Roll20 forum is doing that weird pagination thing where it loads the next page, find Solid's latest Treasure/XP/Loot account (from last week) on the page before, and Larry's comment I'm answering here. Behemoth body Behemoth corpse -- good point, valuable Humongous walking-whale body. Sigma can begin processing it, and perhaps persuade the 2 Hill Giants to carry it back to Portlandio. Smart ideas. Very rangery, as well as resourceful for any class. Sigma 2-handed Yes, Sigma can fight 2-handed, as long as each weapon is possible to be wielded in one-hand by 18/00 STR Minotaur. I will still work out a way for you to roll it in 1 attack roll, rather than slowing down for 2 attack rolls. It would enhance your damage & allow target-splitting. Anytime you can wield a +2 or better (anything), that's useful in itself as some creatures can only be hit by +2 or better. Understanding the orcish mindset Yes, Sigma can retain a deeper insight into the Orcish mindset, and some knowledge of Gruumsh's goals: world domination,  conquest,  cruelty, Orcs rule, others drool:  wiping out all elves,  subjugating humans,  stomping halflings,  enslaving dwarves,  abusing gnomes,  Orcs have a historic enmity against elves and dwarves; many tribes will kill these demihumans on sight. creating cobble goblins creating rock orcs building armies and bending the Earth itself to the one eyed god's service in a martial-arts form called Earthbending. Orcs are a species of aggressive mammalian carnivores that band together in tribes and survive by hunting and raiding.  Orcs believe that in order to survive they must expand their territory, and so they are constantly involved in wars against many enemies. Orcs vary widely in appearance, as they frequently crossbreed with other species. In general, they resemble primitive humans with grey-green skin covered with coarse hair.  Orcs prefer to wear colors that most humans think unpleasant: blood red, rust red, mustard yellow, yellow green, moss green, greenish purple, and blackish brown. Their armor is unattractive besides – dirty and often a bit rusty. Orcs hate direct sunlight. Orcs employ sniping and ambush tactics in the wild.  They do not obey the “rules of war” unless such is in their best interests; for example, they will shoot at those who attempt to parlay with them under a white flag unless the orc leader feels it is advantageous to hear what the enemy has to say.  They abuse human rules of engagement and chivalry to their best advantage.  Many orc tribes have waged wars for decades and have developed a frightening efficiency with battle tactics. Orcs are aggressive.  Orcs believe other species are inferior to them and that bullying and slavery is part of the natural order. Orcs will cooperate with other species but are not dependable: as slaves, they will rebel against all but the most powerful masters; as allies they are quick to take offense and break agreements.  Orcs believe that battle is the ideal challenge, but some leaders are pragmatic enough to recognize the value of peace, which they exact at a high price. If great patience and care are used, orc tribes can be effective trading partners and military allies. Orcs value:  territory above all else;  battle experience,  wealth,  and number of offspring are other major sources of pride.  Orcs are patriarchal; women are fit only to bear children and nurse them. Orcs have marriage customs, but orc males are not noted for their faithfulness. Orcs worship many deities (some who have different names among different tribes); the chief deity is a giant, one-eyed orc.  Orcish religion is extremely hateful toward other species and urges violence and warfare.  Orc shamans have been noted for their ambition, and many tribes have suffered because of political infighting between warriors and priests. As a special Ranger bonus for Sigma I will allow you to add Orc as a new Favored Enemy. The knowledge of orcishness will be extremely useful in an upcoming planned adventure for 5th level PC's.  Upcoming orc-based adventure once you meet Ota Sura: Everyone should practice both PLAYER and Character knowledge of orcs in preparation for that future adventure, as portraying the orc mindset will literally earn you bonus XP when we get to that scenario I'm hinting at. It is the adventure which starts at Ota Sura's place, among the Honsharim, some roughly 100 miles northeast from Portlandio. You will hear increasing rumors that the orc army is moving and entrenching ever-closer to that area, bringing the front-lines of the orc wars southward invading frontier regions. This next orc-based adventure will take place (Player's choice) possibly next after Winter Sessions and after going back to Portlandio. IRL this could happen within 3-4 weeks from now, possibly in March-April. Remember that my orcs are upgraded slightly from the basis of your typical D&D orcs, and Tolkien's. Where Tolkien had his upgraded smarter orcs (Uruk-Hai), in our homebrew world game the orcish upgrade involves Earthbending as a kind of magical martial-art, able to produce Rock Orcs and that family tree of stronger rocky monsters.  It's everything you already know about orcs from instinct --- they are organized, solider-like, but vicious and hateful; plus some have developed a disciplined practice of Earthbending, often in service to Gruumsh and other dark purposes. I will say that Sigma would still need to spend 1 NWP slot on Speaking Orcish, and 1 slot on Reading-Writing Orcish, if you want that, and I think that's reasonable since I already gave out increased NWP slots above the default 2E. You get +1 new NWP slot at every level-up. More hints on the set-up about Earthbending and the Orcs in Homebrew: Remember that not all Earthbenders are bad. You have Wei-Ting a Flind Earthbender as a PC in the party. You've met some neutral Earth creature types, and even some good ones, Xaren and Galeb Duhr for examples. Note that not all Orcs are Earthbenders. But, by-and-large, the BENDING arts in homebrew world have been discovered and practiced for evil purposes, as a twist against the Avatar Airbender universe where the concept of bending was originally illustrated and the Earth Nation acted largely good, neutral and lawful. Importantly, homebrew orcs are the ones who specialized in the Earthbending path, using Earth as a tool towards evil. They've developed the special earthbending techniques of creating new rock orcs to manufacture armies.
Pretty self explanatory... Only good orc is a dead one!
Actually Ampton took the Orc Sling, has been working out ok for him. Take it off the undistrubted list.
Aepod, I just updated it.
Larry D. said: Sigma will offer Hugo the Fiery Yellow Corundum (1000 gp) for the Gold bracelet set with gems to wear on one of his horns, as a declaration of wealth.  This can help with intimidation (as in real world history, do NOT attack the mercenary wearing Coin Armor.  Coin Armor was scale male literally made from money they'd made being bad-ass). I am sure you could persuade Hugo to make that trade. Out of character, it seems you are not making a very good offer, but I'm sure Hugo could be persuaded from certain angles. He is not a tradesman, after all.

It was a good-sized lumber chopping axe +1, which can be used as a Battle Axe +1.  It's not a big double-bladed battle-style head, just a wood-chopping single-blade design, but it has the handle size and heft to count as battle axe rather than handaxe for D&D purposes. Wait... Magic Item Shops exist?! In the places across the 3 bridges, you can buy +1 and +2 weapons and armors -- they are not inexpensive, but hey, at least PC's can put some of your money to use for your own desired weapon types, in case the treasure-rolls have yielded too many longswords and not that halberd or magic flail someone wants. Plan ahead for this opportunity to spend some gems & GP over the next few sessions, to fill in equipment gaps and make sure most PC's have some magic items, variety of sharp and blunt +1 and +2 among the party, missile and melee weapons with magic bonus, as well as balancing AC's (protect your squishier PC's more) and a supply of healing potions. Combined with treasure hauls and NPC rewards to the party, this should outfit us up to spec for 5th-6th level adventuring coming up. Across the 3 bridges... places to buy magic items and gear...

I had all kinds of messing-with-me interruptions at the shopping part of last session.  I'd like to respectfully ask for a re-do now that I can think better, that I can post here or just email to you, Gold.  Player made mistakes from being frazzled.

That's fine Larry . We can re-do your shopping list (with only a slight upcharge). Must've had Pixies buzzing in your ears at the Fey Swiss Chalet. Re-check and recalculate Sigma's wealth. Post how much GP you control, how much you want to spend, and what items you want to buy. I'll price-out the items, if they can be had here. For the record I think you made some good purchases, but I will let you re-do your selections.

IF any orcs HAD shown up, they would've been reduced to ashes. Not my fault they didn't... If I had been thinking quicker, I would have rolled for if they did. As it stands, Rex , I will encourage you to add a conceivable running-farmland encounter into your Journal for this week. Maybe you encountered a Bear or something out there in the farmlands country side. If you ran into a stream there was a Giant Crayfish that snapped at you. Something like that. Coyote, wolf, a lone orc, a few blood hawks swooping down, take your pick of something like this, if you like. It makes sense anyway to account your XP share, and I know that Azur like this kind of animal wrestling. I'm fine with Azur getting the Chainmail +2, good call to put forward your claim and interest, see if anyone else had a reason to want it too. Chris C thanks for bringing the treasure and XP lists over.
Protection... from...werebears?  Do orcs have Bear Cavalry? You know, it's an arms control situation... werebears are all lawful good so if we sell that scroll it'll get used against our allies!

Larry D. said: Protection... from...werebears?   You know, it's an arms control situation... werebears are all lawful good so if we sell that scroll it'll get used against our allies! This is D&D so you have a right to bear arms. Just ask Azur. Great point about Werebears being GOOD aligned! They are technically Chaotic Good, in AD&D 2E.  A quote is, "They are the best known of the good aligned lycanthropes." I liked that movie The Golden Compass (didn't read the book) that had noble talking bears in a D&D-ish setting. All the more reason Orcs had manufactured the scroll --- to protect themselves from some Good Werebears who may have tried to stop the orcish advance in nearby forests. A quick house rules point about "Protection From ____" scrolls, this type of scroll can be used by any class. It is not just for Mage / Cleric / Bard / Thief / Ranger.  Even Fighter or Bender or any class can read/use a Protection scroll.  These are the GREEN Scrolls if you played Baldur's Gate CRPG. You don't need "Read Magic" or even literacy, just unfurl this scroll and it protects you from the named creature-type. But here's the conundrum about KEEPING this particular item, that only protects you from a Good creature type anyway -- it makes the party a target of werebears. "Werebears destroy any magical items that specifically affect lycanthropes or bears, since such items might be used against themselves." So you probably don't want to sell it... yet it's risky to keep it. You could look for some good Werebears and non-threateningly leave the scroll where they can shred it?

Torvald would like the Potion of Extra Healing. Optional: dwarf sized Splint Mail +2 (Resale or gifting to future PC) Baradin would like a Potion of Healing. Chain Mail (Non-magical) Dwarf Plate Mail (Non-magical) Dwarf Chain Mail +1 Human/Male Plate Mail +2 (Paul advised it was okay to gift out) Medium Shield +1 Long sword +1 (Luck blade / +1 to all Saves)  Hand Axe +1 Bull's eye Lantern w/ oil flasks x4

Silk , 1. I have the Bracers ready in-game with a Handout with a picture, just remind me in-game. (They are basically Bracers that protect you from cold);. 2. Bridle Of Arctic Animal Command, like all Bridles of Command, works to calm and control an animal including a mount, but it must be an animal that you find or encounter. The bridle does not give the power of summoning an arctic animal from afar. Cylara must get into proximity with the animal, so they cannot count of this to supply a mount for your next roadtrip. You might be able to find an arctic animal. (Would have been easier to find one during the Winter Sessions on the snowy maps!). Keep reminding me in-game and I will see if we "roll up" an arctic animal in your wandering encounters. Game time coming in half-hour! See you all soon. Loot and XP from Farmlands and Countryside adventures: P.S. The thread may not have XP and Treasure recorded from last session. Ask DM or fellow players if you don't know what XP or loot you got last week.

Any other game, I'd say "chest bumping" would be a euphemism.
you know, the treasure is nice and all, but the thing thats most important for character growth, Exp, is missing from the loot post. Sadly i had to leave unexpectedly and the chat logs are not loading for some godawful internet reason..... anyone?

Luckily, we met after this post and covered Swargen's XP from that session, as well as updating your 2nd character Rajhad ! As far as the Chat Log --- once I can get it to load once, I'm going to try to Save a copy, and then I will Clear Chat Log, to address that loading problem, and start a fresh chat log from this stage of the game. @ Larry I'm going to roll-out some special treasures Sigma found from the Formorian Giants ('monster herder') encounter. Similar to how Azur got the main dole of Purple Worm treasure distribution. It's going to involve Sigma finding some caged monsters, unfortunately it was the day Sigma the Minotaur got his horns blunted and broken, but at least you're getting a couple of new monsters to handle out of the incident. For Azur's treasure distribution, I'm going to edit his post above and add Erik's and Cat's claim of 1 gem each, repeated below so be sure it's added to your Character Bio tab in-game, Alexandrite (500 gold) -- Claimed by Erik - Chakavi Yellow Topaz (500 gold) -- Claimed by Cat - Valkenhayn
Thank you Gold!  Alas I will still miss Tuesday (tomorrow) due to travel, but I should be able to play Thursday.

Paul -- take +400 XP for Swargen and Rajhad (each) for May 31 session, when you had to log-out an hour before the others met Ota Sura, and before the XP tally was given. The others, got your XP in-game. The treasure was minimal in this session, each PC got around +2 GP, make sure to write it down on your Bio Tab with your Gold & Treasure tally, if you consider the small amount worth accounting. Good game today. I'll see you soon, game on this Thursday (optional attendance, side session), or next Tuesday (main game)!  I'll post a new scheduling thread soon just to keep everyone on-track for June game days.
I believe Erik is claiming the 500gp aquamarine.

I'll post a new scheduling thread soon just to keep everyone on-track for June game days. didnt log out, something happened at my isp, sadly just back on today, but got a free month of internet out of it lol

You didn't just get a free month of internet. Swargen also earned a free trip across the Rainbow Bridge to Asgard to fight Loki and get Thor items. I'm not even kidding. Don't worry you didn't die. Swargen receives a summons from Thor on-high, that Swargen is needed to go on a personal quest in his Astral Spirit Form. In your astral spirit form You must cross the Rainbow Bridge to Asgard, and defeat Loki in a massive Swargen's Quest adventure (30 maps, 4-8 weeks of gameplay), in order to obtain the secrets of how to recover the lost Thor artifacts that are scattered around Midgard (Homebrew World). I'll explain more and and respond to your reaction, when we are in-game together. Just wanted you to know that there is a major side-quest plot development for your main PC, and the other PC's will be able to go on this adventure with you (playing it on any of the off-days or secondary sessions, not on the Main Game day). Some of the other PC's have already heard about this development in-game, so I want to let you know right away now that you're back online.
I've already declared to Gold that Swargen will have his hammer-buddy minotaur along with him astrally if we can work it out.  Sigma even has a way to defeat Loki with a trick, should it come to it, in front of everyone in the Hall. :)  Sigma is Swargen's sidekick, and the fans demand it!
thats friggin awesome!!!! so looking forward to it, for sure. And if the gods allow it, im game for Sigmas help.

Any PC can join you on assist in their Astral Spirit Form, so long as they believe in Asgard and are able to tolerate astral travel.  Even if their corporeal body is engaged in a different physical quest location on the main game day, if the Player is able to attend on Swargen's Quest days then the PC can astrally appear and help you. However things like Astral XP from Swargen's Quest will not vest until Swargen (and company) officially complete the quest to defeat Loki. Your astral form will not transfer treasure & XP to your corporeal Homebrew World PC, until the end of the entire astral Asgard adventure. Then you'll get the whole bump of XP all at once (when your astral spirit reunites with your body after the quest is completed), and at that future date  Swargen will get the largest share of GP/XP and the key secrets to find Thor's missing artifacts.
