Campaign hangs on loading screen, normal fixes inneffective

Oh I also tried resetting my host file in windows to no avail. I was using Spybot to scan for Malware but am now trying "Malwarebytes" since Nicholas A. said: fwiw, uninstalling and reinstalling Java, along with using malwarebytes, seems to have me back up and running. Hope it works.

Joe A., did you notice anything in common from those webbased videos on other sites by any chance?
Yeah they try to load but fail.
Riley was asking about firebase test. so here is the result. 0.22: User-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; WOW64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.00.22: Error. Status 'error'. Okay seem the problems are not linked though they started at the same time. My video issue was an addon issue with Shockwave Flash.
Okay after a full 24 hours of head scratching and cursing I figured out my issue. It was Malware! The maleware was called "PureLeads" and three maleware programs with updates missed it. They were "Spybot - Malwarebytes - AVG" PureLeads likes to give you popup adds. But using Adblock I never saw them. It wasn't until I had issues here that I found it. So if you are having this issue as I was and you use an ad blocker chances are you have maleware and don't know it. Hope this helps anyone save the headache I went through.

@Joseph Have you tried the workaround posted further up thread? (<a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/697074/#post-748601" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/697074/#post-748601</a>)
Considering I was having the same issue (Hangs on the Loading screen, no conventional fixes seem to work), I figured I'd try the URL editing work-around. It worked. So, is this something that's going to be patched later? I understand this is only a temporary solution.
For everybody else hitting this problem, could you check your installed programs (Control Panel -&gt; Programs and Features) to see if you have "PureLeads" installed and if uninstalling it (and rebooting) fixes the issue? We're working on a workaround in the core Firebase service, but I'd love to know what's causing this issue in the first place. Thanks!

Hi I also tried to do the url-editing work-around but it stil doesn't work. Any other possible solution to log into my campaign? Edit: It also seems that roll20 does work on Internet Explorer but not work on mozzila Firefox (28) , I already empty the cash and tried to turn of add-ons/plugs but nothing seems to help.
@Martin can you visit <a href="https://www.firebase.com/test.html" rel="nofollow">https://www.firebase.com/test.html</a> and report your output here? Thanks!
@Michael , just checked if it worked today and for some reason it works today. I don't know what changed but is working again on firefox. Thanks for response.
Hi. If anybody is hitting connection issues and the ?forceLongPolling=true workaround that Riley posted works for you, can you please email me (<a href="mailto:michael@firebase.com" rel="nofollow">michael@firebase.com</a>)? I'm looking for users to test a fix for the underlying issue. Thanks, -Michael

Was suggested to come here. So far the work around has worked. I will try multiple times throughout the week to make sure this stays working so that I won't have any problems joining when I play on Saturdays
i found and killed the program PureLeads and now i can login and load fine the workaround worked but every one find and kill this unholy demon it may come pre loaded on computer i had had this comp 1 week and ill ive installed is firefox, crome, steam, and avg antivirus, adobe, flash player
As of today we've rolled out what is (hopefully) a permanent fix for this. So if you're someone who's been needing to use the "longpolling=true" workaround, please give it a try and let us know if you can now connect without that flag. What should happen is it may take up to 20 seconds to figure out "hey this isn't working", then it will switch to longpolling automagically, and from then on anytime you load up the game it will default to longpolling. So the first time you load it may take a bit to get going, but after that initial load it should be instant. Thanks!
Well mine loads then reloads the loads then reloads then loads then reloads......
But only on some of them. One of my weekly campaigns loaded just fine so idk
Carodwen said: But only on some of them. One of my weekly campaigns loaded just fine so idk Which one is it reloading constantly on?
Was my personal campaign the one i mess with to practice with macros and such. I did my dnd4e one and it loaded and I did another and it loaded. I will try again.
