When he was only a kid, his village came under attack from the armies of the White Witch. Many died that day, including his father Raknar. His mother Sigrid was able to escape into the nearby forests, saving Gunnar and his siblings, Godric and Swanhild.The months that followed were harsh, living like wildmen in the forest, but at least they were away from the soldiers of the White Witch. One day, a wolf approached the little hut they called home. Gunnar's mother lighted a torch to keep the beast at bay, but Gunnar felt he could "hear" the wolf calling for him. "She's here for me, mother" said the teenage boy "she's my Fate". Sigrid was confused, but she was also a faithful servant of the god Erik. When the wolf approached Gunnar and licked his fingers, she knew the boy was right. Gunnar went away with the wolf, and when they were even deeper into the forest, next to a frozen lake, the wolf revealed her true form. A red-haired rjuven woman stood in the beast's place. Her name was Huralla, and she was a druid. Having sensed Gunnar's affinity with the god Erik, she had come to claim him, and teach him the ways of the druids. Gunnar spent the following years with Huralla, until he was ready to make his own path into the world.

A short summary of your character's backstory (1 paragraph or less): The sole child of the Professor of Antiquities at Brechlan University, Suibhne had a lonely and painful childhood.  Isolated and alone, he spent his days reading stories of great heroes and lost civilizations in the university library.  As his childhood fascination became a more pronounced professional curiosity, he devoted himself to studying history.  Now, as a young associate professor serving as a field researcher, Suibhne has come to the Cohort in an effort to join expeditions in areas where he might be able to make new discoveries, and recover artifacts that he can bring back to the university for study and prosperity. I threw away some equipment, and added a few sentences at the end of the backstory to mention the Cohort. At the same time, I now noticed the option to create an "organic" character, so I'd like to try that too.

1. (Fausto) Danica 2. “Shadowthrone” Delazar (Fausto)#4849 3. Danica is the daughter of a fisherman of Melyy, a small realm on the western coast of Vosgaard. When most of the fishermen went seeking silver in the Orlenaskyy Mountains, Danica's father left to seek his fortune. The man never returned, leaving Danica and her mother to fend for themselves. The young girl took to fishing, very soon rising to a prominent position among the other fishermen, who somehow felt she had a sort of "nobility" around her, also highlighted by the weird white lock of hair in ther raven mane. Eventually her mother took ill, and feeling the end was near she revealed a long-kept secret to Danica. Her true father was a Brecht sailor, a man that shortly visited Melyy when Danica's mother was much younger. Before she died, Danica's mother told her the name of the man, Albrecht, and gave her the only token the man had left: a pin bearing the symbol of the Cohort Arcanum. With no one left to care for, Danica decided to take a boat and sail south, looking for members of the Cohort. She hopes to join ther ranks, and find out more about her real father.

1. Volo Khedege 2.&nbsp;Hungryhungryhippo#5852 3. Volo is a sailor who found religion in the midst of storms on the high seas. Informal as far as the traditional teachings go, he has communed with the waters and the winds and found himself in contact with&nbsp; Cuiraécen. Subtly directed by the god's influence, he has left behind his former life and joined the Arcanum in the hopes of gaining additional insight into the "elemental forces" guiding him.

1. Vascos 2. DepravedLunatic#1834 3.&nbsp;Vascos was born as the son of a respected shaman in his tribe. As expected of his race, he was supposed to walk in his fathers footsteps and become a grand shaman in his own right, his connection to nature however was never on the level of his ancestors. Magic was a strange concept to him, making his shamanistic training incredibly difficult, even downright impossible. He never grasped the knowledge needed to perform rituals, nor to heal the wounds of others. He was looked down upon thus, as a child that didn't come after their ancestor was commonly viewed as a bad omen. Years of being shunned had Vascos yearning to leave his home, to create his own legacy and show the elders that one doesn't have to come after their ancestors to be a valuable asset. As he finally came of age, he left his tribe for now, to forge his own destiny, accompanied by his mule companion Ansel and an uncarved totem. The totem was to be the witness of his story, and theres no better beginning to such a story than signing up to the Cohort Arcanum...

1. Baelor 2.&nbsp;JakofHeart#4335 3. Baelor grew up as a child in the northeastern mountains of Cerilia with the Vos people. While still very young, his sorcerer powers manifested. The people of Baelor's village decided that his inclination towards magic was an "affliction" he was cursed with and the elders commanded that he be cast out. At age 12, Baelor was brought down the mountains to the nearest city and was abandoned there, never being able to return to his village. Over the years, Baelor managed to survive the city streets by honing and utilizing his innate magic powers. Seeking a sense of purpose and belonging, Baelor always kept his ears and eyes open until one day, he caught word of the Cohort Arcanum at age 25. Discovering this group, Baelor knew he'd found what he'd always been waiting for, and he was eager to undertake his first adventure.

Character Name: Roy Discord: jFire (NoxxRox) (Roy)#0005 Backstory:&nbsp; Sick of the peasant work offered to him, Roy eventually found his way into a group of highwaymen known as "The Spitwhistlers."&nbsp; He loved his life of freedom and grew close to his brothers.&nbsp; Their leader, Giddeon, a blind deserter, bound them together and guided them to where the coin was.&nbsp; Eventually, though, things turned sour.&nbsp; An opportunity for wealth presented itself which drove Giddeon mad and cost the lives of many they called family.&nbsp; Roy rebelled against his brother but lost the battle.&nbsp; He barely escaped with his life.&nbsp; Seeking redemption and honest coin he finds himself on the mend as an initiate member of the Cohort.

I was fortunate to run this character in a last minute session on Monday evening with Elee as DM. Please make sure I complete everything correctly.&nbsp;&nbsp; Character Name: Glill Hrok Discord: RumRunner #7105 Glill constantly feels the pull of living in the wild lands. He is very uncomfortable with long stays in cities. Living in the confines of four walls is for prisoners. His longing for the wild comes from living most of his life on his own in the wild. When he was a young boy living in cold Northern lands of Thaele with his barbarian clan he remembers happy times. When he came of age (10 years old) he was put through the brutal and barbaric six month Hrok ritual. He came out of the ritual a Barbarian Hrok man. Returning proudly to the clan he discovered a strange twist of fate. His clan suffered from a strange and horrific disease. This clan was no more. He spent the next 14 years living in the outlands. He is not very good with social settings and prefers to settle any disagreement with violence and rage. But anyone that treats him well and travels with him is treated with Hrok clan respect and love. He longs to make his clan proud and become a legend in the land so that everyone will know the Hrok clan. When the time is right he will lead a new Hrok clan that will thrive in Thaele. For now...he thirsts for adventure.&nbsp;

A short summary of your character's backstory: Having sailed the seas for many a year, Amaida hears of the land of Cerilia when she stops in a port near her home lands. Intrigued at the possibilities the night skies offer in other lands. She sets off on the next boat for the land and when she gets there seeks out the highest praised Druid that had passed through the Cohort Arcanum.&nbsp;

A short summary of your character's backstory: Grigori was raised by his mother until he was only 8 years old, when his mother unfortunately passed away. It wasn't long until a merchant descended upon their home and took what he wanted, claiming it as "paying debts". The merchant ran Grigori out of his home, and he swore that he would not allow these tyrants to exploit the good people any longer. Unable to do anything in his current state, Grigori trained himself in the nearby woods, watching how the animals would hunt their prey. He took special note of the wolf. Years passed and Grigori returned, now adopting the name "The Night Howler." He overthrew the tyrannical merchant, to which the town rejoiced, and he set off into the world in search of more corruption to root out.

A short summary of your character's backstory: Brammund has lived a life of a hard working commoner with desire to achieve his highest potential in life. At a younger age living in&nbsp;Baruk-Azhik, he yearned to be a master of the arcane. He delved into his studies with a burning desire to gain knowledge of powerful spells that could aid the dwerren cause against orogs, hoping to gain respect and renown. His opportunity for glory came as he was posted into military to protect the dwerren outpost at the frontlines, where he gained renown for his skills and dedication. Over time, Brammund grew weary of fighting seeing comrades fall without able to save them from zealousness of his commanders. So resigning from service, he moved to brewing potions and ale, where he felt closer to the folk he wanted to help. Through interactions with various people, he really realized the vastness of the world for the first time and how he could apply his desire to protect and aid the underdogs of civilization where ever he would go. Now, serving the Cohort Arcanum, Brammund looks for what opportunities to apply his knowledge and fledgling wisdom wherever it was called for.

A short summary of your character's backstory: Caern was raised within Diemed and became a healer within the military. This was until the day he had to fight within the Rohrmarch Civil War under Baron Heirl Diem, where his unit was killed by a squad of Alsied forces. While he knew he had died, he soon awoke to the sound of a bell chiming. He woke up on the old battlefield and, discovering a strange bell that had gifted him power, he went back to Diemed only to find that he had fallen one month ago and now the land was fought over. Feeling he had no place to go, he turned to the Cohort Arcanum, hearing that they were trying to do some good and help defend the land from threats, hoping he could put his newfound abilities to good use.

A short summary of your character's backstory: Horus was raised within his minotaur clan, but was the runt of the clan. He was just as strong as any of his family, and was able to prove this quite often, but his height always led him to be picked on by the other clan members. He eventually left his clan with the intent of proving to his clan that he was just as good as any of them. He's since travelled across Thylea and seen how the other races treated his kind, and knew he'd be enslaved if he gave the opportunity. Horus didn't allow himself to be enslaved, and is continuing in his efforts to try to prove himself within the world.

The half-orc simply named Sue was a part of a growing tribe in western Cerilien, until a fire wiped out most of them. &nbsp;For years Sue has lived on his own staying away from from society that shunned him for being a half-orc. &nbsp;Scared of his inner orc rage and tired of being alone (though he would never admit it) he went to the Cohort searching for adventure and a place to belong.

Cromartin “Crow” Perrywinkle MegaScientist#2235 Cromartin Perrywinkles early years were, unlucky, to say the least. Between being raised by a group of liars and thieves, and never knowing his true parents, Cromartin was shown the unforgivingness of the world from a very young age. At the age of 10, the group of thieves that had raised him, left him at the Howling Dog inn, promising to return after they completed what they said was “the heist of a lifetime.” They never came back to get him however, and their fate remains a mystery to Cromartin to this day. When one door closes, another opens however and the proprietor of the Howling Dog, Sam Snibbs, took pity on Cromartin and gave him a job. Presently, the Howling Dog inn has fallen on rough times, so Cromartin (Who is now 26) left to join the Cohort Arcanum and seek a fortune that can keep the Howling Dog afloat. On his way there however a letter found it’s way to Cromartin. It’s only contents was the words, “Find Us” with the signature of a name from his thieving past, Cornelia West.

1. Your character's name in The Cerilian Census: Elias Siannodel 2. Your Discord ID including the number. Steven Fletcher#1554 3. A short summary of your character's backstory: A native of the wind-cut Binsada, Elias Siannodel made his living as a caravan guard, and guide, for travel across the Khinasi lands, occasionally working for what functions as a watch within the city. As it is with most within the region, his family is dear to him, his wife Chaedi and daughter Naivara, are chief in his heart. As for the Cohort Arcanum, Naivara is his reason. The child, in her tenth year, has fallen ill to a wasting sort of illness. It can be held at bay by what medicine is avaliable within Binsada, but not without resources. Elias joined the Arcanum to earn the resources to care for Naivara, and to seek a cure for her illness.

1. Your character's name in The Cerilian Census: Traven Arastet 2. Your Discord ID including the number. Mekapix#3565 3. A short summary of your character's backstory: Traven was born in Molochev where the old way of Vos are heavily worshipped. He was young and brash, but never strong enough for the Vos family he was raised in, and was eventually cast out by his family as a disgrace. He sought a way to get power, to prove to them that he was more than they ever gave him credit for, when he eventually heard of a weapon that granted power to whomever weilded it. After much travelling, following signs that he heard through the rumours that brought him close to an area touched by the Shadow Realm, he found a tomb with a scythe laying within. The scythe called out to him as he approached, calling itself Voraan and telling him that he could grant him whatever he wanted. Traven said he wanted power, and Voraan promised it. Traven grabbed the scythe and was thrown into a battle for his own body when Voraan tried to possess him, but Traven was able to hold him off. Now the two of them travel through the world, Traven wanting to use his new power to teach the old way of Vos how wrong it was, and Voraan trying to take over Traven and possess him, to give him a new body to cause havoc and destruction.

1. Romilly 2. Summer#2590 3. Romilly was born in Goblincairnes, Medoere but at a very young age she was adopted by an old noble man who never got to see his grandchildren, so he decided to have a child of his own. She was thus raised as a noble child, taught to play the viol, Andu and history. She lived like a princess until the sad day came when her adoptive father died. The household staff refused to take care of a goblin and she was thrown out, finding her way to the Cohort.

1. (Link S.) Varis Nailo 2. linkshadowelf#4956 3. Varis and his wife lived as basic smugglers to get illegal weapons in and out of Breechlen. Mostly it was just, "watch this case until X comes to get it." Varis's wife was a blacksmith and it was easier to hide equipment. One day, an&nbsp; enchanted blade was stored. When the package carrying it was accidnetally dropped, Varis foolishly grabbed the blade. He was then greeted with a vision with a shadow standing before him. The shadow offered power but would cost him a great deal. Without realizing what he was doing, he agreed. The shadow then took the blade, ran through his wife with it and vanished with the blade. Now, Varis has joined the Cohort to harness his new gifts and to try to find the cursed blade. He has also sworn to leave his criminal ways, but maintains some contacts from his past life.

1.&nbsp;Aeferen Revven 2. SlothSlow#1527 3.&nbsp; A high elf growing up in Cwmb Bheinn, Aeferen grew up admiring his leader Allan Alaigh strength as one of the true elves. Aeferen signed up hoping to be a bastion against the ravens forces. Instead he has spent most of his life stuck on the border of Kozlovnyy early in life battling the evil Vos who managed to make their way far enough in the woods. After the rule of Igor Nikailov he found the changing of the ways of following evil gods inspiring, switching to Avanil, and grew to care for its people. Aeferen grew his reputation with the Sidhelien and Vos on the border becoming a go to translator for the two nations and thinks highly of its current ruler Vladimir Nikailov. He has grown tired of being idle and plans to grow his strength so he may perhaps one day be seen as worthy by the Elf King.

Echo used to live along the coast in a small fishing town with her parents, they used to have a small and quiet life until during a large storm she got so scared she ran outside, just in time as lightning struck down twice near her home and on it. She saw the thatched roof go up in flame and ran as far as her little legs took her. She found herself on the road at the end of the storm, hungry and dirty with only the clothes on her back. An older woman, travelling at the time to Mytros saw her meandering alone and decided to take Echo under her 'wing'. Echo since then has been a child of the streets of Mytros. Spending most of her childhood having to fend for herself, even if the woman that helped her did the best she could.

A short summary of your character's backstory: Velduen was raised in a village within Melyy, taught in the new way of Vos. He learned how to play a number of instruments, but he took mostly to the violin. As he played, he felt thoughts and feelings run through the strings of his instrument, they flowed from his fingertips and through the bow. Joy, sorrow, excitement, anger, love, despair. All emotions he could connect to, he found that he had a talent for allowing others to feel those same emotions. Soon, he discovered a power to the emotions he portrayed through the violin, that they could form magic and he could impart that magic to others. At this point, he decided that he would leave his home and learn more about the magic he had, as well as where it came from and what it could do.

1. Gaelin Kelhorn 2. shoome#7235 3. Being marked "different" for his grey skin and silverish white hair in his home-cottage, Gaelin left his home at a relatively young age. He did not leave too far off tho, since he cared for his former friends and led a life in the wilderness hunting and keeping danger away from his former home. On one of his nightly hunting trips, he saw a shadowy figure that looked a lot like him, wielding some sort of overly crested bow. Curious (and maybe sometimes thoughtless) as he is, he confronted that entity, who spoke to him in whispers: "I know that you are seeking for knowledge, Gaelin - You want to know who you really are ... - I won't give you the answers, but I can lead you to asking the right questions ... - For a small price that is ..." - Gaelin accepted, even though he was a bit overwhelmed since it felt more like the bow was talking to him, than the entity holding it, without hesitation. "Go to the Cohort Arcanum, this will be you're first step to finding the answers you are looking to get. It will be dangerous for you ... but don't worry, I will be watching over you". And with a litte hiss, the entity faded away into nothingness and Gaelin knew what he had to do. (ooc: I want to play Gaelin as a Hexblade with a Bow as his pact-weapon and feeling more like a "Hunter"-type ...)
