one step closer to the Shadow Marshes.

"I've given you advice a few times, and I saw that you were trying to listen, very well done for trying to do a good job." Ambrosia told the lovely elf, honest in every word though Ambrosia's tone, as always, remained cold. "But I see now that I have asked you to do too much." At that point Ambrosia would pause, wait for any response from Unia, any sign that she might be understanding what was going on! "I will help you to become more efficient in battle, if you'll let me. I won't be nice, and I will not be quiet, but if you agree to this I think I can help you to use all your beautiful powers that I suspect you want to use to help everyone." Ambri said, being rather blunt as well as honest.  "Tell me if you understand, Unia? Is this something you think you can agree with?" Ambrosia checked with the elf lady one more time. Her dark eyes were calm and focused wholly on Unia. Ambrosia wanted to see if she could understand, and if the elf with a weakness to pretty dresses was even willing to go through whatever the strict soldier was suggesting.

She tried, and though her knuckles were bandaged and her fingernails bloodied, Am would try to lay out a foundation for the posters at Zephi's instructions.  All at once Ambrosia's hand went steady and the perfectionist created a set of perfectly identical frames for the posters Asher was making. It was not impressive how straight her lines were, it was downright inhuman... A normal person should not be able to draw straight lines like Am had.

Unia being Unia nods her head in agreement, although she had a few questions for the woman herself. "Ambrosia train Unia. But why nu be nice to Unia when do train?" Ambrosia confirmed "Are you agreeing to be trained by me, in a "not nice" way." she asked, using Unia's statement (more or less).  The dream sounded nice, Ambrosia wearing a sad smile at the description of it. The only real reaction she could have to Unia's declaration of a dream was to put a hand on her shoulder once more, give it a little grip just to let her know - or at least try to, that she thought it sounded like a nice dream too.  Ambrosia would not respond to the hibernation idea, however... LOCATION: A few days out from the marches  Date/Time:  1st, 2nd and 3rd of Vult WHO: Kane, Ambrosia  Having completed their training, Ambrosia felt that she should test her skills, the diligent and ever hard-working soldier wanting to ensure that she was still as sharp in combat as she once was - rather than a liability.  "Kane". Ambrosia said, finding Kane early on the morning of the 1st of Vult. She was in her full gear and had Zenon's old shield in her hand, but her expression was just as calm and serious as it ever was. "I want to spar." It didn't take much to convince Kane who happily lifted up his own weapon and stepped forward, which was truthfully not surprising. But the two fighters set forth for their sparring match, Kane defeating Ambrosia on the first day. Ambrosia felt like she had much yet to learn, requesting another match with Kane the next day.  Kane accepted, and on the second day Ambrosia managed to beat Kane! She offered him her hand and he begrudgingly accepted it, feeling much as Ambri had the day before and grumbling something about Ambrosia cheating by using her bow and arrow on the first round. But his sparring partner stated "You know what this means." With her thick accent, to which Kane replied "Need to have a tie breaker. The third day the two fought again, and as the two had brought their ir'Torgarn weapons up against each other, much as they had the two days prior for their spar, Kane and Ambrosia testing their skills against each other. It was close, but in the end Kane proved to be the victor. This time Ambrosia felt justified in her loss however, feeling like the two had fought neck-and-neck for a good portion of their battles. Kane was called the victor, but Ambrosia didn't feel like she was holding them all back any longer.
LOCATION: A few days out from the marches Date/Time:  6th of Vult WHO: Unia, Ambrosia, Ollandra (my cat, that Chris might kill. >.> ) Ambrosia had been rather blunt with Unia, very strict and unrelenting in her training. Many times Am had had to yell at Unia to get her attention, not out of anger but rather, because it was the only "teaching" Ambrosia knew to use. For the most part, it seemed to be working (?), but after a few weeks of constantly working with the delicate elf it was looking like Unia might finally be getting frustrated with the soldier. Looking at Unia, with her usual calm expression Ambrosia went away from Unia only to return a moment later, her orange furred kitten held in the woman's tan hands. "Unia..." Ambrosia said the name and after a short pause, smiled. "Let's take a brake. Do you know the rules for 'hide-and-seek'?" she said, the little kitten wiggling in her hold. She was glad she had finished training Ollandra, it might be good to test her new commands along with Unia. Besides, Unia had worked so hard, it might be fun for the three of them to just have a calm moment, just once.

Ambrosia started to stroke her left arm in anguish "I fear that, something is wrong... I have no idea what is causing this it is not a sickness that I know." Ambrosia admitted weakly. Her left arm was on Zephi even while she obsessively stroked it, the toughened soldier actually looking meek as heavy coughing shook her body.

He stormed off toward Asher a grabbed him by the collar. "This is why you need a plan before we charge in." Monroe pointed toward Ambrosia and then towards the black goo. "We don't even know what that is. How much longer does she have with this... this disease... until it does something to her? Something that none of us wants to happen!" Monroe takes a step back from Asher, then lowers his voice. "We could have prevented this if we went to get help...." His voice trails off as he takes another step away from Asher.
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew Unia sat down on the mangled grass, confused by everyone shouting and the angry faces. She thought back to the previous month with everyone excited and determined for this adventure to the marsh. "Nu fight, ez friends. . ." Her soft voice grew softer and faded. Everything around her screamed death, she yearned to head back home to the safety of the Eldeen Reaches, although she couldn't find a way to tell the others. Looking from Ambrosia, coughing up blood and black goo, to Monroe throttling Asher, she pulled her knees and rested her head, dozing off. Maybe things will be better when she woke up this time?
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew Her heart bled for Unia and Ambrosia hated that she was a source of discord. Though she hoped to find a solution, as she coughed, her pained grip on Zephi was released as Am turned to Monroe: "Wait," She coughed, her one arm gripping the other as her hand was raised to her darkened lips "It's not his fault, you can't blame Asher... It was me who lost my temper." damn it , her fits of coughing interrupted her speech, and she hated it, Ambrosia continued obsessively stroking her left arm.  "I should have-" she coughed "Should have been more careful, more calm."
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew Monroe turned to Ambrosia. He had a stern look upon his face. "No, this is not your fault. This is the fault of our so called 'leader'. We can't have someone in charge of anything when it leads to situations like this. The 'leader' must accept the responsibility of his failure here. If we took our time, gathering information, and actually making a plan, instead of just charging forward, head first, then you wouldn't be in this situation here. You said it yourself, a real leader, like one in your military, would have an actual plan before going off like this." Monroe then turned toward Zephi, making sure she would hear, "Who knows, maybe we could have had some allies that  would have helped us if you didn't escalate the situation last night. We don't though, and you know why? It's because you charged in head first without thinking."
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew Kane walked over to Monroe and Ambrosia. "Fighting each other now isn't gonna help her," Kane directed at Monroe gesturing to the coughing Ambrosia, speckles of black ooze staining the part of her sleeve where she tried to black it's spread. "It won't help, but maybe some alcohol, the hard stuff, will help kill off some of what's in ya or at the very least numb you out a bit until we can get you a better solution. And we WILL get a better solution!" He reached out to Monroe expectantly for some alcohol from his pack, not checking to gauge Ambrosias expression on whether or not she wants it. "Zephi and Lorzub," Kane called out to those members of the group. "I need everyone to take a look at Ambrosias ailment in the hopes one of us has a sense of what it might be!" He paused for a moment, wishing in that instance that he had some way to be helpful in the moment. Wishing that he had gotten the final blow against Isadorn and that no one else had to be in the splash of black ichor. Kane could take the hit, but he couldn't prevent it from afflicting others. "We need to do what we can. And if it isn't much, then we need to find help as soon as possible. We are still a ways from where we need to be. Until we get this sorted out, I want one person watching Ambrosia at all times to make sure her condition is at the very least stable. That includes overnight shifts, which means two people will need to take shifts, with at least one person capable of healing or stabilizing in addition to the typical watch." Kane looked directly at Ambrosia, having finished barking orders at the others. "We're gonna figure this out."

Need watch both, or turn into monster." She rolls onto her side, looking at the Kane through her knees. All personality had seemingly drained from her, although she remained passively attentive. "Nu can go forward, need go Eldeen Reaches. Maybe can help friends at home. Unia want go home, friends need rest."
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew "Fighting each other now isn't gonna help her," Kane said and Ambrosia wished that she could wave the worries off. But she just stood there in her place, looking guilty at Kane's speech. Kane was coming up with as much of a plan as was possible, exactly what Monroe was suggesting must be in the qualities of a leader, though when he handed her the flask of alcohol Ambrosia was not certain whether she should drink it or not.  "It won't help, but maybe some alcohol, the hard stuff, will help kill off some of what's in ya or at the very least numb you out a bit until we can get you a better solution. And we WILL get a better solution!" "Hhh, Kane," She tried but he was going on. Ambrosia didn't have the chance to speak up and give her input on the situation, Kane speaking to the allies in the group.  "Zephi and Lorzub," he said, Ambri feeling like hell as she focused on just standing up. "I need everyone to take a look at Ambrosias ailment in the hopes one of us has a sense of what it might be! [...] Until we get this sorted out, I want one person watching Ambrosia at all times to make sure her condition is at the very least stable." Ambrosia coughed, wiped her lips and shakily stepped forward. "Now wait a minute." She started, Kane stating the words "That includes overnight shifts, which means two people will need to take shifts, with at least one person capable of healing or stabilising in addition to the typical watch." Kane looked directly at Ambrosia, having finished barking orders at the others. "We're gonna figure this out." Ambrosia looked at Kane and placed her left hand on his shoulder, intent on instilling confidence but instead, the fighter ended up putting her weight on her cousin-in-law and wavered in her normally firm stance.  "No" she stated firmly "That's not necessary, I'm fine ." She assured them, all of them. She needed to be cured but she was NOT going to be coddled by the troupe Zenon had been in.  "I am a healer." She said "I am a fighter. I will not-" she coughed "Will not be treated like I'm dying. I am fine . I won't be watched and exhaust you all pointlessly!" That was it, she'd said so much that it had inspired another coughing fit. Ambrosia hated it "I won't put you all in danger" she said and her voice was hoarse. She would not burden them, she refused to be liability! Ambrosia couldn't help herself, her right hand moved to her left forearm, even while she supported her weight on the other fighter Kane.
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew Kane listened to Ambrosia’s retort, her assurances of being fine undercut by the intermittent coughing fit, the dark liquid covering a good portion of her lower lip despite her efforts to wipe it off. “Ambrosia, stop. I understand that you are a fighter and don’t want to feel like you are being coddled or burdening others. Trust me, I understand the mindset. So allow me to start by being blunt with me next words,“ at which point Kane grabbed Ambrosia by her two shoulders, half propping her up in the process. “We do not know that you are fine. We have no idea what’s going on with you. Maybe two people for every watch is a bit much, but there should at least be one person who can heal awake for each shift, and someone with you on watch with you in case something bizarre happens.” Kane took on a very face throughout this as he began to release Ambrosia. “You may be stubborn, but you will find that I am more stubborn than the densest mule. We will keep an eye on your condition whether you look it or not. If you don’t like that, then too bad.” Kane turned to face Unia who was sitting nearby, still relatively close to Ambrosia who he was expecting to have chew his ear off at this point. He would let her. If he were in her situation, he’d want to vent and not be a burden either, but if it’s what Kane would want to do then he knew it probably wasn’t a logical response. Kane took the few steps over to Unia and crouched down. “No one is making you stay, Unia. If you need to see your friends in the Eldeen Reaches, fine. Go. Safe travels. But you have friends here that could use your help as well. It’s not going to be pretty, and Host knows what we are gonna run into as we go forth, but I’ve gotta find Zenon. And Lorzub’s gotta prevent the world from ending, so I’ll probably stick around to help out with that as well.” Kane stood back up, towering over Unia who was seated on the ground. “No one is keeping you here, but we could use all the help we can get.” Kane paused and then thought back on their travel since entering the Shadowmarches. “Also, don’t hit me with a lightning bolt unless I tell you to. There may be a time when hitting me as well is for the greater good, but unless I say so specifically DO NOT do that again. To me or any of us.”
LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: Whole Crew Zephi had been quiet since Isadorn fell. She was still reveling in the fight. She had gone spell for spell against a vastly better magic user and lived to tell the tale! She even pissed him off by cancelling two of his spells. Ambrosia had come over and Zephi smiled at her without much thought and she felt some shade coming from a bartender but didn't pay it any mind. With her thoughts coming back to the present, Zephi looked around the camp. She saw an angry bear stalking about, a frustrated Monroe, a sickened Ambrosia, a despondent Unia, and a Kane who was so shocked by the battle that he was showing leadership qualities. It was time for some bardic inspiration. Zephi grabbed her lute and started playing a jaunty tune as she rhapsodized. "Companions we have just won a great victory. One of the Order of Hideous Fuckers lay dead at our feet! I think, I don't know where black goop goes. Anyways, we prevailed! Although one of group has an affliction we are all here to support them. On top of it all, we know that your paladin friend is nearby! We still walk a path that takes us through danger, but damnit we've been successful so far so history is on our side!"  After finishing speaking to the group she walks up to Unia and sits on the ground next to her. "I think you make a very beautiful confetti dragon. Are you feeling ok? I can give you some viola lessons while the rest of them figure out what's going on."

LOCATION: Watching Wood Date/Time: 1st of Zarantyr 910k, straight after the fight with Isadorn WHO: The Other Crew I smiled crept across Gin's face as he watched the squabbling group from the shadows, Everything seems to be going to plan  he thought to himself. Turning to leave he glanced back at the pile of black icor on the ground chuckling to himself, I always thought he smelled a little of death, seems he was just corruption held together by magic. It was a short jaunt through the woods to where he had left Yuni and Zenon so he could observe the battle, as he approached Yuni stopped her doting on Zenon and turned to GIn with a slight nod. "How did it go? Did Isadorn wipe them out as expected?" Yuni asked the approaching Gin. "No it seems the fool died, in a pretty pathetic way."  The smile remained on Gin's face as Yuni's seemed to drop, "Worry not though his death did provide us with an opening, stealing away this one seemed to affect the party more than we thought." as he gestures towards Zenon standing there at attention. "Even now they are standing around bickering about who should be in charge, or if they should even have a leader, its pethetic."  His chuckling began again, "And he is  still with them, leading them further into the spider's web we have for them. Though I will admit I did not think that they would find out about the Crones so quickly, but I doubt those old hags will help them unless they do something dramatic."  The smile had dropped from Gin's face at the mention of the Crones, Yuni took this opening, "But what if they do help them, what if they offer them some power that we can't compete against?" SMACK Gin's hand came across her face hard, knocking Yuni from her feet sparking Zenon to draw his blade in her defense, though he quickly stopped as Gin blade seemed to appear at his throat in an instant. "Know your place boy or lose your life, as for you don't ever question the bosses power again, those hags are like flies to him, and our Masters are gods." he says gesturing his other blade towards Yuni. Turning on a heel and releasing Zenon, "Though I will admit another distraction like those Crones would cost us time,"  the smile returned to his face, "You and Zenon will go to the next town and do what you do best, kill, maim, and in general cause some chaos. That should distract them long enough so that I can deal with the Crones myself." With a quick turn he began to walk away, turn back for one last time, "But do be quick, we wouldn't want them catching up before we are ready for them."

He went for his sword but Gin was faster, again. One of these days he wishes his love would just let him fight this mouthy asshole. With their combined power, Yuni and Zenon should be able to shut Gin up permanently. However, his Yuni wants to cooperate for now and that his good enough for the paladin. His muscles relaxed but the intense hate Zenon felt when his master was struck still lingered. The talkative imp let loose some more drivel until he said something that piqued Zenon's interest. "You and Zenon will go to the next town and do what you do best, kill, maim...." . The paladin smiled. There would be a release for his wrath soon.

"Oh Darling he didn''t hurt you did he?"  she ask while cleaning his neck and the chest piece of his ebony plate mail, "That fool, I wish we could just remove him from the board, but the Boss wouldn't be happy about that."  Dusting some dirt from her dress Yuni reaches for Zenon's hand, "Shall we go dear, I know your thirst for blood must be high right now, let us slate it and raise some  more minions for our army." Lorzub's face grew concerned "That will not help you, I'm sorry" He looked at Ambrosia "You are under the power of Ancient Magic. I am going to have to find someone who has knowledge of Old Magic. The Crones of the Marches probably have an answer, I may be able to find another way. I may have to speak to some Nobility about it." Lorzub switched his attention to Kane "I agree with you. We should double our watch and make sure someone on watch can heal Ambrosia if necessary." Lorzub raised his voice so everyone could hear him "Let me address an issue. I imagine things will occur that are going to push against the morality of some here. We already know The Crones of the Marches are going to request some unsavory items as favor. I am prepared to deal with these matters as necessary, on my own if required. My teachings recognize these sacrifices as a natural balance, especially for this purpose. This does not make me heartless or 'evil'. We are in entering an Ancient place, some of the rules are different here. I don't have any more insight than that. I've never been here before, but this is where my people come from. Ancient Tribes that were taught by Dragons to protect the World from Great Evil."

"Now Lorzub, I appreciate that you're willing to go through these lengths, but for the sake.... well... for the sake of the world, we need to make sure you're actions aren't influenced by outside forces. By the sound of the Crones, these are ancient beings with their own agenda. How can we make sure they're agenda doesn't line up with those other ancient beings you always talk about." Monroe walked up to Lorzub and put a hand on his shoulder. "I wish to step up and accept any burden that comes with it."
