Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage Official Bug Thread

My players are currently on level 4 of my DOTMM campaign titled The Undermountain. Last week everything ran smoothly, but the map tonight was so laggy we couldn’t even play. The only thing that changed between last session and tonight was the patch, so that definitely caused the problem. After about an hour of messing around I changed the spacing back to 5 feet instead of 10 and that helped somewhat, but in order for us to play I had to turn off dynamic lighting completely. That allowed us to get through the session, but the players reveal the map in a 60ft radius everywhere they go, seeing corridors they shouldn’t be able to see, and it totally kills the immersion of the game. I have another group I’m running Friday night and I’d really appreciate some help fixing this beforehand so it doesn’t happen again!

Try turning off just Advanced Fog of War. There is a top-priority fix regarding the interaction between that and Dynamic lighting. It may not be the root of the issue you are having, but it's worth trying.
Hello Trixxa, As keithcurtis staed, this is a known issue. You can find more details in our  Animations and AFoW Offical Feedback Thread .  Please note that the devs are working hard on a resolution. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeframe for when to expect it. If you have any additional questions or issues related to this matter, please post it in the linked thread. 
All of the tokens have disappeared from all of the Mad Mage maps in my game I was setting up.  I added some add-ons, but I have removed all of them, cleared my cache and am using Chrome.  Are there any other solutions to fix this other then starting over?

Whenever dragging a token from the Journal (such as a PC) they all end up one size smaller, i.e. PCs at medium size end up 2.5 ft (one quarter of a grid square).&nbsp; No changing of the map scale has fixed this at all on my end.

Possible solution: PCs--Fix their size and re-save them as the default token for that character. Of course, if this is happening with the provided NPCs and monsters, something else is going on.

Trixxa - Hi, can I get a screencap of what you're referring to? Dungeon of the Mad Mage maps should be 10 ft to a square, so a standard token will be a quarter of a grid square (which is 5 ft).&nbsp;
In this pic you'll see the four player tokens in the middle.&nbsp; Each was sized to one square then saved on the character sheet as the default token, then dragged back out from the journal.&nbsp; They're still 1/4 of a grid, i.e. 2.5 ft vice 5ft tokens.&nbsp; The one with the aura has it set for 10ft which is finally working correctly (vision was also bugged until this week, I had to have all auras and visions doubled but works now).&nbsp; Below the 4 players are two summoned undead, both duplicates of the zombie and skeleton creatures from the journal.&nbsp; They also come out 1/4 sized when dragged from the journal, but the standard zombie is full grid size.&nbsp; Included token and page settings for ref. Keithcurtis - you would be correct, that's the default easy answer fix.&nbsp; I tried that multiple times with no success.

This problem with tiny tokens has been like this for as long as I can remember. - I always presumed that it was due to the map scale. - I'm guessing that if I was to make a new map, change the scale and bring them in, the same would happen there too...

So... anyone that is playing through the this module I'm sure is aware that the 0.5 map scale, especially at the moment whilst there are some big bugs regarding the size of health bars... - Know that it can be pain with overlapping tokens. - See below. What I've done is DOUBLE the size of the map, stretch out the background accordingly, and then change the scale back to '1' instead of 0.5. The result is that the tokens end up looking far better (and back to what I feel they should be!). I've done my best to drag/resize the dynamic lighting layer to match, but getting the dynamic lighting correct looks to be a bit of trial and error.&nbsp; Anyway - The purpose of this post was to ask a few questions: 1) Is anyone aware of an ongoing request/suggestion to 'scale' the token names and token bars to be the same as the map? - e.g. If the map is set to 0.5 / the names could also be this size. 2) As a helpful suggestion to any other DM's that get just as annoyed by the overlapping as me. 3) To ask the Roll20 team... - I presume the reason for not doing this in the first place was due to performance issues? Is that correct? ... my new, bigger map is now 176 units by 238 units, or to put another way..... 12,320px x 16,660px! - The 'basic' dynamic lighting/Fog of War is working fine for me at the moment (with 2 other&nbsp;players testing it with me). The 'Advanced FOW' is currently at a terrible state at the moment anyway and causes unbearable lag on even the smaller maps (but that's another issue) 4) Is anyone aware of any roll20 API's or browser plugins that could help with any of the issues mentioned above?

godthedj - Thank you for breaking down the issues that you're experiencing, it's very helpful! I totally agree that scaling up the map to double in order to retain a "1 unit" scale on the map to avoid name overlapping issues is not the solution we should be seeking. I'm currently discussing solutions with those that can deliver them. I will also see if I can't summon one of our incredible Forum Champions with a good API knowledge base to see if there's a temporary solution.

Is there a reason why ALL of the tokens are all gone from ALL of the maps? This is so frustrating. Nothing I've done (like re-loading/refreshing my page, or exiting my game) has fixed this issue. Everything was just fine until I added the secrets and rune decks add-on. Maybe it's that? I dunno - I really just want a solution to this if possible.

Had an issue with a section of the map on Level 1 of Mad Mage just half disappearing, loaded a brand new game to see if it was there and it is still missing: Tried moving this to a different layer and the bottom half is just gone. Browser is Chrome and no extensions.
Level 3 - Area 13a is missing from the map.&nbsp; I am using the map pack only version.

Yeh I've tried jiggling it every which way, its not hidden anywhere.

Just so I understand: The new game you created is or is not missing the map piece? If it has the piece, you can copy and paste from new game to old to fix, if it doesn't, this should be addressed by a mod or dev.

Nope just the module no addons.
Tasselgryn Veldarn (area 27, middle skullport) incorrectly uses a token linked to Commoner instead of Archmage. Ulvira Snowveins (area 23, lower skullport) incorrectly uses a token linked to Commoner instead of Spy. Bosskyn Gorb (area 26, middle skullport) incorrectly uses a token linked to Commoner instead of Spy.

Otto the Faerie Dragon (Level 7) does not appear to have his modified statistics for Maddgoth's Castle. EDIT: Correction - he does, but not his modified HP.
Level 1 Area 21 "Hall of Mirrors" - reading the wording of the area it looks like there's only supposed to be two shadowy duplicates (on the two westernmost mirrors, whereas the module has them on the easternmost mirrors), but the module has five down. I think the confusion comes in because it mentions five of the mirrors have illusion magic, but it states the other three mirrors are just illusory glass. So if I'm reading that correctly, there should only be two shadowy duplicates on the two westernmost mirrors.

Banshee's Horrifying Visage ability and Corrupting Touch melee attack appear to be merged into one ability:
