High Processor Usage(Chrome)

I have the same CPU usage increase issue when using chrome or firefox on Ubuntu 22.04. Even just moving my mouse around is really slow.

Not sure what it is, but this has been pretty bad for the past year? My windows 10 PC has a i5-4670K CPU, using Chrome, and on Jumpgate it maxes out to 100% CPU as long as the tab is selected. Everything is 2 fps (exaggeration, but its dam slow). Even on non-jumpgate, my CPU is at 60%, which is decent, but the framerate drops to about 10-20 and I have no clue why. It used to run smooth as butter. Its been slower and slower on both my PC and my Laptop. Was nigh unusable on my PC the last time I tried it use it.

Happy Birthday everyone, our problem child turned 2 recently ♥️
Very disappointing that the Chrome performance issue has resurfaced for me.
Up until our last game session, high processor usage has only been an issue for one player who is using an older Mac laptop. For our last session I migrated my game to Jumpgate; the Mac user's processor issue went away, but now a player who is using a fairly new Windows PC was experiencing slow responses when making die rolls from their character sheet. Other players (including me) who are also on Windows machines of various ages and specs and using both Chrome and Firefox were not adversely affected.
Hi, coming back to Roll20 after a couple of years away and have the CPU maxing out issue suddenly with a new PC. I am trying this to fix the issue: "The recommendations in this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/Roll20/comments/185hiod/roll20_lag_solved/ - yielded an immediate and dramatic improvement in my Roll20 performance in Chrome." Sorry I can't quote this properly as its too old apparently, but it was by the user "Chad". I went through this and had a lot of trouble with this part of the instructions: Open settings, search Graphics Settings and open that. Hit "Browse", then paste the address into the address bar (NOTE not the search bar in the top right, or the file bar at the bottom. It's the bar on top, on the left). Hit enter and it will open the directory. Select Chrome in that and hit enter. Does he mean Graphics Settings in Chrome or Windows? I can't find Graphics Settings in either. How can I find that window he's talking about so I can paste the Chrome address into that and get Chrome in "the directory". By the way, what's "the directory"? Thanks. It's fascinating that a lot of things in general are getting worse for no reason. Like another quick example is I can never search for anything on Amazon/Google/eBay anymore. It only gives me results of things I don't need or want but are promoted or the algorithm "thinks" I should want. I think it is a master plan to demoralise society?
I tried jumpgate with my party of four players. And it was worse than in the legacy version. I had serious CPU issues on a 2 year old I7-11375H, 32GB RAM. I tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge. All were considerably higher in CPU usage than the legacy version. CPU was constant at 90% in jumpgate, in legacy its at 30%.

I think this may be a new problem (or a regression back to the old problem). Fargate had solved my performance issues but now they are back with a vengeance and impacting most of the players in my campaign.
