Keith thanks for the reply. We started the game and he did a quick move around with his token and said he could see beyond the light barriers, seeing areas he hadn't been too. I disabled explorer mode and he couldn't see through the dynamic lighting barriers and the game went without any issues. After the game I created a map, enabled explorer mode and asked him to see if he could see anything he shouldn't and yes he could. Again he could see through dynamic lighting barriers. I've just tried the Zen Browser, Firefox based and I was having issues with lag and jagged pixilated edges of the dynamic lighting, none of which I get with edge. Hi I've been having trouble with the dynamic lighting (and lighting in general) as a player. Whether I or the gm place my token on the map I can see everything. Not the gm layer but the entire map is visible to me. No other players in our game experience this. The other lighting mode makes no difference.I am using firefox as up to date as i can get it for my macbook. Everyone else is using firefox as well. the lighting works for all other players. Does anyone have any advice regarding this?

Make sure that you have not been inadvertently assigned permission on a character you should not have control over. Also, can you confirm that you are seeing a full color map, with tokens that exist beyond the barrier? (Need to make sure this is not a case of Explorer mode.) There do seem to be some sporadic reports (see above) of players seeing beyond dynamic lighting barriers. Without a reliable reproduction case, it's hard to diagnose, though.

Today while I was setting up a new map, I logged in with my dummy account with another browser and entered my game as a player in order to verify my dynamic lighting barriers. I discovered that I could move my player token outside the map into the areas outside of the grid . The player's token was not visible when outside the map, but their token bar and nameplate were so it was easy to "aim" my cursor between the bar and nameplate to grab and move the token. I worked around this by drawing a dynamic lighting barrier all around the map and turning on ""Lines Block Movement" in the page settings. This is not a real fix, because this is to be an outdoor encounter: I want to allow the player's tokens to freely move past or over obstacles to discover what's behind them without me having to push their tokens past those barriers for them. Jumpgate, using the D&D 5e by Roll20 2014 character sheet. Using both Chrome and Firefox.

Not sure if I'm behind the times on this one, whether it has been reported or maybe its even working as intended. I've very rarely used the Effects tool in my games... like at all... but last night just for something different and because I hadn't used the new tool yet with players actively in the game, I used one on a map to simulate something weird happening. Only one player was supposed to see it as they were the only one in the room. But All the other players reacted, "What was THAT?" and "Was that a weird new Ping thing?" I was a bit confused so did it again and asked if they could see it at anther location where they shouldn't have been able to and everyone could see it above the map. Is it meant to be like that? Has it always been like that?  Personally speaking, I'd prefer it if such things were line of sight.

I too would prefer if effects were visible based on line of sight. Otherwise the effects are just "spiffy looking" and not very functional. I did want to post to acknowledge that we have reviewed the reports since my last reply and we'll be digging into them. Converted a Sandbox game to Jumpgate using Roll20's in-game chat prompt to convert.  The Sandbox game is now a JG game and appears to be fine on the surface but the "(Legacy Backup)" that was created is completely void of all the in-game assets that the non-JG game had. ie no characters, handouts, maps, macros, tables, decks, etc. were backed up. It looks like the backup just created an empty "game" and labeled it as "(Legacy Backup) ..." JG Sandbox on left | (Legacy Backup)... on right Is this typical?  Does this only happen with Sandbox games? Thanks

For what it's worth, I just converted another Custom Sandbox game to JG and the back up that Roll20 created did include the in-game assets (characters, handouts and such).  So it may have just been a "glitch in the matrix" on my other game.  IDK

Some kind of internet communication error on the first one, maybe? I've never trusted that auto conversion. I've always duplicated game to a Jumpgate space. I.e. the new game is the Jumpgate one and the original is untouched.

One fix suggestion.... when running, I like to show only the names of the players in the game, as I have no need of seeing their roll20 avatars.  I ask my players to put useful info into their screen name, such as character name, AC, PP, and DC, so I can see it at a glance.  However, in Jumpgate, all these names get scrunched together and crammed as far left as they can be.  In short, I'm not able to use this function to easily display useful info.

Hi Faramir17,  This is not a Jumpgate issue, it is an Integrated Video and Voice issue. If you are not using Roll20's Integrated Voice and Video you can set your Audio & Video "Chat Tech" option to "None" which will solve the issue. If you are not the Game Owner you can ask your Game Owner to do so.  You (or the Game Owner) can do that by going into your game, click the My Settings tab (top right corner), scroll down to Audio & Video. I've deleted those converted games already (cleaning house).  Apologies.  I've decided to that JG seems stable enough at this point (knock on wood...) that I'm converting and/or creating all as Jumpgate now.

I just had a thought while setting up tonight's game, and don't even know if this is something I should post here or in another thread. But... using the new Page Folder, when I have players on different maps, the name of the page appears alongside the grouping. The grouping shows a coloured tab that also helps identify the page they are one, which is useful for me to find that page via the folders and navigate my way to it as GM. What would be WAY more useful would be if there were a direct link in that Page Name, so that I can go straight to the page where the each group of players is, rather than searching for it by checking the marker colour. So, if for example the Yellow Flag was showing four players in "The Seedy Tavern" and the Blue Flag was showing three players in "The Temple of Happiness"  and these were in different sub-folders, I could just click on those page names to skip immediately to that page without the bother of, "Don't move or do anything for a second... I'm just finding the page... hang on... nearly there. Right, sorted!" If this should go elsewhere let me know, and if I'm already missing something that allows this, PLEASE let me know. (I know there are APIs that kind of do this, but then I'm doing just as much searching for the pages on that API menu.)

Edit: Seems to have fixed itself. All of my torch tokens placed using the Place Light tool have become invisible, ie. their image doesn't load (they were working fine about 15 hours ago). If I use the tool to place a new light token, it's also invisible at first, but eventually appears. If I reload the page, all of the old tokens are still invisible while the newly placed tokens (or at least some of them) are visible. Looks like after each reload, the newest tokens that I placed also stop loading. When I switch to a different Page, the torch tokens on that page appear as white squares for a moment and then become invisible again.

Derp. I completely forgot. Hover over the player name. A small crosshair target will appear on the right side of the line. You can click on the crosshair to go to that page.

OK Something new happened tonight. As a player a section of the map disappeared. It was a wooden platform. One minute I could see it then the next I couldn't. I refreshed my Edge Browser and it appeared only to disappear moments later. Two of the other players also using edge browser could see it, then suddenly it disappeared for one but the other could see it all game.???
