LF GM Dark Heresy (40k rpg)

Sure thing. I only picked guildlaunch because its free. I am annoyed that I can't just edit the html readily.
I put my character description on the site. We might be over thinking this. We could just create a Facebook group or even just use Skype to communicate as a group.
I put my character description on the site. We might be over thinking this. We could just create a Facebook group or even just use Skype to communicate as a group. We could be, but looking at some of the campaigns and what it can do I think it has value if this becomes a solid thing. This also won't be just for this game, I may be running another game on alternate weeks so it helps me as well. I can live with the 5 bucks a month if it does what I want.
Why Skype when we can VOIP with roll20? =D Also, I'm willing to help you manage/maintain a site.
We aren't Skyping unless the VOIP seems bad.
Ok here is the new Obsidian Portal site: <a href="http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/coming-darkness" rel="nofollow">http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/coming-darkness</a> Pretty simple even for me. I may have questions Derek, but so far so good. All the players will need to register and then apply to the game. I have created forums and added our first game to calendar. Any suggestions or feedback welcome. Please add your characters to the characters section. I'll start adding background info to the wiki.
I can't seem to get into the Obsidian one, it says I'm not authorized to view the page.
same here
I was just suggesting Skype because it would be the best way to communicate effectively outside of Roll 20. Could make a group with all of us and then send one message to all of us with one button press. Plus most people will check Skype more than Roll 20.
I don't use Skype at all really. . Also I had settings setup as Private. Try now. You will need to register an account and let me know your name. They have some sort of friend system.
Those I have emails for, Peter, Dustin, I sent you invites.
I like it already it's a lot cleaner of a look.
I like the email when someone posts or changes their character function.
Oh you may get a lot of emails from me lol I keep adding stuff and tweaking it....sorry.
No problem, I like to see activity.
Ok Chris, you have an email invite.
Ok who is deadlysoldier in Obsidian Portal?
I also like that character creation page...that way whenever we update it we can just input the changes and send you the new copy.
I have made the first Adventure Log post - <a href="http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/coming-darkness/adventure-log/edge-of-darkness-background-information-part-1" rel="nofollow">http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/coming-darkness/adventure-log/edge-of-darkness-background-information-part-1</a> Tell me if it is readable etc...
I'm able to read it...also are you able to read anything that we put in the secret things about characters or is that only for us to see?

I'm able to read it...also are you able to read anything that we put in the secret things about characters or is that only for us to see? Let me check - I am building the module in roll20 right now. Give me a sec. Edit: I dont think so - I see a box that says Secret GM info, but thats it as far as I can tell. Also - who is deadlysoldier - I dont want to boot but I dont know who that is.
I'm sorry I didn't clarify...I meant on the OP site...and yes I double checked it and you can select all who sees the secret. At the top it says GM+??. I think that is neat if we have that stuff it could be sneaked into the game for our characters. It's under the edit character on OP.
Going to website right now. Sorry was checking out an game of 3.5 here on Roll 20.
accepted the inv on the website.

I have places as the GM that I can add secret info as well.
By the way - I love Erik's Avatar - very slick.
Please take a look at the character Roth on Obsidian. Please add that type of information to your existing character sheets. It will also expedite creating your characters in roll20. Thanks. Also I still need to know who deadlysoldier is.
That'll be me
Ahh ok. Thanks.
Okay I put in test in that box will fill out later just got home from a bach party and im tired
Okay I put in test in that box will fill out later just got home from a bach party and im tired No problem. Also can someone see if that link I posted earlier to the game still works. If so, I will make character tokens and release to the players so you can input data.
So, based on who is showing up, are we full?
So, based on who is showing up, are we full? No - I think we have room for at least one more. Players so far: Derek Dustin Peter Christopher Looking good so far - looks like everyone has the character at Obsidian. My build of the module here on roll20 is going well. I have found some WH40K Tokens for any battles. Seems like all is well.
Still need to update my character on Obsidian. What rank/level are we at? One of the other characters on the site seemed to be higher level than I am, based on his description.
If it's my character I just made a back story that could be inserted into the actual Warhammer 40K universe not intending to make it seem like my character is stronger. I couldn't understand how my guy being 27 and then joining the inquisition would be joining with little or no combat experience especially being a Guardsman. His ranks prior to the game have no tie in to the actual rank names of the game i.e the sergeant rank.
Yeah I just jumped in for a sec it seems to still work to the game....also I am still trying to get my friend to finish his stuff he has his chracter made just not getting to the online stuff.
Hm. i know someone who I think would be very interested in joining. What classes would work best for him to fit into the campaign?
Also, I'm level 1... Rolled stats +base scores
Update. My buddy seth is very interested in the game. (he is a big DnD player) If you let me know which roles/classes you were thinking would work best for the story he will pick from those for his character. (He tends to play classes that have more out of combat technical skills.)
Everyone is level one. Should be no problem if someone wants to add a buddy. An investigative or a healer type (as they exist - Medicae) might be useful, but I want folks to play what they like. For your friend - Adept or Techpriest may be useful - if he wants to be the investigating type - Arbiter.
He wants to be a techpriest. =D I'm also going to adjust my chosen skills and move towards a more investigative/healer role. (I think his techpriest is going to take some medicae skills too.)
Sounds good
Alright thanks for the answers. I randomly rolled everything my character has and it was all the stuff I wanted. I was happy.

Hey I'm going to be the tech priest. never played this game but Derek promoted really well and I am pumped.
And I'm still trying to get my friend to get his stuff in so we can have an assassin....but he is being very slow but in defense we were at a bach party and wedding and stuff all day today as well lol. Anyway looking forward to playing since Derek and I made our characters....I am pumped as well.
Hey I'm going to be the tech priest. never played this game but Derek promoted really well and I am pumped. Excited and engaged players is what makes the game fun for everyone. Look forward to having a great group. Don't forget to go to the Obsidian Portal site, join and add your character. Looks like we have sheets for everyone, but Dustin's friend. No worries there - I like the discussion on the forums on OP - excellent. Peter' knowledge base should make things a lot easier as I dont have to go digging into the book for everything. I do have the DM screen etc..., but a new game always needs a couple of playthroughs before I get rules and flow of characters. WH40K RPG's are very heavy into "spontaneous" and not nearly as structured as some I have played - they are very sandbox which means the players have an incredible amount of freedom to build their own stories. I should be on per the Calendar on OP this evening, I will be building the final bits of the scenario and rendering some of the scenes visually on roll20. Stop by and chat if you'd like.
Awesome to hear, and I'm glad to help in any way, shape, form etc etc.
