Custom Compendium

Score + 1643
I find it nice that you've finally given us the ability to add info bout custom races and classes in the Charcatermancer, but this would go a lot further towards the functionality I want if we could save these templates and use them just on our account instead of having to do a new one each time, or copy the process part way through and try to recall not to adjust the copy without first copying it to keep the template.  It's a start. A small one, but better than nothing.  It doesn't help with spells, it has trouble doing the simple math for hit points with a custom class, but  it does allow all the classes features to be entered at that stage, if you want them all on your sheet before you can actually use them.  Like I say, it's a start.
+1, only reason I had actually considered going Pro-Subscription only to find it a still missing feature.

+1 for me as well.

+1 Also saw this, I'll share it here for him, as someone suggested. Josh D. said: Create a new shared Party Vault with full support for the compendium drag and drop. This vault can be used to store shared loot and gold that has been acquired by the party. &nbsp;&nbsp; Create a new GM Vault that allows the GM to privately store items that he or she intents to offer to the party as a loot reward or shop keepers wares.&nbsp; The GM can click on an item or groups of items in his vault to share them with the party. Party members can click a button to vote to receive that loot or pass on the loot. If all players pass on the loot then it automatically goes to the shared party vault. If more than one player expresses interest in the item then they can decide who gets it.&nbsp; If the items being offered are from a shop keeper then it will display the price and the player can click to purchase the item. Doing so will deduct the gold from their characters inventory and add the item that was purchased. &nbsp; &nbsp; From: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12295248/feature-suggestion-gm-and-party-vaults" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12295248/feature-suggestion-gm-and-party-vaults</a>
+1 from me. Honestly, the biggest reason I support this so hard is for the game systems that Roll20 doesn't have any compendiums for (IE: Pokerole system) even though the Character sheet templates exist.

+1, I like it a lot — it will make custom sheets cooler and save a looot of time for the gamemaster.

Not sure exactly how to “vote” but I love this idea too and would love to see it.&nbsp;
Near the top of this thread, on the left side just under the thread title is an upwards pointing arrow "▲"&nbsp; labelled "score". Click on it (it will change color) to add your vote. Stephen said: Not sure exactly how to “vote” but I love this idea too and would love to see it.&nbsp;
I'm having issues added home brew items to the new sheet. The sheet opens like it going to let me type but it wont let me type this is a manual build sheet with a custom character.&nbsp; any suggestion?
Hi Kathos, This thread is for adding vote to the suggestion stated in the title. If you're asking about issues with the new D&amp;D 5e by Roll20 (2024) character sheet, post your questions here:&nbsp;<a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12047734/d-and-d-5e-2024-character-sheet-and-builder-by-roll20#post-12380924" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12047734/d-and-d-5e-2024-character-sheet-and-builder-by-roll20#post-12380924</a> Kathos said: I'm having issues added home brew items to the new sheet. +1. Come back to Roll 20 for first time in years after playing with a different VTT. Loads of great updates here, but I'm still genuinely surprised that custom compendiums aren't a thing.&nbsp;

I must be using r20 for close to 12years now. I've been a pro or plus user for the majority of those years. It always amazes me how crawlingly slow development is. Funny thing, a lot of annoyances and broken things from back then still exist today. As for features, it feels like the development focus is always something else or elsewhere.&nbsp; I can probably count in one hand when a update big or small benefited my games and I'm only counting very small changes. Meanwhile, updates that made things worse, my friends and I probably don't have enough hands and feet for those.
It's incredible that there is still no customizable compendium on Roll 20. From the moment there are official compendiums, creating personalized compendiums seems quite simple to do. I increasingly want to move towards the competition. Making my character sheets in French takes me ages whereas if I had a personal compendium I would only have to do it once. Incomprehensible!

This is the best suggestion/upgrade that roll20 could/should invest in. I run a lot of homebrew aspects, and if I didn't have to copy and paste, and had the option to create a primary library and drag and drop as required, I know I would greatly appreciate the utility and usefulness of such a function, and it shouldn't be that difficult, at least to the extent that it's been 'researched' with no movement for 9 years...&nbsp;
im going to +1 this...I do mostly PF 1e and having to make the same bloody spell 5000000 times is fairly tedious, let us ATLEAST drag it from NPC sheets onto other sheets or SOMETHING lol...
I just want to click and drop my homebrews onto the character sheets let’s not make this so difficult please

In addition, you should be allowed to edit compendiums you own (or at least could export them before making a custom compendium based on them)
+1 This is something I could really make use of. I've got 1000s of Player and Character Handouts in my campaign that I use to emulate a Custom Compendium, and it takes forever to find anything that I'm looking for. I've seriously contemplated switching to another VTT that supports this kind of thing.

crazy that Roll20 has been so absolutely lapped on this. I can't think of a single other VTT that wouldn't let you do this. Allowing a user to copy any SRD item as a template seems like a no-brainer.&nbsp;
This post is 8 or 9 years old...here I am supporting the ability to Homebrew stuff as a Daggerheart GM.

API Scripter
Hi all... I just released a Mod API Script "WhatIs" that turns handouts into searchable dictionaries you can reference and search in chat. I think might help provide some folks with a partial solution - those who are looking for how to share game subject &amp; topic content with their players. Since it is a Mod API script, it is only usable by GMs with Pro accounts, but it may prove useful! Feedback is welcome! WhatIs - The Handout &amp; Rollable Table to Searchable Dictionary Tool
