Oh wow I see it now. Annoying bug. Thank you, was driving me crazy. Gauss said: Erudo said: Recently I'm noticing a strange bug with a particular player's 5e sheet. But the problem returns when trying to add new damage bonus. Anyone else experienced this, and if yes how did you fix it? This is a known bug, the equipment mod line can get corrupted. The solution is not to use it unless you have to, which in the case of attacks you don't have to.  Edit the equipment, remove the checkmark for attack. Manually re-create the attack.

Hello all, I am trying to create a table in a handout for a DnD5e game, for just for me (the GM) to see, with a link to every player's character sheet, and ideally their current AC and HP, for a quick reference point during combat.  I got the sheets linked, but I can't figure out a way to link the AC and HP pull to the current info, either from the character sheet, or the token. Is this something that can be done without a pro account? I apologize if this has been answered before, I tried searching several different ways, and couldn't find it. Thanks!

However, if you want another solution, you could use the EncounterMule feature with the D&D 5E Statblock Macromule . It is available to Free users, either by using one of your three character export slots, or by manually cutting-and-pasting attributes and abilities into a couple 'mule' characters.  Here's what the PC Encounter menu looks like:

How come when dragging a weapon from the compendium to the character sheet it takes the whole description with it in text, and then copys that to the chat when rolling for damage? This is super inconvenient and I have to delete it every time I add a weapon to a character sheet, every time I make a new character for my game. I'm making a lot of characters and this is driving me insane..
This is probably a compendium issue. I've seen the same behavior myself. I'd post a bug report via the help center (not the bug report forum) to bring it to the dev's attention. Hi Lunchbox, The problem here is not a Compendium issue, it isn't even really an NPC character sheet issue. It is a D&D 5e issue.  NPC sheets are not designed the same as the PC sheets because NPC attack modifiers are not created using a formula like PC attack modifiers are. NPC attack modifiers are 'whatever the creator wanted' as per the rules in the DMG.  Because of this it is my guess that the NPC character sheets were not expected to have items dragged and dropped onto them without significant editing.  This is demonstrated in your screenshot where the attack/damage statblock is not correctly written. Again, not a Compendium issue as there is no formula for attack and damage bonuses for NPCs.

This worked fine about a year ago though. I don't understand why they would update it to some "make work project" because no one wants that populating in their chat when they roll damage.

Hmmm, I don't remember ever being able to drag/drop items to the NPC sheet and have them populate correctly but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.  With that said, no matter what I cannot imagine that equipment being dragged and dropped to the NPC sheet correctly populated the attack and damage section simply because there are no rules to govern it. So that would have to be manually updated in any case.

WotC did not bother with consistency on NPC statblocks (which I actually find to be a good choice).

You could do it by manually entering the necessary features, but no, the Charactermancer cannot handle this sort of outside-the-normal-rules accounting.

FWIW, my recently ended campaign which lasted about 4 years or so worked just fine with dragging items (including weapons) to NPC sheets. The description was not copied to the chat at any point - whether when dropping the weapon onto the sheet or using it. Could this possibly be something that changed in preparation for the new 2024 rules? I don't know why it got messed up but I flagged it as a bug and they are looking into it. However long that takes. I agree though, this was not an issue in my previously played games over the last three years.  Saul J. said: FWIW, my recently ended campaign which lasted about 4 years or so worked just fine with dragging items (including weapons) to NPC sheets. With all this work going on with Jumpgate I hope that 2014 is not forgotten, there are still lot's of bugs.
The advertising for Jumpgate has gotten overly intrusive. I have taken a look at Jumpgate and intend to change over to it sometime after it's official release, in the mean time the pop-up adds and surprise messages are really annoying and disrupting our game. It's bad enough that some of my players have slow connections and suffer from lag and needing to refresh every so often but the Jumpgate adds are only getting gin the way. "Rant, rant, rant".
Hello everyone! With an already existing game (D&D 5e, 2014) there are problems with the Charactermancer since yesterday (2024-09-17): Although I bought the PHB and deactivated the new rules (SRD/Free Rules 2024) as content, the Charactermancer shows me all SRD content in addition to that of the PHB. This is annoying, but bearable. What's worse is that I can select Point Buy for the attributes, but since yesterday: nothing happens. I can only do something with the user-defined input of the attributes. What's going on there? Have you ruined the character sheet with the new SRD compendium ? Please make sure that it works again as before! Many thanks and best regards!
hello all are you guys has same problem as me? when you already create npc sheet then out from the game then join again all sheet gone. and when i Dm or player when wanna open character that already create it stuck on loading screen. if you guys has way to fix it please let me know it.
Trying to make some new characters for a new campaign and using the Charactermancer i am unable to distribute points using Standard Array - i select it in the dropdown box and nothing appears below it. (Same for Point Buy and Roll For Stats) Additionally - the spells tab is completely empty.  Has something been broken very recently - this was working fine a few days ago!
same issue as joe, also for the rogue character i'm trying to create - i can't assign the expertise skills

Hello all. Since tuesday (Sept 17th), the character sheet doesn't allow to use any ability method other than manual entry. Even when I do so, I can complete the character creation since nothing seem to be remembered at the reviewing step. I tries to do the "Apply changes" and it never completed. Was this caused by the impementation of PHB 2024 and what's the time timetable for a resolution?

Hi folks,  I tested and based on my testing the dropdown menu is present with all the options so it is not the previous bug that was fixed 2 days ago.  However, none of the options except for Custom appear to be working.  Does this coincide with what you are seeing?

I'm seeing the same issues with the old character sheet and compendium and removing the 2024 SRD from my game doesn't seem to resolve it.
The sheet has started suffering from issues with values not actually updating even though it looks like they've changed. For example, if you toggle a Global Damage Modifier on/off, it doesn't actually apply to rolls or stop applying to them until you add a new global damage modifier to the list. Similarly, if you change the Output of a spell from "Spellcard" to "Attack", it still shows up as Spellcard in chat until you add a new spell to your spell list. Even checking/unchecking a skill proficiency seems to not always update the actual value.
Okay, I've been looking for a place to post this post for two hours now. I don't know where to post it, so I'm writing it here. I need help because two of my D&D 5e gameplay keys won't load. Please contact technical support.

Hi Aleksi,  This is not a D&D 5e (2014) sheet issue, there is a general problem on Roll20's end affecting a large number of sheets.  You can follow the issue in this thread .  Aleksi said: The sheet has started suffering from issues with values not actually updating even though it looks like they've changed. I've seen a number of comments about charactermancer issues, but none about the fact that there's no way to disable the compendium from showing content incompatible with older sheets like the 5E one (the cause of the dreaded "Hello from the future" error).  To a degree this is a Jumpgate problem, but they've locked that thread to posting, so I'm going to note it here since it mainly affects older sheets. This bit us in a game last night, when the DM had to make a quick change to a sheet mid-combat, and kept getting the error when trying to drag a spell onto the sheet (I suspect he was using the old compendium, which puts the source in very tiny print; I've suggested he switch to the new compendium, which at least makes the names legible). But the root problem is that there's no way to block access to new-game content when playing with the incompabile old-style sheet.  You can't filter out SRD content in Game Settings or in the New Compendium filters.  I've added a Suggestion to allow such filtering, and to better distinguish "new rules" content from old. Allow Filtering Free Sources from Compendium

With that said, the 2024 FBR and 2024 PHB can both be removed from the game via the Compendium settings. The GM just needs to red list them. If that is not working for your group that would be a bug.

FYI - Ranger issues when both PHB and TCE are available. As of July 2024 helpdesk says charactermancer is functioning as designed, and we should MANUALLY correct issues from the charactermancer adding ALL features from TCE and PHB at each leveling. so I have summarized what needs to be done at each level AFTER the player uses the charactermancer to level up. This will help me keep track of all the junk that keeps getting re-added to the character sheet. Accounting for time and effort i will just ask here. How do i swap my compendium, ect, back to 2014 rules on a long standing game? I've had this for a while as my archive/place to invite players to, and now the rules are all 5e 2024 rules, which i have NO intention of using. there a setting or box to click, or are we going to pretend this isn't 5.5 and force the rules on the rest of us? because i'm not keen on manually imputting EVERYTHING.

HI mca_jabberwocky! Assuming you mean "how can I keep the 2024 rules out of my game?", then you can do that by going to your game settings page, expanding the "Content Sharing" drop down, and turning off access to the 2024 PHB. It will turn red and no longer be available in-game. You should be able to use the 2024 sheet if you wish, though with slightly reduced facility. This should improve as time goes on. If that isn't what you are talking about, please give more detail, and maybe there are other solutions.

When doing charactermancer level 1 it no longer adds equipment from the class. It is the same in the 2024 sheet using 2014 PHB only.
My group of 7 just gave up on managing DnD 5e 2024 characters in Roll20 until the background sheet editer comes online.  With performance lag, it just took me 15 min to add the attribute increases from Luckstone to my character sheet. This isn’t going to be sustainable with a high paced game.
