The DM who invited me to their last game had to essentially cancel due to getting a new job and ended up being booked over the only available day of the week that the party could join up on. This happened before a proper session 0 could even start which honestly has left a rather empty taste in my mouth, no blame to the DM, of course, but it meant the character I spent time working on is now worthless. I'm looking for a new group, and I don't particularly mind if the character I had worked on previously isn't allowed over, mostly since the background was custom made, but also because they started at 5th level and to a much lesser extent were a Tabaxi Rogue with the Swashbuckler subclass. I rolled 130gp for starting wealth, and stats were point-buy, I'm not particularly attached to the stats due to circumstances. I can change the level to match the game, but if I'm not allowed to move the character across then I don't mind making a new one. I'll say that 5e is my preference because I'm actually a lot more aquainted with the rules, and a lot of it is fairly simple to look up if I need a reminder. I wouldn't mind trying Pathfinder or another TTRPG out, although I will be far more lost and confused as I haven't familiarized myself with anything but 5e at the moment.
