Interest check: Star Frontiers Knight Hawks. Space combat.

Would anyone be interested participating in a game of ship combat using Star Frontiers Knight Hawks basic rules? Starting with just a few ships. Maybe a few fighters and a destroyer. Possibly this weekend. ...

Yes, I'd be interested. I'm big on Star Frontiers since the beginning but I didn't get much into KNIGHT HAWKS and the spaceship rules. I have tried to set up a Star Frontiers campaign and imaged most of the tokens from the original Alpha Dawn game. Maybe you should do the same for the Knight Hawks tokens. ... Roll20 seems to work well; I just find my aging brain doesn't have the springiness to write new adventures as before, so my game has not gotten off the ground. Entirely my fault, but possible for the future.
I'd love to play as well. I have scans of all the KH tokens on-line. You can find them at Each one is 100px by 100px in size.
I'd could be interested in this- is it a live session or play by post?
Live when I get everything up and going. Just figuring out the best way to run it on here.

I am hoping you can start something in KNIGHT HAWKS. I am a bit weak on those rules, never got into them, but it should be easy to set up since it's like a boardgame and Tom S. already imaged the classic cardboard chits from the game. I've only done most of the Alpha Dawn chits so far. The master sheet of re-edited Alpha Dawn and Knight Hawks counters are here, but they don't seem as "lustrous" as the original box. I got a hold of a scan from the SF fans of the original-box KH counters (22 MB, 400 dpi): You set up a Campaign, call it STAR FRONTIERS KNIGHT HAWKS whatever, set up a picture of an (unobtrusive) star field (of small stars) on a hexagonal grid (horizontal hexes). With horizontal hexes, opponents arrive from the left or the right. Prepare tokens in the token layer on the side of the map which you can then assign to players according to their forces. You can make "character sheets" only each will be ship stats and the active stats for the game can be set up as abilities to link to tokens. You can figure out what you want the 3 token stats to mean and any special token symbols (of which there are now many to choose from). Type up the sheets in the Characters section of the Journal. There must be one sheet per ship, not just ship type, so you can track hit points of each ship. You might make different maps for different scenarios, but planets are treated as just another cardboard chit, so the same map should work for everything. In the Handouts section of the Journal, you can take the important table pages from the rules and post them as accessible in All Players' journals so we can pop them up and reference them any time. The reference sheets are here: DWD Studios offers printed books at cost (on but all the Star Frontiers materials are available in .pdf for free. The old Starfrontiersman directory gives the chits and maps and other stuff as well:
That scan of the KH counters looks like the one I did. Although that's not my website. I have the KH counters at 100, 200, 300, 400, and 600 dpi if you want them at a different resolution. I should really scan in the AD counters as well, I have a completely unpunched sheet of them. I've also created a digital copy of the KH map with the numbers. You can find it here: ... There is also a white one at
If anyone is still interested in going head-to-head with a Knight Hawks opponent (or 2v2, perhaps?) I would most certainly be interested in participating. As a fan of everything Star Frontiers and someone who is fairly familiar with the rules set, feel free to message me if there's an open spot. Cheers!
