From Hotfix for Game Loading Problems 3/28/2021 This afternoon we became aware of a problem which caused some users to experience difficulty launching their games on Roll20. This issue is related to the other incidents users have experienced recently in the last few weeks. We know how frustrating it is to have trouble getting into your games, and apologize for the inconvenience and missed game times. We have pulled our full team together to resolve these issues. A hotfix was just deployed to resolve users' ability to launch their games. We expect this hotfix to be in place until we release a more permanent solution tomorrow. Given the nature of a hotfix, you may notice some unexpected behavior from character sheets. This should be limited to the way that custom character sheets are styled and rendered but with any hotfix there is always a risk of unforeseen problems. This temporary fix may cause improper rendering of roll templates within your chat archives. If you are effected by this please let us know via our Help Center. We are working on a more complete update on the larger issue, and thank you for your patience as we work to improve the software.

Under Chaos System the sheet named "Demon Gate Scripted" is loading the character sheet with all tabs of the sheet pushed to the left of the screen and inaccessible. The sheet is not able to be used right now. I am using Google Chrome but it seems it is happening in Firefox as well. It seems to be in any of the games that use the sheet as well, I am getting complaints from others who use it. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/9784954/demon-gate-vagabond Seems to be happening to all characters. Ad blockers off, no extensions known.

Mutants and Masterminds character sheet, none of the CSS background png images are loading, nor are the CSS window colors. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, all characters. Disabled all plugins, same issue. EDIT: Existing game.
My sheets are loading, but super slow to open in all my games.
Sheets are slow to open, saving them opens a blank popup window. Same as last week. I don't know how sheets went from working fine to breaking constantly but please just revert whatever change caused this, it's gone on long enough.

Character sheets for the Pathfinder 1e template are loading semi-functionally (will occasionally result in long load times), but charactermancer is refusing to launch.
I am also having trouble with using Charactermancer. Tried new character, existing, and copy of existing, but no charactermancer.
I too am having charactermancer issues, just doesnt work

Bug Report I've noticed 2 new issues. The gifs below were taken before disabling extensions, but I experienced both issues with extensions disabled: Previously, if I had multiple overlapping sheets open I could click on the body of a sheet window to bring it to the front. Now this can only be done by clicking the title bar. When dragging a window around by the title bar, if the cursor moves outside of the threshold of the title bar it stops dragging the window. If I release the mouse button before returning the cursor to the title bar, then the cursor continues to drag the window as long as it is touching the title bar, even with the button released. Notice when the yellow highlight is on the cursor, representing a button click.

Hi Folks, we have some updates for posted threads. PunyPaladin : We have made adjustments regarding opening character sheets. Can you confirm if you are still experiencing this issue? Have you tried this in another browser? Ryunkel : Can you test your game again and let us know if the issue persists? Michael B & Pedro : Are you able to test this issue by creating another, different character with charactermancer? We’d like to eliminate the possibility of this affecting just that character or if this happens to other created sheets as well. Aaron F : Are you using the pop out window options? If you are, drag and drop from the compendium to a pop out window will not work. Zaftique : Adjustment have been made regarding this issue. Can you test it out on another browser and confirm whether they work ? Rogue : Can you make a copy of this game and see if the problem persists in that game? Jason : Can you confirm which Mutants and Masterminds sheet you’re referring to? 2nd or 3rd Edition?
I just created another character using Charactermancer and it works correctly. I created a level 1 fighter and leveled it to level 2 without issue. I’ve attempted to edit my original character sheet, had my GM assign a new character sheet and started a whole new game and none of the character sheets will load. I’ve moved from Safari to Chrome. I’m also on a tablet.

I had exactly the same issue a couple of days ago. Opening the character-sheet in the main window would not work. Interestingly enough - if I opened it in a secondary window, it worked. This seems to be associated with the handout-issue that shows a similar behaviour.

The issue persists but I think I know what the real problem is. In my classes I don't prepend 'sheet-'. Yesterday I sent a pull request with the modifications. I just wait for them to update to confirm. Thank you.
Here's the CSS that's being ignored on the Mutants & Masterminds character sheet if that helps at all: /* Character Sheet Wrapper */ @import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Bangers|Sriracha&display=swap'); .sheet-wrapper {     font-family: 'Sriracha', cursive;     --col-black: #363B44;     --col-white: #EBEBEB;     --col-blue: #4E7FC8;     --col-red: #DA3A2F;     --col-yellow: #E0AC00;     --col-purple: #7E627F;     --font-normal: "Sriracha", 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans', Arial, sans-serif;     --font-header: "Bangers", 'Trebuchet Ms', sans-serif;     --bg-halftone: url("https://i.imgur.com/gCUY6ka.png");     --bg-halftone-w: url("https://i.imgur.com/9nraS6y.png");     --bg-texture: url("https://i.imgur.com/IqY5rW0.jpg");     background: var(--col-white);     border-radius: 20px;     padding: 15px 10px;     color: var(--col-black); }

I think Bug I am experiencing is somehow connected. I am playing Warhammer Fantasy 2nd edition. Today I wanted to check the chat archive from last session and all rolls from the character sheet disappeared. I just see blank messages. I expect most GM does not need chat archive... But I do ;)

The following information is helpful for us: Does this happen in any other game? What about a new game? Appears to only happen in one existing DND 5e game, no known issue in other existing games or new games Is this happening for all sheets or only a few sheets in particular? Please provide the names of sheets experiencing this issue. Issue appeared on all PC sheets in game when attempting to level up via charactermancer. 3/4 were eventually able to complete the level up. 1/4, named Ringet, is locked in a bugged charactermancer. Browser version (only chrome and firefox are supported) Tested in Firefox, Opera GX, Edge and Chrome with no difference. included testing with and without extensions as suggested below Provide extensions you have enabled, then Ensure that ALL extensions are disabled to see if the problem persists. (Incognito/Private Browsing typically by default will disable extensions in that window) Please provide a link to your game and the name of an affected sheet. ( Note: NOT a join/invite link) https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/9942163/out-of-the-abyss sheet name is Ringet Edit: Identical issue to Pedro and Michael B. Also tested with the player making a new character with no issues.

Analyzer said: Michael B & Pedro : Are you able to test this issue by creating another, different character with charactermancer? We’d like to eliminate the possibility of this affecting just that character or if this happens to other created sheets as well. I had my DM create another sheet for me and I was able to create a new character just fine. I am in the process of trying to rebuild my existing character up to the level of the old one, but it's really killing me to be missing a substantial amount of info on the old sheet. I genuinely believe the issue is that some flag on the sheet got corrupted during last Thursday's lag issues, but I cannot figure out what field or field is broken. All I know is it seems like it's unable to import my existing levels properly so that it can run the level up process correctly.
So I played with this CSS a bit and the problem seems to be the use of the sheet wrapper. I replaced all the "var" references (e.g. var(--col-black)) with the color codes instead throughout the CSS file and it fixed the background image and color issues on this character sheet. It appears that Roll20 is ignoring the values in the sheet wrapper completely. I have seen this on the Alien RPG character sheet as well. The background is supposed to be black, but Roll20 is ignoring the wrapper: Aliens .sheet-background-wrap{     background-color: black;     padding: 5px;     min-width: 1128px; } Jason said: Here's the CSS that's being ignored on the Mutants & Masterminds character sheet if that helps at all: /* Character Sheet Wrapper */ @import url(' https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Bangers|Sriracha&display=swap '); .sheet-wrapper {     font-family: 'Sriracha', cursive;     --col-black: #363B44;     --col-white: #EBEBEB;     --col-blue: #4E7FC8;     --col-red: #DA3A2F;     --col-yellow: #E0AC00;     --col-purple: #7E627F;     --font-normal: "Sriracha", 'Trebuchet MS', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans', Arial, sans-serif;     --font-header: "Bangers", 'Trebuchet Ms', sans-serif;     --bg-halftone: url(" https://i.imgur.com/gCUY6ka.png ");     --bg-halftone-w: url(" https://i.imgur.com/9nraS6y.png ");     --bg-texture: url(" https://i.imgur.com/IqY5rW0.jpg ");     background: var(--col-white);     border-radius: 20px;     padding: 15px 10px;     color: var(--col-black); }
Is this fixed now? I see the last update from 2 weeks ago saying you are working on it, but it was causing major issues in my game last week.

Does this happen in any other game? What about a new game?-- I am experiencing this issue of a constant loading screen on all my character sheets in all of my current games as a player and the one that I DM. Is this happening for all sheets or only a few sheets in particular? Please provide the names of sheets experiencing this issue.-- I DM Deo's Sandbox and I can't access any character sheet there, Skif T-1000 in Tails of Nimway, Jiriki the Maelstrom in the Guilds of Herrimshal, Kaz in Out of the Abyss, Alberich and his familiar Theodore in Late Night Lost Mine, or Rowl of the Silentpaws in the Sunless Citadel 1 shot. These are the games I currently play in or DM, and all are affected by a loading screen that never brings up the character sheet. The other games I'm in are on hiatus for the moment so I haven't checked them recently to see if they are affected similarly. Browser version (only chrome and firefox are supported)-- I use Chrome Provide extensions you have enabled, then Ensure that ALL extensions are disabled to see if the problem persists. (Incognito/Private Browsing typically by default will disable extensions in that window)-- I use Beyond20, Roll20 Character Parser, Custom Dice for Roll20 extensions. Disabling them doesn't work for me Please provide a link to your game and the name of an affected sheet. Wint said: Had a character sheet fail to load during session today, but was able to eventually get it there simply by closing and re-opening it multiple times. Later in the session however I had a different issue where if I edited an NPC character sheet (e.g. by clicking "show to players," or by editing the "in players journals" to "all players"), the entire sheet would lock up full-screen on the VTT, unable to be further edited, resized, or closed, forcing me to reload the entire VTT page again. As I was playing 5e with several NPCs in the encounter, this was extremely invasive and really ruined the moment for a climatic encounter. Pretty disappointed with this service, that I'm paying for, at the moment between this and other on-going issues. Can confirm this issue from last week is still an issue and is now also happening in other character sheets (was 5e, now FFG Star Wars as well).

Every time I've tried to make a new player character using the charactermancer for the last few weeks, at completion it opens as an NPC stat box instead of a character sheet. So basically none of the choices I've made have stuck. I tried having one of my players go through the charactermancer as well to the same result. Any ideas to fix this would be appreciated. (This is using D&D 5E.)
I'm not having trouble with character sheets, but instead my monster stat blocks. They take forEVER to load now, when they used to be instant. I have to press the EDIT button and then exit to get it to load properly. I use Chrome. Link is at the bottom. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/7302955/the-valor-collective

Your game probably has the default NPC sheet option turned on. To turn it off for all sheets go into Game Settings. For an individual sheet, there is an NPC check box on the sheet, just uncheck it. -Adam
Happening in our Coriolis sheets too. There's a ton of buttons at the top of the sheet that shouldn't be there, as well as a radio button set. Luckily, the sheet itself seems to be working. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/9265694/coriolis
This has been happening very frequently lately when pulling from the compendium. I get the "blue guy" token, the bio reads correct, but then find this on the character sheet. Fully updated, cache cleared and firefox and chrome.
Description of issue : So I am noticing an issue with my current campaign in regards to a couple players' sheets. We have reached level 4 and we are trying to use Charactermancer to do the level-up process. With a few characters, they seem to be not loading properly though. The character sheet's actual contents like the ability scores and skills are all still there. But when these two players in particular would try to level up: It would lead to this and nothing can be edited. It doesn't seem to be getting any info from the sheets anymore. The only thing I noticed that was unique to these characters in particular was they accidentally put their characters as a multiclass but they never saved it as such when I explained when they were stuck. But these two are the only sheets that are like this. Is there a fix for this without having to start from square one?

I've seen this reported a couple of times recently. If this is the same issue, the solution is to wait for the imported character to fully resolve before closing the window. Closing the window too soon seems to prevent all the data from being transferred, leading to an incomplete character. You'll have to delete the broken characters first, of course, since the Compendium will not overwrite local content (in order to preserve local changes and homebrew).

I had the same thing happen today with one of my Level 4 players trying to level up using Charactermancer! He is multiclass (warlock/cleric). Here’s what he saw: Devin G. said: Description of issue : So I am noticing an issue with my current campaign in regards to a couple players' sheets. This is a continuing issue for me. When I load my PC sheet it will show the white box with a loading circle as in many of the previous posts. I use Google Chrome. My work around, which seems to work every time, it to click on edit > save edit > I will then have access to the CS. I then double click the tab to reduce it's size and have it ready throughout the session. Sometimes it just crashes.
So I didn't know how to explain but here is a picture. It's like it tried to move everything over so it reads weird. I don't know how long it has been like, but I know it wasn't like this at least a couple of days ago. How do I fix this?
Hi Everyone, The baseline problems that this thread was originally created for have seem to have died down. As such, we are going to be closing this thread to better consolidate communications. We ask that anyone who has further loading issues with character sheets, please respond to this thread here instead . Thank you!
